The SpaceIn the same family for 90 years, this Island retreat is unique. The waves moved the sand and the natives built a board walk so this 3 acre paradise is now technically a peninsula. The main cottage sits on a bluff overlooking the Westerly end of the lake (captures sunsets). The smaller cottage is closer to the sandy beach. The two one room sleeping cabins are right on the East and West ends of the Island where resting occupants can hear the waves lapping on the shore. No TVs here, but you will find such things unnecessary. We do have electricity, plumbing, toilets and refrigeration. Both kitchens are adequate, but we often cook burgers, chicken, etc. on the outdoor fireplace. Dogs are welcome - and they love it. If you smoke, you won't like it because the family trust agreement which governs the property, for safety reasons, requires that there be absolutely no smoking anywhere on the estate. Except for that policy restriction, we are friendly hosts and will do any and everything we can to make your vacation here memorable for a lifetime. Guest AccessYou can drive to and park within 100 feet of the boardwalk. Full directions will be provided upon booking. Interaction with GuestsSomeone familiar with the place will always be available by phone and we will provide local contact information as well. The NeighborhoodThe lake residents are part local, part commuters, and part occacional visitors from afar. All love the Lake and many, like us, have loved it for generations. Getting AroundYou can navigate the lake with the provided rowboat or canoe - or of course you can bring your own or a rental boat. The nearest town, Harrisville, NY is about 5 miles and you can get limited groceries from a store on the South Shore. You will want to bring stables for the week when you come. Other Things to NoteThe Lake is clean and clear, but not recommended for drinking water. Containers are provided and drinking water is readily available a different nearby places we will direct you to.

The NeighborhoodTrout Lake is located in a rural area almost directly between the St. Lawrence River and the "Blue Line" (boundary) of the Adirondack Park at the end of 1/2 mile long "camp" road. The location is serene and gorgeous, with a peaceful and friendly "neighborhood." The lake is 1.5 miles long and 1/3 mile wide, with several islands and bay; water quality is excellent as is the fishing. The SpaceThe log cabin at Jamie Lane sits on 4 secluded acres on its own peninsula, surrounded by water and pine trees. Minutes away from Hammond, NY and fifteen minutes by boat or car from Alexandria Bay! We provide a canoe and a small row boat for guests to use. If you're bringing your own boat, a boat ramp is just around the corner and you can tie up your boat to your own dock. We are also renting the smaller sister cabin on adjoining Jessie Island. It's connected by a foot bridge and sleeps an additional 6-7 people. Guest AccessYou rent the cabin, the whole peninsula is yours. The guests renting the adjoining island will park their cars in the same space but otherwise, you've got the run of the place. The deck, dock and flat outdoor space with grill and campfire spot are all yours to use. Interaction with GuestsThis is our vacation property so we aren't local. But we have people who clean the cottages, make repairs and let guests in and out. There is always help available if needed. We are also reachable via phone any time guests have questions or requests. The NeighborhoodWe are close to Hammond, NY and a 15-minute drive away from Alexandria bay. Singer Castle is super close by boat and Bold Castle is just 15 minutes away. Getting AroundSince this is a vacation cabin, you'll need a car to access it and also to get around. But since staying up here is about being on the water, the most important thing is the boats - which we provide two of and you're welcome to bring in your own to go further. Other Things to NoteThese cabins come furnished and have kitchen supplies like pots, pans, dishes, silverware and glasses available. We do provide some blankets but guests need to bring in their own bedding, towels, food and other supplies.
