The SpaceLuxurious, spacious, and very comfortable with a newer queen size bed along with being very quiet, safe, private should make a stay in this home as nice or better than the best hotels...... ...short of the turn-down service. :-) The house is convenient to all things in Cincinnati; a ten/fifteen minute drive or less to virtually everything in Cincinnati. The bus stop is a one minute walk away; if need be. It was a two family home; a microwave, baking/toaster oven, along with a refrigerator make it a living area more like an apartment than any hotel room. High ceilings, crown molding, ceiling fans, central air, along with a back-up, additional, window unit air conditioner for the warmest summer months that make the downstairs cooler than the upstairs in this older home add to making for a more luxurious experience. High thread count sheets. Lots of choice in pillows. A peaceful overlook of a very private backyard garden with nothing but flowering perennials, a re-circulating creek, waterfall, and pond gives the sound of water running if the window is opened. A view of greenery and flowering plants, Spring through Fall, through the two windows that overlook the backyard garden in the bedroom and through a large, picture, window at the backend of the bathroom add to the sense of privacy, quiet, and beauty. A Jacuzzi spa tub with water jets is against the bathroom's back wall with a large picture window over-looking the garden. A large, domed, skylight above the tub gives a view of the day or night sky in the remodeled, tiled, shower in black and white with bidet along with a multiple wall and ceiling lights including a built-in ceiling heat lamp for the feeling of extra warmth in the winter months. You have your own, private, entrance to the second floor. A chandelier and large, antique, stain glass window graces the stairway on your way upstairs. The large chandelier and nine foot window makes for a well-lit stairway/entryway. Guest AccessYou have your own, private, entrance to the apartment. . Interaction with GuestsIf I can be of any assistance during your stay in Cincinnati I would hope to be able and free to help. Since I am retired and so familiar with this city; If you have any need of advice or assistance with this city I am most likely able to help. If you want to remain completely private I can respect this just the same. Again, You have your own entrance and your own floor of the (URL HIDDEN) there is no need to interact if you choose not to do so. It's your call. Otherwise, if you are interested in any friendly help, directions or suggestions for getting around and getting along well in Cincinnati; I am a good and helpful resource. Knowing the ins and outs of Cincinnati like the back of my hand; anything and everything to do with the Cincinnati area I can be a real help. I have been very active in the Cincinnati community both professionally and socially. The NeighborhoodIt is safe, quite, convenient, with new, wide, sidewalks. Let me emphasize. Your stay will be quiet, safe, and comfortable. There can be an umbrella by the door for your use should you need it. An ironing board and iron, a hair dryer, and all the little tubes and bottles that you would normally find in a five star hotel and more. The bus stop is a minute's walk away should that ever be a need. We have our own neighborhood newsletter which you are welcome to peruse for any events or socials at the swimming pool, park, basketball, tennis court just three blocks away down Hand Avenue. Spring Grove Village is rising in value. The house is a three minute walk or a one minute drive from the second largest cemetery in the country, inside city limits, next to Arlington in DC. The 733 acre area is a significant value for anyone who likes to get out and walk, run, explore and/or enjoy outdoor events. The cemetery is viewed as a park and used as a park with regular events, tram tours, free outdoor movies, segway tours, day and night nature tours, concerts, owl nights, and much more. The 733 acre area is, also, an arboretum with a nature preserve attached. There are 16 large ponds with geese and two swans in the largest pond with fountains gushing water 30 feet into the air continuously, large man made waterfall, and wooden walkways over parts of the ponds. Johnny Appleseed's bronze, true to life and size, statue stands in symbol of America's many apple trees. An area with a civil war cannon is dedicated to the civil war era. Many mausoleums, old, gothic style church building, rolling hills, labeled trees, bushes, and plants. (URL HIDDEN) has it's own built-in calender of events. It's worth viewing the site if you'd like to get out for a walk during your stay. 37 miles of road used for walking and bike riding with 733 acres of well-tended perennial, flowering, plants, trees and bushes with large annual displays every year. Most of the cities greenhouses, with retail shopping, are in this neighborhood; three of them in a row and a ten minute walk from the house. I know them well, of course, with the backyard perennial garden calling for new editions every year since 91 - a perennial plant, bush and vine garden around the re-circulating, backyard