The SpaceThe home itself is cottage like, with space outside for dining and room for children and pets to run and play. Please note though, the yard is not fully fenced. Also please be aware that the house has many steps and will not be a good fit for people who have a hard time with steps.
A kitchen with all the essentials needed to make a meal and a dining room table are also provided. Wi-Fi internet and cable are also included. For the price of a cheap hotel stay, you can have 10X the space and a full kitchen in a nice, cozy home with a yard. So why would you stay in a cheap hotel? Book now with our home and you will not regret it.
We often get questions about air conditioning in the house. The house in the summer has air conditioning window units but does not have central air. Guest AccessThe entire home is open for your convenience. Interaction with GuestsWe live just a few houses away and we are happy to give you tips and information about the surrounding area and Cleveland. And if we are cooking a sit down meal during the nights of your stay (which is most nights), you are always welcome to come dine with us.
You are also welcome to come tour our current historic home. It is an 1899 Victorian that was designed by the famed architect Sydney Badgley. We are in the process of restoring the home and welcome those who would like a tour.
My husband and I are also well versed in the restaurant scene here in Cleveland. We are more than happy to guide you to some of the best dining that Cleveland has to offer, and not just the high end stuff. We know the dives as well as the high end so we can point you to the best places to eat that fit your budget. The NeighborhoodMaybe you need to visit one of Cleveland's many award winning hospitals but don't want to stay in Downtown Cleveland? Maybe you are visiting the area but want to get a more authentic experience of what it is like to live in a small town in the USA but still close to the city? Maybe you have a family with kids or pets (or both) and you are looking for a location that will allow you to visit Cleveland affordably and safely? Perhaps you are a business traveler who wants a quiet place to stay while visiting the area? If any of these sound like you, you have found the perfect house for your stay. This house is wonderful for anyone who wants to be able to experience Cleveland's events, services, landmarks and dining, but not be in the middle of it all.
And when you are not visiting Cleveland, Bedford has its own charms and activities to offer. The home is a short walk away from the quaint Bedford city center with small shops, restaurants, weekly summer festivals and concerts as well as close proximity to the award winning Cleveland Metro Parks (aka The Emerald Necklace) will give any visitor something to do that is close by to the home. There is also a playground and public pool about a block away. Truly, this is small town USA very close to the "big city".
We are also located just 2 blocks from fire, EMT and police stations and 3 blocks from a hospital with an emergency room and a medevac helipad. We hope that you would never need these services, but it is nice to know that if you need them, they are very, very close. Getting AroundLocated in a suburb of Cleveland, OH, we are 20 minutes by car and 35 minutes by bus from Downtown Cleveland. The house is 1/2 block from the bus stop and there is a direct bus line (76) from that stops at Public Square in the heart of Downtown Cleveland.
We are about 30 minutes from the airport, but it is nearly a straight shot down I-480 to get from the airport to our home. Other Things to NoteThe driveway will only fit 2 cars. Additional cars must be parked on the street or can be parked in our driveway a few houses away.
