The SpaceThe bedroom is at the back of the house and has fabulous cross ventilation and a private bathroom. You can enjoy sitting on the front porch with a view of the Big Eddy and the Narrowsburg Bridge over the Delaware River, or have more privacy in the backyard. Narrowsburg is the Eagle Capital of NYS and can often be seen overhead. The voices of many birds can be heard from the porch. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area - deer often walk through the backyard, while you are sitting there! My home is in walking distance of the Delaware River and all amenities, including the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Tusten Theater, restaurants, shopping, art galleries, fishing, canoeing, hiking, and biking. Close to Wayne County summer camps. We are less than 30 minutes away from entertainment in all directions - from Bethel Woods Center for the Performing Arts (15 miles), The Forestburgh Playhouse and Tavern (25 miles on lovely back roads), The Cooperage Project, Harmony Presents, great farmers markets, and so much more. Winter brings skiing, both downhill and cross country, snowshoeing, winter hikes. We are just 2 hours from the GW Bridge. Two cats presently reside here although they are not allowed in the guest room. Friendly dogs are OK as long as they don't bother the cats! There is an additional bedroom which is sometimes available, please ask for details. There is a train that goes by, once a night generally...I rarely hear it, but you may! REVIEW FROM AN ARCHITECT: Entering Jill’s room for rent is like stepping into another world. It is so peaceful and serene with a classic Old World feel. The high ceilings, large windows, and beautiful woodworking welcome you warmly. Jill has considered every detail - her choices of furniture, colors selected and textures of all the elements work in wonderful harmony. I especially enjoy the soft morning light that gently awakens you (though the full-height curtains can be used if you wish to sleep in). Coupled with a private attached bathroom, it’s a space that when entered is hard to leave! The entire house has the same warm, welcoming feeling and when you meet Jill, it’s obvious as to where it all originates. The house is just outside the main section of town with only short, pleasant walks to restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, clothing and gift shops, grocery stores, library, a local historic site (Fort Delaware), and of course the beautiful Delaware River – which you can watch spectacular sunsets from the front porch. Although Jill’s house is close to Main Street, it has a really secluded and private feel to it with a large backyard surrounded by mature trees and beautiful plantings. It’s not unusual to see a variety of birds, deer, woodchucks, squirrels and other wildlife wandering through. I have the extreme pleasure - and fortune – to rent a large attached addition to her house for my architectural office. Michael Chojnicki ** you will sometimes see Michael and maybe his employees, Robert or/or Karen as they will use the bathroom and sometimes make a meal. Guest AccessAll common areas are available for your use - the great room, with kitchen and dining area, the living room, both the back and front yard. Interaction with GuestsI live here and am somewhat available, but can certainly help guide you with information about the area! The NeighborhoodWhile centrally located in the town, we are also private in our location, set back from the road with a great view of the river. No neighbors on any side (a vacant house next door) and walking distance to pretty much anything you need! Getting AroundA short walk to stores, restaurants, the river and more! There is no public transportation, although there is a the Eagle Express from NYC to Narrowsburg on Friday nights that returns to NYC on Sunday afternoons during the summer months. Other Things to Note1 Night Minimum Please reduce, reuse and recycle! Kids under 12 months do not count toward your number of guests, 4 years or older counts toward your number of guests. Check-in time is after 3 p.m. Check-in times somewhat flexible. Check out time is 12 noon., but flexible if there is no guest checking in that day. Free WiFi. Local taxes included .
