The Space"I rented this place sight unseen to finish a project for a local client so I had no idea what it would be like..but wow! It turned out to be an absolute gem! Very unique & beautiful and much more spacious than it looks in the photos. Has a magnificent kitchen, spectacular light, and plenty of pampering little niceties that you usually don’t find in a rental property. Location-wise, you’re less than five minutes from everywhere the Plaza, the shops & galleries, and all the great eateries. I definitely give this place 5 stars plus a couple of extra points for having the most comfortable furniture I’ve ever had the pleasure of lounging on. If you’re looking for privacy, comfort, and convenience, you’ll be happy you found this place." Guest AccessThe house is yours. Interaction with GuestsI am available via phone, text, email. I am interested in hearing any experience, issue and/or concerns you want to share. Contact info for plumbers and other services is available to take care of anything that needs fixing. The NeighborhoodHistoric South Capitol. A few blocks from the state round house and a 15 minute walk to the 400 year old city plaza, state fine art museum and history museum. Getting AroundThe City bus stops at Galisteo Street and Berger. Uber is becoming well established in Santa Fe as well. You might want to rent a car for a day trip to Toas, Chimayo, Los Alamos or the Golf courses around northern New Mexico. Other Things to NoteIn the winter months (with a few exceptions) the prices drop to $109 (or lower) a night. Please check the calendar for specific times and prices. I also will work with people on week long or monthly stays. Christmas is a beautiful, enchanting time in Santa Fe. The second bedroom is downstairs (16 stairs and a bit steep). The toilet is built into the large tiled shower stall. It is cozy and very quiet. Renters have loved it and say it feels like their own private space. The loft is only for agile people over 8 years old because it can be challenging to climb up a ladder on the wall. I use the step stool hidden behind the cabinet in the sun room to help me up and down. My adult friends have stayed up there and enjoyed it. The large skylight above gives a beautiful view of the stars at night.

The SpaceStunning views, clean and quiet. Only two miles from the Plaza (downtown Santa Fe) my artistically decorated home is on a safe, quiet cul-de-sac where all the neighbors know each other. The property backs onto a greenbelt where you can hike and see wildlife. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the back portal while watching the birds or have a glass of wine on the front patio in the evening and catch the sunset on the mountains as the city lights twinkle. In winter be cozy by the gas fireplace and contemplate the gently falling snow. The guest bedroom has a queen bed, nightstands, reading lamps, a large closet with shelves and hangers and a private bath with tub. Shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap only, and a hair dryer are provided. You will have full access to the living, dining, kitchen and laundry, WiFi, and off street parking. While I do have a flat screen TV , excessive TV watching is discouraged. The house is cooled by an evaporative cooler and heated with natural gas/electric. To accommodate my many guests I am keeping the house fragrance free, no perfumes or sexy after shaves, sorry. Breakfast is a help yourself affair. While I do not cook breakfast for you, coffee and tea, eggs, granola, yogurt and bread are available for the first few days of your stay but after that you should provide for yourself. My only request is that you do not fry bacon or other fried foods to minimize lingering smells and grease build-up. I do not use milk products or wheat products on a regular basis so if those are essential you can pick them up at the near by health food co-op on the way to my house. A delightful cafe called the "Tune Up" is also just a few blocks away. A rental car is recommended. A bus stop is one mile away and Uber and Taxis are available. Because of my busy schedule I cannot act as a tour guide, but I do have a notebook with maps and brochures to all the exciting things to do in and around Santa Fe. The guests I welcome are generally mature lovers of art and culture. I teach paper making classes so you might want to plan on joining a class while you are here. You can download an application off my website. Also, I work part time at the International Folk Art Museum. The museum is one of two on Museum Hill, wonderful to visit, plus there is a great cafe next door. My guests receive a "Member for the Day" pass which gives them free entry into the 4 major museums in Santa Fe. For my own sanity I ask that all cell phone calls be conducted in the privacy of your room and not in the shared areas of the house. Thank you. Guest AccessGuests have free use of the kitchen, dining, living and laundry areas. They may also enjoy the out door patio and portal. Interaction with GuestsBecause guests are staying in my home, close interaction is to be expected. While I do not like a lot of talking in the morning as I get ready for work, I do enjoy conversation during happy hour or dinner times. Again because of my busy schedule I cannot map out your adventures but I provide maps and guides. The NeighborhoodI live on a safe and quiet cul-de-sac where I know all my neighbors. The location is close to everything. There are walking trails with delightful views. Getting AroundA bus stop is near by. My house is only 2 miles from the downtown, but a rental car is recommended. Other Things to NoteI have a small black and white poodle/terrier mix named Little Dee. She is trained and does not bark or shed. She loves people and play.