creek, waterfall and pond. We are close to downtown via an entrance to I-75 just five minutes away. It is centrally and most conveniently located. We have a community, neighborhood, shared vegetable garden for those who want to participate. Eight minutes from the University of Cincinnati with all the interests and offerings of a large college along with Xavier University being on the other side of the neighborhood about ten minutes away. Close to many city parks and over-looks of the city. Downtown: Fountain Square where many festivals, afternoon and evening shows of all sorts, live music and a large screen for movie night and for the Reds and Bengals games. (a ten minute drive with parking under the Square) There is a new park (10 minutes away) downtown: called Washington Park: just outside of Cincinnati's Music Hall (home to our world-renowned orchestra, the opera and ballet) is brand new; offering live music, free outdoor movies, 'live' jazz and bluegrass every Thursday and Friday, lots of green space, waterpark, walkways, public/free exercise: free yoga and free salsa lessons. There is parking underneath the park. Getting AroundIt seems like I've answered: Convenient to everything. Most all of Cincinnati is within 10 minutes; including the river. The bus stop, going in both directions, is a minute walk from the door. I may be available to pick you up at the airport and/or take you back; including showing you around town if you would so choose, running some errands, a day of shopping? - things of that sort. I enjoy getting out and enjoying the events, festivals, art and music shows, concerts and restaurants in Cincinnati. May be available to give a ride. Uber is everywhere along with existing taxi companies. Other Things to NoteIf you are bringing someone else into my home I need to know in advance. Generally, I prefer to have it as a rule that no one else comes in my home. You are 15 minutes from downtown, 10 minutes from the University of Cincinnati, 10 minutes from Xavier University, 1 minute drive and a five minute walk from one of the largest inner city arboretums in the country with 37 miles of single lane road, 733 acres with many ponds filled with geese and ducks, waterfalls, and fountains. 8 minutes to the zoo 10 minutes from The Aronoff theater, Know Theater and The Playhouse in Eden Park. 10 minutes or less to 10 parks with overlooks of the city; as Cincinnati, like Rome, is built on seven hills. 8 minutes to the Natural History museum and the Lindner surround sound Omnimax theater inside the museum. It is the old Union Terminal; the former train station hub of Cincinnati. That's quite the building which houses a children's museum as well. 15 minutes to the new Banks on the River with the Reds stadium and Bengals stadium on either side....including a large, new, outdoor music amphitheater. Cincinnati is in the midst of a long awaited revival of downtown with many new restaurants that have outdoor, open-air, seating along the downtown sidewalks. You can easily research this major resurgence as being one of the most thorough renewals of the city's downtown area in the country; including a new streetcar system nearing it's completion, now. You can tell; I do like this city. The city that reminds me most of Cincinnati is San Francisco

The SpaceSpacious, beautiful historic bed and breakfast located just 10 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. A full Breakfast served every morning!! The Underground Railroad was a human train that did not run on rails. Its "passengers" were runaway slaves seeking freedom in the years leading to the Civil War. "Conductors" included enslaved and free blacks and abolitionist whites who offered hiding places, clothing, food and direction. "Stations" were homes, churches and barns that provided safe haven. Because of its location just across the river from slaveholding Kentucky , Ohio evolved into a major route on the Underground Railroad. One of the major routes ran through the community of College Hill along Hamilton Pike, now known as Hamilton Avenue . Several homes in the community were used as safe houses for those escaping. Their goal was to get to Canada because although Ohio was a free state it was not safe because of the Fugitive Slave Laws of 1850. Runaways and conductors know better than to stop on this side of the river for fear of being captured and taken back to the South. Built between 1850 and 1860 by noted abolitionist Zebulon Strong, this beautiful home has a unique connection to the Underground Railroad. Zebulon was a Quaker and a farmer. Documents in the Ohio Historical Library speak of him having a “false bottom” in his farming wagon where he would pick up his “passengers” along the Mill Creek which runs along the side of property. He would hide the runaways in the bottom of his wagon and put his crops on the top and take them up to the house for a safe respite before moving them further up Hamilton Pike to the next safe house along the route. Our goal is to maintain the integrity of the home by honoring its original use of providing food and shelter to weary travelers. We welcome you and your family with warm hearts and open arms!

