The SpaceRustic cottage, in a suburban neighborhood, three miles (five minutes) from the town of Mount Kisco and train station . (lots of restaurants , stores , everything you would need) but in a country setting looking out at the woods with the occasional deer and turkey. The cottage has an open floor plan with sink with hot and cold water, small fridge, stove, Heat, AC, fan, wi-fi, cable TV, stereo, video, grill, The bathroom for guests is located on the first floor of the main house. Your access is through the back door. All cellular networks work in my yard with the exception of Verizon Unfortunately Costs are higher in the colder months due to the rising oil/propane costs, and decline in the warmer weather when mother nature is at her best Taxi Cab Companies:(if arriving by train) (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) (kisco cab) (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) (mt kisco taxi) Local take out menus available inside the shed great for a quiet few days or for those of you who really want to take advantage of things in the area think about renting a zip car.. Guest AccessBathroom for shower and toilet in Main House. Towels, shampoo, bath gel etc all provided. Washer/drier available in the basement for those spending a week. Interaction with GuestsVery friendly person- happy to point out things of interest and do whatever i can to make you feel comfortable The NeighborhoodI live in a suburban neighborhood with my house being set in an extremely private setting at a dead - very tranquil surrounded by woods and thick plantings…. Close proximity to town(three miles/5 minutes- lots of restaurants and amenities), but in close proximity to many quaint towns, beautiful countryside, cultural interests, lots of outdoor hiking , biking etc Summer thick plantings and flowers.. .. Foliage in Fall is grande! winter well that depends on what you like.. Spring again glorious as the trees bloom and flowers burst Cultural interests; Westchester- Katonah , Neuberger and Hudson River Museum. Wave Hill- Bronx Chuang Yen Monastery (Carmel NY-largest buddha western hemisphere) , CT- Philip Johnson Glass House, Aldrich, Bruce and Stamford Museum, Jacob Burns Film Center ,Caramoor, Storm King, Rockefeller Home, The Dia Museum, Cold Spring, Bear Mountain, The Garden Conservancy open gardens (see beautiful private gardens) Blue Hill at Stone Barns. History: check out historic Hudson Valley: Kykuit, Sunny Side, Olana, Philipsburg Manor, Van Cortlandt park , Lyndhurst, Manitoba BIKING: lots of trails.. use the link- north and south county trail ways bike maps for various routes. Bike Sundays- close Bronx River Parkway during certain Sundays Parks: Bear Mountain, Ward Pound Ridge, Rockefeller Park(rte 117). Stone Barns, Croton Dam HIKING: Mianus Gorge w waterfalls,Teatown Reservation - Ossining, Turkey Mountain- Yorktown, Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve,Arthur W. Butler Memorial Sanctuary- near Mount Kisco, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation-Pound Ridge, Westmoreland Sanctuary-near Mount Kisco, Sundays: Elephants Trunk Vintage Flea market every sunday-April -Nov 7a-2p Beacon Flear Market Rockland - Edward Hopper House Nyack Metro North Train or drive to/from city (NYC discount parking on line available). i am on hour from NYC whether train or car.. Getting AroundMetro North Train to/from NYC (1 hr) or drive to many things of interest within an hour.. Train also to connecticut and towns north. Taxis abundant. Best for people with a car.. some rent on price line very inexpensively if they don't have one...or if you like to bike, Or if you want to just rest , read, do your craft you can take a cab from the train station and have a quiet weekend. Food delivery of all kinds available (Greek, Thai , Indian, Chinese, Italian, Sushi) Other Things to NoteDogs--- will consider small NON-shedding dogs for an extra fee of $25. All poops must be disposed of in the woods, and the dog must have their own bed. You must inquire for a dog as i don’t generally take them NO USE OF CANDLES OR OILS in the cottage NO SMOKING IN THE COTTAGE... outside with use of ashtray yes DO NOT EVER touch the OVER HEAD LIGHT WITH THE METAL COVERING **During the extreme cold winter months(jan.feb, sometimes dec) for those of you who want to enjoy peace and quiet and the occasional winter wonderland... the water is turned off to avoid freezing pipes.. so order in.. dinners out.. or prepared foods.. still have the fridge , toaster, coffee pot.. etc.. Big jug of water for that and tea...i am also delighted to have coffee/milk available and made for you in the house Strong Wi-Fi We have a house cat named Poo. Poo is very friendly and will come in for a visit only if you leave the cottage door open. Please be mindful when shutting the door that she does not get locked in( and if you don't want him.. shoo him away gently). We have a remote light that comes on with movement and solar path lights and battery operated lanterns for extra lamination for late night bathroom walks(very close to main house) Ping Pong, books.. other games available . Bathroom/shower is used in the main house.(hoping next season for an outdoor shower.. mb a toilet) one hour massages available by appointment indoor or outdoor if you want some extra pampering Please leave the cottage as you found it.. much appreciated

Can help with dinner recommendations, or if you prefer dining in, can arrange that. The NeighborhoodMy house is located in the Teatown area of Croton on Hudson. There are 14 miles of hiking trails, Wildflower Island and over 900 acres of preserved open space. Across the road is Bald Mountain; hike to the top and you can see the skyline of Manhattan. Getting AroundThe Croton Harmon train station is 8 minutes away. Other Things to NoteYou can climb to the top of Bald Mtn which is across from my pond. It's the second highest peak in northern Westchester. Teatown Lake Reservation has 14 miles of hiking trails, Wildflower Island, lake and over 850 acres of preserved open space. My house is located in an area called Teatown. I also produced a book for TLR on the history of Teatown.

This is the upper floor of a raised ranch house located in a quiet residential neighborhood surrounded by woods. The space has a nice deck complete with patio furniture and bbq. Lots of space and furnished, very lovely.

Interaction with GuestsHosts are available to help out if needed. Affiliated with nearby farm with organic gardens which can be available for tours. Fresh organically grown produce, cut flowers and eggs are available for purchase (in season). The NeighborhoodMany historical attractions close by. Minutes from the 22 mile North County Trailway Bike Path & the 208 acre Kitchawan Preserve with great hiking. Millwood is a few miles away with 24 hour deli, coffee shop, pizza and other amenities. Mt Kisco, Croton, Pleasantville, Chappaqua are all conveniently located 10-15 min away. Lots of other great hiking at nearby 1,000 acre Teatown Lake Reservation. Getting AroundYour own vehicle is the best way to get around but local taxi's and limo services are available. The hosts may be able to provide transport to and from train stations and airports for additional fees. The SpaceThis uniquely built, custom home on a private 3 acres has a gorgeous farm house kitchen with a cherry wood island and granite counter tops. Enjoy seating at the kitchen island overlooking the sunken great room with a stone wall of rocks from the estate forming a fireplace. Enjoy the front wood mahogany porch or sip your morning drink on the back patio high above the tree line overlooking a large backyard and pool. The master bath has a centered, raised jacuzzi under a Palladium window. The bonus room is cozy and spacious, located above the 3 car garage. It's living at its best! The NeighborhoodThis house is nestled in a very private neighborhood, surrounded by original farm stone walls to give you a country-like feeling. Only 6 houses exist on a manicured, private street so nature abounds! The view of the Croton Reservoir is breathtaking from the kitchen and breakfast nook! Spacious and stately house on 25 acres was once an inn near the old Putnam Rail Line. The house is less than 1,000 feet from the site of the old Kitchawan Train station & post office.