Santa Fe is also a charming city of 70,000 friendly residents with restaurants, shopping, opera, hiking/biking and much much more. This area has a long history of Native American, Hispanic cultures and artistic creation of all cultures! Our house sleeps up to 6 adults (2 bedrooms + pull-out bed in the living room), two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, an adjoining bathroom with an outside door to it's own small porch and wall to wall carpeting. The SpaceMy place is about 3 miles from Santa Fe and is an eco friendly house built about 10 years ago from natural materials. It's 12" thick walls keep out any outside sound and provides a cooling effect in the summer. No noisy air conditioners needed. The home features red brick floors, arched openings and warm exposed beam ceilings in all the rooms. The walls are all hand troweled earthen plaster done in the Santa Fe style. There is a common entrance for guests and myself the owner, and from there the home is divided into separate living zones with a shared kitchen and living room. This private suite with 2 rooms has a private bath with an antique clawfoot tub. There are lots of windows that overlook the southern Sandia, Sangre de Cristo, and the Jemez mountains to the north. The bedroom is cozy with great views of the bee yard and natural settings. As a guest you may partake in managing of the bees or collecting honey if you like. Through another arched opening is the sitting room for quiet time reading, relaxing. It also has a built in desk. The rooms have wonderful light and can be darkened with pull down shades. Moving into the kitchen which you may use , we have a full gas range, SS refrig, and the cabinets are solid knotty Alder with poured in place concrete counertops. The teak dining table sits 4, the kitchen opens out into the splendor of the Jemez Mountain views and the koi pond. A back stone patio has 2 small cafe tables for a sunny breakfast. You are welcome to cook here but most guests want the Santa Fe dining experience out of the house. Its chili harvest season in Santa Fe and some like it hot!. Honey is collected from the 2 colonies on the property and you can get close to them in a suit which I can provide. We have walking-hiking trails just out the front door, a weeping willow tree with deck chairs, and gardens all around. The location is easy access from rt 599 or West Alameda St., and perfect for a quiet getaway. To accommodate my guests I request keeping the space fragrance free of strong perfumes or after shaves. I do ask since I share the home, and there may be other guests here, that the use of cell phones be done behind closed doors or outside whenever possible. Hope to see you soon. Guest AccessThere is a common entrance into a large living room. The suite is to the left and the kitchen to the right. Plenty of outdoor spaces to pull up to for lounging. Interaction with GuestsI can make dining suggestions as well as help plan day events in or out of town. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is rural with footpaths for easy walks or horse trails for an hour hike right from the front door. We all have 3 acres here, so very few cars or dogs. It's an upscale country area. Other Things to NoteMaximum of 2 guests and sorry , no pets.

The SpaceI have a beautiful, holistically oriented, Southwest style home with 2 guest bedrooms and guest bath. The house is traditional Santa Fe with Mexican tiled floors, vigas and posts and numerous windows and skylights. Guests have full use of the well-equipped kitchen, spacious yard (fruit trees, small pond, beautiful gardens), sunroom and other parts of the house. There is wi-fi throughout the house. The guest bedrooms and bathroom are very separate from the master bedroom (my bedroom) so there is plenty of privacy. The house is conveniently located a straight line to the Santa Fe Plaza (3.5 miles) in a completely safe residential neighborhood with plenty of on-street parking. We are 5 blocks from a great walking trail that passes through Museum Hill and goes all the way up to Mount Atalaya. For those visiting Santa Fe for a workshop, the house is conveniently located within 3 miles of Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, Prajna Yoga studio and Santa Fe Soul. You can rent 1 or both bedrooms depending on the size of your party (up to 3 people). I have a separate listing for the room with the double bed: Peaceful SF Oasis: Bedroom 1 of 2. In addition to myself, Patty and Tessa, my two friendly, well-behaved healer mutts live in the house. They will accept as much affection as they can get from guests but also respect privacy. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to welcoming you to Santa Fe. Guest Access Guests have access to all the public areas: well equipped kitchen, living room, dining room, sunroom and outdoor spaces. Interaction with Guests I am always available to make sure my guests are as comfortable as possible, and to answer questions, make recommendations and ensure that they have a wonderful visit - in my home and in Santa Fe. The Neighborhood Although my neighborhood is only a 5 minute drive to the Plaza (3.5 miles), it is quiet and completely safe. No need to search for a parking place here - you can park right in front of the house. There is a wonderful hiking trail just a few short blocks away - you can take a leisurely half hour stroll or go all they way up the mountain. Just walking down my street, you can spot numerous bunnies, quail and occasionally a deer or coyote! (Don't worry, coyotes are shy with people and won't bother you.) Getting AroundAlas, public transportation in Santa Fe has a lot to be desired. The buses run mainly along commercial routes and not very frequently. Taxis can be pricey. Of course it's an individual decision, but it may be worth considering a car rental. Even if you decide to stay in the Plaza, a car makes it easier to explore the surrounding towns, hiking trails and cultural sites.

