The SpaceOur studio apartment is a very cozy space located in the downstairs of our home and is freshly painted with warm colors. Directly out your door is access to a fun trail system at Dewey Mountain Recreation Center. The apartment is also centrally located to access the Saranac Lake 6er ((website hidden)). The apartment is 0.7 miles from downtown Saranac Lake and is easily accessible by walking or biking. There are a number of fun things to do in Saranac Lake at any given time of the year. Please ask for recommendations and we'll be happy to help. The apartment is in the downstairs of our home with a private entrance. It has a full-size bed, futon couch, dining table, small kitchenette with stove, refrigerator (apartment size), microwave, and any kitchen equipment that you'd need. The bathroom has a stand up shower. There is access to wi-fi. We don't have a TV or cable in our house so there is no TV or cable access. There is 1 parking space for guests. We have 2 labs. They're super friendly and quiet but may bark as you come and go which doesn't bother us at all. The ceilings in the apartment are on the shorter side. They're 6'7" throughout the apartment but 6'6" in the shower. The space would be better for 2 people but can accommodate 4. There is a full-size bed and a full-size futon. Only 6 minute walk to Lake Flower and non-motorized boat launch, park with public tennis and basketball courts. 5 miles to Lake Placid. 25 minutes to Whiteface Mountain. My neighborhood is quiet, safe, and child-friendly. I love living so close to mountains, lake views, woods, as well as to so many amenities. Within walking distance, there's an antique shop, a brewery, Mexican, Italian, and Chinese restaurants, wilderness outfitting, Lake Flower boat launch, hardware store, great grocery options, auto, electronics, dollar store, and gas station. But it's also tucked away from hustle and bustle. For a woodsy walk, take a left on Edward Street, just off Cortez Lane, for a peaceful stroll into a neighborhood with woods and mountain views. This home is an Eco-Cottage and with that comes certain aspects that we followed to be more ecologically/environmental friendly: The landscape. Clover, micro clover and eco-grass are planted in an around the cottage. All are good for the soil, as they provide nitrogen to the soil, they do not require watering (conserving a natural resource) but also do not require pesticides which can leach into the ground water; the tall "weeds" are actually the Milkweed plant - these plants are vital for the survival of the Monarch butterfly during their long migration to Mexico. Milkweed is the preferred plant of this beautiful butterfly; the other weeds are dandelions, and wildflowers which are the first foods for the bees that are so vital to pollinate much of our food; The floor is concrete to take advantage of the natural cooling properties (55 degrees). If the windows are left closed during the hottest part of the day and opened at night the building should stay cool and comfortable and thus no need for A/C which consumes a huge amount of energy (conserving fossil fuels). The mattresses are organic foam made from soy beans traditional spring mattresses are mostly made with synthetic fibers or foam, which don't biodegrade. Cotton or wool stuffing can be processed with pesticides and other chemicals—some of them potentially carcinogenic. The carpet tiles, are from FLOR which is an ecologically friendly company whereas 65% of the product used to make the rugs are from post-consumer plastic. They are not made to roll up. Welcome to Camp To-No-Na, a truly gracious home nestled on the eastern shore of Lower Saranac Lake, NY. The Camp appears to have literally jumped out of a Ralf Lauren magazine cover with all of the period details intact, the Cross Beamed Great room with mounted animals lining the old wooden walls and the enormous original Fireplace made from local stone. Camp To-No-Na is literally steps from the waters edge with breathtaking sunset views and access to 25 Miles of unspoiled waterways. We are very lucky to have almost 500 feet of private lake frontage and only 40 or so houses on our whole lake!! The remainder is state owned and just as pristine as you might imagine! We wake to Loons every morning and Bald eagles are a common sight! This home was originally built in the early 1900's as a summer residence for a wealthy homeowner, and has been lovingly cared for and upgraded to accommodate today's lifestyles. The house has two acres of wooded land and complete and easy access from the town of Saranac Lake just a couple of miles away- 8 miles to Lake Placid and just a 20 minute ride to the local airport (SLK). Easily and quickly accessible to almost every comfort you might need. Groceries, restaurants, charming small town with local attractions, art walks, antiquing, etc...Location, Location, Location!! There is water access through 25 Miles of lakes and waterways from this property and you will find the quiet serenity you are looking for in the Adirondacks as there are only 35+/- homes on the whole lake-and ours has almost 500 Ft of Lakefront! We are mostly state owned and its just pristine!!! The sunsets are just glorious and the home retains all of the original details from the early 1900's with modern upgrades of course- but by all means still retains all of the old world charm!!!

The SpaceThe Green Room has one double bed. This room has a private bathroom with shower. Each room has a mini fridge, coffee pot, tea kettle and French press. Like all our rooms, there is a private entrance for guests. We also have two other unique rooms that might better fit your needs. PLEASE NOTE: During the warmer summer months there is an adjoining room with a double bed with large windows and a lovely view. However, this is not available in the winter. Guest AccessWe offer a selection of coffees and teas. There is a shared microwave in the hall, along with cups, dishes, cutlery, and wine glasses. We have WiFi, but no TV. Interaction with GuestsWe are available to help you plan your Adirondack adventures. The NeighborhoodOur big old home is tucked in a forest of dense trees, so it feel like you are hidden away in the heart of the Adirondacks. But we are just three miles from the Village of Saranac Lake. The mood is charming and nostalgic. Getting AroundThe driveway up to the Inn can feel a little bit steep in the snowy winter months. We work hard to make sure it's always plowed and sanded, but four wheel drive might be helpful if there is fresh snow. If you can't make it up the driveway, there is a plowed out area for parking at the bottom of the hill, and its less than a minute of walking to get to the Inn up the hill. Other Things to NoteWe are a traditional Guest House, and no longer a Bed & Breakfast. We don't serve food here at the inn, but we can point you to the best dining in nearby Saranac Lake.
