Bedrooms are all upstairs and include two queen bedrooms and a bedroom with two twin beds, each with special new non-allergenic, soy foam mattresses. The fourth bedroom has a new, full-size, sofa-bed plus a desk for anyone with work to do or a book to write! Master bedroom and bathroom are en-suite, and there is a second full bathroom upstairs in the hall. A third full bathroom is on the first floor. The colorful country kitchen has everything you need to make the best cup of coffee or cook up a storm, and it is laid out so that more than one cook can enjoy it at the same time! New appliances include a gas range top, double electric ovens, microwave, etc. The 28-ft open-plan kitchen/dining room is bright and airy and includes a table that seats 6 - 10. All ready for family breakfasts, a down-home meal, a sophisticated dinner party or a special celebration! SETTING: Nestled in the woods on the edge of Woodstock, you are less than 10 minutes from the center of the town of Woodstock. But you are also just about twelve minutes away from Saugerties for great antiquing and HITS! And if you have Mall withdrawal, a fifteen-minute drive will take you to Kingston for suburban shopping, or a quaint visit to the Stockade Area where the original capital of New York State was actually placed! THINGS TO DO: Woodstock, the original Colony of the Arts, is on the threshold of the 700,000-acre Catskill State Park, where a farming community settled by the Dutch in the 17th century found a way to accommodate all those crazy artists that arrived in the early 20th century. The beauty of the Catskill Mountains inspired the Byrdcliffe Art Colony, became the summer home of the New York Art Students League, and gave rise to the Maverick Concert Hall. There is more to do here than you can imagine! There are great restaurants and cafes boasting international cuisine as well as American, boutiques, antique stores, health-food stores, an art store, a movie house, two book stores, an exceptional shoe store, and the best hardware store in the world. And, of course, you can visit Byrdcliffe and The Woodstock Artists Association and Museum, or you can hear great chamber music in the woods at Maverick. Nearby you will find golf, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, tennis, river walks and even river dips, bike rentals, sledding and snow-shoeing. Check out galleries, the week-end flea market, mid-week farmer's market. And as you'd expect in Woodstock -- there’s a wide selection of yoga, massage, Pilates, Reiki, and Qigong, not to mention spa services. If esoterica is what you are after, psychic, tarot and astrological readings are of course always on offer! For fun, join the Sunday afternoon open drumming sessions on 'the village green' right in the center of town. You'll also find places of worship of many denominations: Catholic; Jewish; Christian; Hindu; Buddhist—Zen and Tibetan, plus several different spiritual retreat centers. We invite you to come see for yourself and greatly look forward to welcoming you! Guest AccessGuests will have access to the natural (filtered and lined) pond for swimming during the month of August and early September. After that, the pond is available for viewing. Interaction with GuestsNone, unless they have questions or issues, and then we are available at any time. The NeighborhoodTrees and grass, green and quiet. Lightly traveled road. Getting AroundA car is required. Other Things to Note**For your own peace of mind, please purchase Trip Insurance.**

The SpaceBuilt in 1774, this is the original farmhouse for the entire valley. The house has been lovingly renovated a number of times throughout its history, but it still retains its originals details and charm from the Revolutionary-War period. This is truly one of the more beautiful houses in the area. The house is handsomely situated on six secluded acres. It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room, a den, a separate dining room, a sun/breakfast room, and two lovely fireplaces. The kitchen is fully equipped for the most demanding of dinner parties. There is a bedroom downstairs that has a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. There is a master bedroom upstairs that has a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. This upstairs bathroom has a second entrance from the hallway for the use of the other two upstairs bedrooms, in addition to its being en-suite to the master bedroom. The third bedroom is upstairs and has two twin beds. The fourth bedroom is upstairs and has a full-size/double bed. There is a separate den downstairs with its own fireplace on its own side of the house just off the living room that nicely functions as a fifth bedroom, containing a queen-size sleeper sofa. There is also a queen-size