The SpaceNestled in the rolling hills of Cooperstown NY, this two-story contemporary country house, built in 2005 on 7 acres, has 2300 sq. ft of living space. Conveniently located between Cooperstown Dreams Park and the historic Village of Cooperstown, Thistle Hill has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
First Floor: living room with gas fireplace, family room with large flat screen TV, dining room for 10-12, chef-worthy kitchen, office with phone (landline) and whole house wireless internet. Wifi with guest password. Central air-conditioning, radiant floor heat throughout, whole house generator, and sound system.
Second Floor: 2 king bedrooms (1 with own bathroom and walk-in closet), 1 queen bedroom and 1 large dorm style bedroom with 3 double beds, full bathroom in hallway, laundry closet with front-loading washer/dryer, and iron/ironing board. Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light Portable Travel Bed also available. Basement: Ping pong table, large flat screen TV, and WiiU. Multiple board games.
Outside: Covered fully lighted patio with teak dining table and chairs, gas grill, hammock, and outdoor fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs. Additional folding chairs available. There are groomed walking/hiking trails up the hill. Plenty of yard room for Kan Jam, Baggo, Bocce Ball, throwing a football (all provided), or chasing fireflies. Front porch deck with teak adirondack chairs. Large side yard faces West for beautiful sunsets. Guest AccessGuests have full access to the Main house. Guests do not have access to the barn/garage. Parking is permitted outside the garage. There is ample room for parking on premise. Check- in is 3pm and check-out is 12pm on weekends. Interaction with GuestsGuests have a lot of privacy. Upon checking in, I can provide as much advice and information as they require, and will be a phone call or text away to provide whatever extra guidance and help as needed. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is private, scenic and peaceful yet close to all attractions & restaurants and just minutes to the village of Cooperstown. There you will find The Farmers Museum, the Empire State Carousel, The Fenimore Museum, The Baseball Hall of Fame, and Otsego Lake. Take advantage of the area’s many local attractions including Glimmerglass Opera, an internationally renowned professional summer opera festival and Hyde Hall, an 18th century neoclassical country mansion. The Cooperstown Distillery is conveniently located on Railroad Ave. just off Main Street. Take a tour of this lovely facility and sample their unique spirits such as the Abner Doubleday Vodka and the Classic American Whiskey in the famous baseball shaped decanter. Or visit their newly opened tasting room right downtown! Ommegang Brewery, famous for their Belgian brews, restaurant and concerts is only 5 miles away while Sharon Springs, home of the popular Beekman 1802 Mercantile and the Spring House Spa is a short 30 minute drive. Local antique shops, grocery markets, health food store, and restaurants are minutes away. The Cooperstown Equestrian Park, Cooperstown’s first equestrian park, offering introductory through second level riding lessons, is an 8-minute drive down the road. Opportunities include lesson programs, weekly lessons, camps, and educational events. Lesson packages are available for ages 6 to adult. The Leatherstocking Golf Course on the lake, welcomes guests of The Otesaga Hotel and The Cooper Inn, along with visitors to the Village of Cooperstown and local residents. The Stagecoach Cafe, Mel’s at 22 Chestnut, Cantina de Salsa, Cooperstown Diner, Nicoletta’s, Toscana Italian Fusion & Grill, Bocca Osteria, Doubleday Cafe, Cooperstown Food Truck, Danny’s Main Street Market, and Cooley’s Stone House Tavern are all conveniently situated along Main Street and offer visitors a wide array of dining choices, from classic American to Italian fusion to unique tavern cuisine. Getting AroundIf going downtown, guests may drive. Another option, if you are going into downtown Cooperstown, is to drive to the Trolley Park and take a trolley into the village. Guests may park in one of three perimeter Trolley Lots ( in season and on the way into town on Rte 28 ) and avoid driving in the congested downtown area of the Village. In town parking is metered.