The SpaceVery convenient location on a street dominated by homeowners. Historic outside with college feel/style and an open layout inside. Make sure to look at pictures of the 2 futons if there is more than two people staying. I mostly get traveling students and nurses in this apartment, and they seem to love it. You can here the church bells ring every hour if windows are open, but you may also hear the parties on vine street if it's Friday or Saturday night. Cincinnati is a large city with a metro area of about 3 million metro residences. My neighborhood is an urban neighborhood with many old historic buildings right near the heart of the city. The street is very safe with friendly neighbors that own their own homes. If you are from the Detroit metro area, you need to remember that Cincinnati is nothing like Detroit. I have a lot of you guys come down and are very confused about urban neighborhoods. Older historic urban neighborhoods here are much safer than in Detroit, and to compare a middle class Cincinnati urban neighborhood to whatever it is your scared of up there is frankly insulting. In the 6 years that I have lived here, no one I know of has ever had any issues of any kind with any form of crime. (No refunds just because someone doesn't like the neighborhood.) Getting AroundOne street over from vine street which has multiple bus stops with multiple lines. You can also walk to most of the cities most interesting areas easily. The SpaceLocation is brilliant! Queen size bed and couch in large bedroom. 1 large comfortable sofa in living room. Guest AccessAmerican cell phone provided for foreigners if needed. Kitchen, bathroom, privet master bedroom, living/dinning room... entire apartment except for my bedroom. "Your bedroom" has an AC unit. ( No central AC), but its the 2nd floor apartment in between 2 units with central AC in an historical brick building, so it generally stays pretty cool for the summer throught the apartment. Interaction with GuestsWe are LGBT people, but are friendly and social with people of all backgrounds. My bf and I can interact with you as much or as little as you would like. I also have 2 other temporary roommates/guests who are very nice. People that choose this apartment are generally more social, and I tend to interact with them a lot. Compared to my other listings, the value of this apartment are the people. I have been told by many guest that when they stay here, they feel like they are visiting friends. I love giving tours of the city if I have time while your here. I mostly work from home, and I am in and out of this apartment a lot. I kind of use it as my home base, so you will be seeing a lot me if you are here long term. The NeighborhoodIt's a quite street, but if you want the noise, you don't have to go far. Getting AroundCincinnati is a very walkable city, and this place is convenient to most everything interesting in the city. Other Things to NoteThis is a very social and GAY friendly apartment, and we all speak Spanish! We hang out here, have guests frequently for drinks and or dinner parties. There are 4 of us in the apartment at the moment, but your bedroom is privet. Also, I sometimes dog sit, so there may be a dog or 2 depending on when you come, however no dogs officially live here. The SpaceThe bed is a brand new full sized bed from IKEA. New carpeting has just been put in as well. The room has it's own closet and private bathroom. The bedroom is a little small and has no direct windows outside, but there is a glass door to enter that can provide light if you want it. Guest AccessWe will be sharing a kitchen and laundry room. Aside from that, you have your own private, full bath in your bedroom. I have towels, blankets, etc for anyone who stays, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. I also have wifi available to anyone staying the night. Interaction with GuestsI will likely be in the house when you stay here. My bedroom is on the top floor. I can stay out of your way or show you around as much as you prefer and my schedule allows. The NeighborhoodThis is definitely an up-and-coming neighborhood. I live on the border of Over-the-Rhine and Mt. Auburn (my street technically divides the two). It is a pretty short walk to Findlay Market and Rhinegeist Brewery (5 minute walk or so) among other attractions. 10+ Minute walk to the happenings on Main Street and Vine Street where most of the restaurants and bars are. Please be aware that this is an urban neighborhood that does have some crime around it. If you feel uncomfortable in this type of setting, it might be best to look somewhere else. That being said, I feel safe in my neighborhood and my street is pretty quiet. On my street there are a couple of houses boarded up, apartments renting for market rate, and homes selling upwards of $350,000. This is a rapidly changing neighborhood that is seeing constant reinvestment. Getting AroundIf you are comfortable in urban neighborhoods you will feel just fine here. Walking around at night (especially if you have been drinking) is always something you should be careful about regardless of what city or neighborhood you are staying in. If you prefer, there is very easy parking on the street outside of the house. There is also a bus that takes you downtown and to the University of Cincinnati pretty regularly (the #17 comes about every 15 minutes or so at peak hours and stops around midnight). Uber/Lyft are also available in Cincinnati and should cost the minimum fare ($4-5 during regular, non-peak hours) to get downtown or to the University of Cincinnati. Other Things to NoteIt's noted elsewhere, but I do have a cat. If you are very allergic to cats, I would not recommend that you stay here. That being said, mild allergies shouldn't be a problem. I keep the door to the spare bedroom closed at all times and regularly wash the sheets/blankets, so your allergies should not bother you too much in the bedroom.