The SpaceRetired art museum director/writer offers occasional rental of primary residence, a handsome/gemütlich townhouse in an internationally acclaimed, new (early 90s) compound designed by Mexico City's Ricardo Legoretta. "Zocalo" is both IN and yet OUTSIDE of historic and beautiful Santa Fe, a ten minute drive to the center/historic "Plaza at the end of the Santa Fe Trail". My place is jammed with art and flea market finds from all over the world, somewhat of an old curiosity shop, in effect, yet comfortable and inviting. Am happy to provide ample info to interested parties. I have rented the house quite often for the entire summer season to the Santa Fe Opera cast/personnel office; have also done several exchanges, though (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Details: Fully furnished, LR with cathedral ceiling/working fireplace; small/green patio; fully equip. kitchen, washer/dryer; one car garage (i.e. I need to leave my own car in one side) for renters. Wifi, cable, stereo; master br queen bed, second BR either twin or king (when separated). Full bath/shower with master BR, shower only in second BR. Santa Fe is a superb American city which is celebrating its 400th anniversary this year. It is marvelous at any time of year, with four perfect seasons, none extreme. Lying at 7000 feet up in the Rockies/Sangre de Cristo Mountains, it is a perfect site for exploring all the glories of No. New Mexico and "Indian Country," i.e. the various "Pueblos," handsome/old Taos, and the like. Santa Fe has its own, good ski basin, and even more challenging areas are avail. for a day's skiing as well (i.e. Angel Fire, Taos, Red River). In summer, of course, the city is wholly given over to our cultural offerings, with the Opera in the open air the key attraction; my house is a ten minute drive from the latter. At the moment...I would very much like to rent for a month-long period in "ski season," as I am to spend mid-Feb/mid-Mar. in Vienna, a kind of second home of mine, over some fifty years. (As those dates are near...I'd be willing to negotiate a bit on the usual rental, which (usually) would be as follows: $2400 per month/$1400 for any two-week [minimum] period. $300 damage deposit refundable upon satisfactory end of visit. $120 bi-weekly maid/cleaning set-up. Gladly exchange references.

The SpaceThis historic casita has solid adobe walls, nichos and other traditional New Mexico features. It has been renovated to let in plenty of light, so it feels spacious and bright. Wisteria foliage shades the bedroom window and you'll wake up to the sound of birdsong in the morning. Due to the unusually warm temperatures this summer, we have installed a window air conditioner in the bedroom to make the space more comfortable. We have just purchased a new queen bed, to enhance the comfort of our guests. We'd love feedback as to how comfortable it is! The mattress manufacturer - Tuft & Needle - was recommended to us - it's a small company in the Bay Area that makes nothing else but top quality mattresses. So far we've had excellent reviews from our guests! There are hardwood floors throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped with delicious new granite counters, as well as a gas stove and oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle, and double sink. The bathroom is brand-new; and there is a comfortable living room with a couch (that makes into a bed) and an easy chair to lounge on. We can easily accommodate 3 people as the casita is very spacious. Two can sleep on the queen bed n the bedroom, and there is room for one adult (or two children) on our new upgraded sofa bed in the living room. The casita is about 600 sq ft in size. Guest AccessWe have a sunny patio area for guests, with chairs and a table, for morning coffee or simply soaking up our New Mexico sun. Winter is beautiful here, with most days sunny and crisp - you can often sit out in the middle of the day even in December and January! Interaction with GuestsWe live right next door to the casita, so look forward to meeting you and getting to know you a little! We can offer help in terms of outings, food, logistics, whatever you want. We do both work full-time, but we love to visit with our guests as much as we are able. The NeighborhoodThis is the best neighborhood in Santa Fe! Quiet residential neighborhood but right in the middle of everything. I walk to the farmers' market every week, and shops, restaurants, cafes, museums, and the plaza are all easily accessible on foot. The new neighborhood attraction is the Violet Crown - 5 minutes walk from here - which is a cinema combined with a gastro-pub, where you can choose from 50 kinds of beer, and then take it into the movie with you, if you wish! Getting AroundThere is easy access to several city bus lines, and the Railrunner commuter train station is 8 minutes walk from here. The airport shuttle also stops at the train station. For day-trips, you do need a car, but we're located very near the main thoroughfare, so it's easy to hit the road. We have one off-street parking space for guests. Other Things to NoteThis is a great space for a family with a small child. The bedroom doesn't share a wall with anyone else, and there's lots of room for crawling and toddling. The separate living room means that parents don't have to tiptoe around once baby is asleep! Our new sofa bed in the living room has plenty of space for 2 children - it is just a little smaller than a regular double bed size. We care deeply about the environment, and call this our "eco-casita." We avoid toxic cleaning chemicals, provide organic and natural products for our guests to use, utilize organic gardening methods in our landscaping, and hang all our linens out to dry naturally in the New Mexico sun! We have even made it a priority to provide organic cotton sheets. We have found that our guests really appreciate these efforts! Every season has its attractions here, although fall and winter are exceptionally beautiful. May and June are usually the warmest and driest months - but since we're at 7,000 feet, it's rarely all that hot here! Summer is the rainy season, so we often get afternoon thunderstorms.