sleeper sofa in the sun room and a twin-size day bed in the living room. The property has a 50-foot, heated, salt-water pool. In addition to the house, there is a charming art studio in a separate outbuilding and a barn that it used as a two-car garage and tool shop. Located just over the hill from the town square in Woodstock, the house is in Woodstock proper, just minutes from shops and restaurants in the center of town. The SpaceThis house centers around an enormous open main floor with open ceilings, making it perfect for gatherings of friends and family in a lodge-like space. In addition to a main fireplace, there are 3 wood burning stoves (including one in the master bedroom) making it great for cold winter nights. It's off the grid (just a landline - no cable, wi-fi or cell service) but that is the beauty of getting out of the city! The 4 bedrooms (2 twin, 1 full and 1 queen) are on the second floor around an octagonal balcony. The master bedroom includes a ladder up to the tower, perfect for (URL HIDDEN) a really quirky, unique space with a ton of character. A screened-in porch and huge wraparound deck are perfect for relaxing during the summer or having a bbq. The property sits on 25 acres of undeveloped woodlands so you have plenty of quiet and privacy. There's a hot tub on the deck as well! Guest AccessYou will have access to the entire house and property. The only areas off limits is the basement. Interaction with GuestsThis is a 2nd home for me. I use it as much as I can but will never be there when you are. The NeighborhoodWoodstock is an awesome town with really great restaurants, cool quirky shops, and even quirkier people. It's less than 2 hours drive from New York City and the perfect base for Winter activities (skiing at Windham or Hunter for instance) or hiking and swimming in the summer. Most of all, it's a great quiet area to get away from things and relax with friends. Getting AroundIt's best to have a car to get to Woodstock. If you have a group of friends coming at different times, it's possible for some to come via public transport and be picked up or take a taxi. Amtrak from NYC goes to Rhinebeck (30 minute drive) and Trailways Bus goes from Port Authority in NYC to the town of Woodstock (5 minute drive). Other Things to NoteCell Service is basically non-existent. And there is no cable or wi-fi so plan on shutting off for a bit! There is a landline though so you will have that to reach people or give to others to contact you during your stay. It's an easy to drive to town to get wi-fi however. Also note there is no air conditioning. However, there are fans and the house stays relatively cool in the summer.

The SpaceLocated on a quiet rural/suburban street 2 1/2 miles from the center of Woodstock with easy access to local sights, activities, entertainment and neighboring towns. Ample parking. Aprox. a 15 min. bike ride or 40 min. walk (mostly quiet) to town! The room is equipped with a full sized comfy bed, plenty of storage etc..your bathroom is a few short steps away in the hall. *Bedrooms are at one end of the house, common areas are located at the other end. The house is light and roomy and filled with comfortable and tasteful furnishings. It sits on a partially wooded lot with a large, unfenced yard. There is a deck off the kitchen. ****Please no smoking in or around the house.***** I prefer guests to arrive before 8 pm. and tend not to take last minute guests, though I can be flexible. Your host: I am an activities/expressive arts therapist and have raised 2 grown children in the 20 years+ that I've been a resident of Woodstock. I love to share my knowledge of this unique area and its inhabitants! Woodstock and environ is truly special and beautiful with diverse attractions - (like Zen and Tibetan monasteries), local streams for swimming, mountains for hiking and skiing, a golf course, great restaurants, a variety of musical venues, theatre, art, yoga and dance. Our little town plays host to world class festivals as well - The Woodstock Writers Festival in the spring and the Woodstock Film Festival in the fall, for example. Also, I discourage guests to come without their own car. Even though we are within a few miles of town (a nice walk or bike ride if you bring your bike), areas of interest are spread out, and public transportation is limited. Guests are welcome to use the fridge or freezer for a few items. I don't permit actual cooking. I try to be sensitive to the needs of the guest. The amount of interaction depends on a booking's particulars, however I do try my best to be present for arrival and departure. *Because all the bedrooms are close to each other, if guests wish a lot of privacy, it's best to book elsewhere. I like to say that the neighborhood is rural suburbia. It's quiet and pleasant for a walk or run. It is well situated for getting to town center and to the thruway. Best to have your own vehicle. