The SpaceWelcome to the Land of Enchantment! Rancho Gallina sits just off the Turquoise Trail in the hills south of Santa Fe. We have two beautifully updated casitas, Lone Butte and Sunset, with new beds, updated baths, and beautiful sunset views, available for rent either together or separate. Amazing scenery, cedar soaking tub under the stars, sunny courtyard for eating, reading, birdwatching and star gazing, outdoor firepit, cycling/mountain biking/running/horse trails are right out your front door and fantastic hiking/snow sports are just a short drive away.
The Sunset Casita (this listing) has a queen bed, Mexican Talavera tiled bath, small kitchenette with large toaster oven and hot plate, and a private portal and courtyard - for outdoor dining, birdwatching, or just enjoying the breeze. The casita is a bedroom and eat-in kitchenette, all other living space is outdoors. This is a great casita if you are traveling with pets, but out of courtesy to other guests please don't leave them in your room while you are out about town.
After visiting Santa Fe for years as a retreat, we moved here last year to build up just the place we would love to visit: beautiful space and location, easy access to the outdoors, classic adobe ambiance, hosts who know their way around a kitchen, museum, and national park, and a commitment to building a sustainable community and environment.
This historic ranch, on 10 acres of high-desert landscape, has been retrofitted with geothermal heating and cooling, solar electricity, and all sorts of energy and water saving features. The rooms are atmospheric and comfortable, with down comforters and fine linens, decent cookware, barware, and french press for coffee/tea. As hosts, we can provide you with daypacks and water bottles, recommendations on where to eat, hike, bike and explore, and a lending library of board games and vacation reading.
We are 10 minutes south of Santa Fe, 25 minutes to the plaza, and 45 minutes from Alburquerque. We are super close to the Santa Fe Brewing Company, Cerrillos Hills State Park, the groovy art colony of Madrid, and the Eaves and Bonanza Creek movie ranches. Babaluu's Cucina Cubana and the San Marcos Cafe offer close and tasty dining options, and the Mine Shaft Tavern in Madrid has a lively community music scene.
We have an additional larger casita and 2 beautiful bedrooms available, all with private bath. Let us know if you'd like to rent the whole place! Guest AccessAll rooms have access to kitchens/kitchenettes with locally roasted French press coffee. From Memorial Day to October we offer a farm fresh breakfast from 8:30-10 everyday, and evening wine and tapas on request.
Enjoy our cedar soaking hot tub, fire pits, courtyard fountain, double hammock, bocce ball on the grounds.
We have Wifi throughout, but we encourage you to unplug, unwind and relax.
We also have some outfitting for the active relaxers (daypacks, water bottles, maps, some cycling gear) and plain old relaxers (board games and paperbacks)! Interaction with GuestsWe see most guests at breakfast, but if you prefer to prepare your own in the privacy of your room/suite, we can arrange that! Otherwise, we live on the property and are generally busy in the garden, happy to answer any questions and make recommendations about where to eat and what to see and do.