The SpaceThe house is perfectly located for visitors on Don Gaspar Avenue within walking distance to the Plaza and the Railyard and half a block from the State Capitol rotunda. The home is a territorial adobe set in a historical house built when Santa Fe was a part of Mexico in the mid 1800's and retains many original features. My family has lived in this property since 1952. The Space: The unit measures approximately 1200 sq. ft. and can comfortably accommodate 4 people. The house is made of adobe and it is important to note that REAL adobe is cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter. The unit comprises a large open plan living room, bedroom with a spacious en-suite bathroom with a full bath and a separate shower. The living room has a comfortable leather couch that converts to a queen size bed. For extra sleeping accommodation, twin Shikibuton beds or a king size bed can be set up in the middle room adjacent to the living room. The kitchen has full amenities with a table for 4. There is another table for 4 in the living room by a large picture window, which can be used for dining as well as a work space. The apartment is totally self-contained with a full bathroom and a full kitchen with access to three porches: one entrance/exit from the bedroom, one entrance/exit from the living room and another from the kitchen to the back porch. Parking is available for 2 or 3 cars near the front entrance on the property. Guest AccessThis unit is listed as a separate one for fewer people or can be combined with my other listing as an entire, whole house/whole first floor, for larger parties or more space. (Please see my other listings on my profile page for more details by clicking twice on my name. I have now added a cozy studio on the same house property, which is the 4th listing, sleeping up to two people.) This charming historical 1200 sq.ft. adobe unit is NOT available when the entire 1st floor, 2400 sq.ft., is rented and visa versa. In other words this is a home with 2 units side by side separated by adjoining doors, which are opened when the whole first floor of the house is rented. Please note that when both units are occupied, you can sometimes hear your neighbors. Therefore, quiet time is necessary after 10:00pm. Interaction with GuestsThe unit has a furnished back porch on our west side where people can enjoy food/drinks and hang out near the kitchen. One can also exit the unit from the front porch to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee/tea in the morning in front of the cozy studio on our east side. There is a courtyard on our south side where one can socialize, relax under the shade of the trees, and/or lay in the sun with food/drinks as well. The NeighborhoodAs a native Santa Fean, I can provide any information on dining, shopping, local attractions, events and local history you may need. I can provide guided historical tours of downtown Santa Fe as well. Just ask me a.s.a.p, so I can plan for it ahead of time. I love to interact with my guests and would be happy to give you a tour around town. Getting AroundShopping, food are all within walking distance. The Railrunner and bus systems are nearby, but actually you don't need a car in this area. Don Gaspar Ave. is located in one of the best and most beautiful neighborhoods in old Santa Fe. It is also one of the safest places to live. Bandelier once resided in this house until he built a bigger one on Canyon Road. In the sixties, only families occupied the homes on this street, which was near schools, shopping, etc. Now the block is in a commercial district, which means it is near where the action is on weekdays and quiet on the weekends. Other Things to NoteFor light sleepers, noisy road traffic on Don Gaspar Ave. can be expected at times since we are located downtown center. We are located on a one-way street going south away from the Capitol, so early traffic takes another route, but some 5:00 pm after work traffic takes Don Gaspar. We have forced air heating, which a very light sleeper may hear the air blowing out. To be noted as well, if you have severe back problems, the bathroom sink is kind of low, as this is a historic house. There is a stool now by the sink counter for seating. Also, please communicate with me via phone or e-mail messaging through Airbnb. Sorry, I don't text. Our gentle Collie in the backyard has sadly passed away, so there is now furniture on the back porch next to the kitchen for people to, for example, enjoy eating outside. Just finished a courtyard with outside furniture on the south side as well. We live in the separate apartment upstairs, so we will be close by, if you should need anything. Thank you, Virginia