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the fridge or freezer for a few items. I don't permit actual cooking. Interaction with GuestsI try to be sensitive to the needs of the guest. Best time: Year Round Best for: Romantic Arts and Culture Outdoors Say "Woodstock" and the legendary Summer of Love concert (actually held in a field in nearby Bethel, NY) immediately springs to mind. Visit the town of Woodstock, one of the Catskill Mountains best-known enclaves, and you'll be able to enjoy not only remnants of the late-'60s hippie era, but also a thriving arts scene, a robust culinary revival, and access to outdoor activities from hiking and kayaking to skiing. Meanwhile, nearby Saugerties is transitioning from sleepy to chic with the addition of a new luxury hotel and restaurants headed by chefs who've relocated from New York. Summer and fall (when weekend concert series and arts festivals up the liveliness quotient) are optimal times to visit these Ulster County towns, but cozy inns and eateries serving hearty fare make even the colder months enjoyable. For an artsy weekend in the mountains, here are our favorite spots to eat, play and stay.

It is surrounded by pine trees and is located only a 3 minute drive from Woodstock's center. The home has tons of light, a media room for dvd's and a warm cozy feeling. It is a great family vacation place since there is space to run outside and the acre is fully fenced in. We have a nice one mile loop right outside our gate where you can walk, run or bike. The SpaceWhile our house is not perfect, we believe you will find it beautiful, comfy and welcoming. There is a flow to the first floor living space that makes it a comfortable gathering space for families. Turn off the TV and gather around the dining room table for game night. Lounge while enjoying a cocktail on the screened porch. Guests are welcome to use the gas grill (prior approval) on the patio (work in progress). The screened porch is also a great space for yoga or reading. We have a beautiful tuned upright piano in the living room that guests are welcome to play. Guests do not have access to garage, bedroom closets or downstairs area. Interaction with GuestsIf you are looking for a house where the owner is always on sight to help you navigate your stay - this is not the house for you. Someone will almost always be available to welcome you to the property, do a walk through to introduce you to the house and get you keys. There is a private apartment (it's very private with it's own entrance) in the downstairs of the house where our assistant property manager lives. He is respectful and helpful - not just a tenant, more like family. My partner and I live 5 minutes from the location - close enough to address problems if any should arise or just assist our guests with finding a great restaurant or private swimming hole. You will be provided both our cell phone numbers when you book. We look forward to welcoming you to Woodstock and The Catskill Mountains! The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is quiet and family oriented. People from the surrounding area come to walk their dogs, push babies in their stroller or run. Be prepared for people waving 'hello' to you when you drive by. The house is set back from the road up a driveway behind the other houses, so there is a true sense of privacy even though it is a thickly settled neighborhood. Getting AroundThe Trailways and UCAT buses both travel down Rt. 375 and the driver will usually stop across from the Hurley Ridge Market if you ask - just make sure you ask as you are getting on the bus. The house is 1/2 mile from the Hurley Ridge Market. Other Things to NoteHere in the country we have well water and a septic system. Please be mindful of your water use and DO NOT flush anything except toilet paper down the toilets. We are making improvements to our space; the patio is still a work in progress but you can use the BBQ grill with prior permission from us. We are also tiling the hearth in our living room and apologize for any mess or inconvenience as there are no fires in the wood stove during the summer. And also note there is a BURN BAN in effect so outdoor open fires are strictly prohibited. If anything breaks or is not functioning, please make us aware so we know to replace or repair it. If you experience any problems or issues, please let us know so we can address them. You may use the washer/dryer; please supply your own detergent. The towels located above the dryer are for any messes that might need to be cleaned up. Extra linens are located in the white bedroom and in each bedroom's closets.

The SpaceLocated so conveniently, the Zena Farmhouse is only minutes away from the center of Woodstock, the most famous little town in the world! A few minutes east will take you to Saugerties for some fine antiquing or the horse shows at HITS. And Kingston is a fast trip to the south, where you can enjoy the waterfront, see a blockbuster movie, or--if you just must—visit the mall! And Rhinebeck and Bard College are just a hop, skip, and jump across nearby Hudson River. Inside you feel that you’re million miles away from the rest of the world while you’re actually quite close to all the culture, food, and fun that Woodstock and the Hudson Valley have to offer. Built in 1874, the Zena Farmhouse has been tastefully renovated. Set on 3 acres, the house has retained the character of its time, but it has been updated with all the modern amenities. You’ll find hardwood floors and the original banister and stairs, but the kitchen is thoroughly modern, with a 5-burner gas stove, a microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of period-style cabinets for storage of a wide collection of cookware and utensils. The ambiance is very welcoming. The house is bright with light yet warm and cozy. Can you feel hugged by a house? With this one you can. And the Zena Farmhouse is equally comfortable for one couple, or for a large family gathering. The common areas are varied and plentiful: The wood-burning fireplace in the living room invites get-togethers and conversation, and the family room with wood burning stove invites total relaxation in front of the wide-screen TV. If you want to read a book or have to do some work while you’re here, there is a comfortably furnished office with a desk, and bookshelves filled of books that you are welcome to enjoy during your stay. But one of the best spots for conviviality is the wooden dining table—handmade specifically for this house many years ago and constructed in situ. This lovely table seats 8, and provides a beautiful view of the backyard and hillside. All three bedrooms are on the second floor, along with the newly renovated full bath. (The half-bath is downstairs.) The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the two guest bedrooms are each furnished with full-size beds. The house sleeps 6 adults comfortably. The SpaceDiscover the peace and beauty of your own secluded Arts + Crafts-style house perched on the southern ridge of Ohayo Mountain with an expansive (180 degree) view of the Ashokan Reservoir and surrounding mountains. Watch the sun rise above the Hudson River Valley and set behind the high peaks of the Catskill Mountains (and see the colors reflected not only in the clouds above, but also in the water below). On a clear day, you can see the Mohonk tower in the Shawangunk range due south. On a cloudy day, the formations drift past you like passing sailing ships! This idyllic Woodstock retreat started out as a rustic mountain cabin with a large stone fireplace and exposed chimney. Since then it has been expanded and updated by a master stone mason and carpenter to include two second floor bedroom wings (each accessed by separate stairways) with cathedral ceilings, oversize picture windows, and glass doors that open onto private balconies. The first floor “great room” consists of a country kitchen with a breakfast bar/island, a living room with a free-standing cast-iron fire stove (as well as the original fireplace), and a dining area with sliding glass doors that open onto a spacious railed, multi-level deck with steps down to a stone patio that wraps around the house and descends partway down the mountain in a series of terraced gardens. In addition there’s a TV/music room with an upright piano and large flat screen TV, and a smaller guest bedroom opposite the first floor bathroom with a vintage claw foot tub and porcelain sink. The upstairs bathroom is tiled in cobalt blue, and features a large walk-in shower with a built-in tiled bench. A landing at the top of the east-wing stairway features a reading nook with a built-in cushioned bench and bookcase. There are examples of artistic craftsmanship in the woodwork, much of which is shaped/carved or inlaid; the stonework, which blends natural living rock formations with dry-laid meandering walls, steps, pathways and patios; and the gardens of flowering shrubs, vines, exotic trees and perennials. As charming as the house and grounds are, the real attraction is the breathtaking unobstructed view, which is visible from every room of the house and every patio, porch, deck, terrace and lookout on the property. In fact, you can even relax in a rustic plunge pool (12 ft. in diameter and 5 ft deep) that is built into an escarpment of rock on the far edge of the patio and enjoy the view from there! Well-behaved dogs are considered. Please ask! Please note that a $75 pet fee per dog applies.