The SpaceSweet nook of a home that's vibrant and soothing in all the right places. Built perfectly for two there is a large couch in the living room with chaise and/ or a twin cot that could accommodate an extra person(or two if you all really like each other) There is a small kitchen with a mini fridge, microwave, convection/broiler/toaster oven, electric skillet, sink, plates, and pantry items. Certain items are always stocked like teas and sugar but something special comes from the room best traveled and this is sometimes in the form of Colombian roasted coffee or microwave popcorn. The living room has a blue ray player and a few DVD choices as well as a Chromecast for all streaming needs. Also there's usually a dog bed set up if you're traveling with your furry friend. I'm happy to be has available to you as much as you'd like. I usually come say hi at least once but I'm generally pretty hands off. Always open for a text or call if you need me. Very quiet neighborhood within 10-15 mins of downtown, shopping and grocery store a mile down the road. Top end of a cul-de-sac, the house doesn't have a ton of traffic right outside and usually the loudest sounds are the wind chimes . There is a mainline bus stop 1 block away Because the apartment is evolving she is never the same twice, visitors are always leaving good vibes in her walls and sometimes a jar of peanut butter in the pantry. It is our hope that the apartment retains some of the worldliness that her visitors bring with them, sometimes these are special notes left on her chalk board or suggestions to future guests as to the best delivery places. We are completely pet friendly within moderation- please no llamas- come on over and find a new nuance or piece of artistic vision. The SpacePrivate bedroom with full bed on bedframe. Room is equipped with a nightstand, dresser, and large closet. The full bathroom is steps away. The Owl Room got a new bedframe and mattress on May 21, 2015. Guest AccessYou will have access to the first floor including kitchen, dining room, and family room. Kitchen includes microwave, toaster, stove, and fridge. The home has two large porches for relaxing. Access to free laundry facilities per request Interaction with GuestsI use a lockbox so guests can check-in when works best for them. This means I am often not home to greet guests when they check-in, especially if it is late at night or during the workday. My bedroom and bathroom is on the second floor of the home. We may see each other in passing. I am available if you need directions or recommendations. I occasionally work on the weekends. I try to make myself available to answer questions and give recommendations, but there may be times I am not available including when I am at work. You may also have interaction with my dogs. Worf is a 7 year old Glen Terrier and Joshua is a 2 year old Mastiff mix. Both are friendly and love people. You may see them when they go outside, but they are generally not loose on the first floor. There may be other guests in the home at the same time as you. You would be sharing access to the first floor bathroom with other guests or visitors. The NeighborhoodEclectic, family-friendly, safe urban neighborhood. This is the type of neighborhood where everyone will say "hello!" if they see you out and about. Within walking distance of a large grocery store and some dining. Close to food, shopping, gas stations, entertainment, and nightlife. From Wikipedia: Spring Grove Village (formerly known as Winton Place) is a neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is located just off Interstate 75 in the Mill Creek Valley. Approximately 2,600 residents live in an area just under 2 square miles (5.2 km2). It is bordered by the neighborhoods of Clifton, Northside, College Hill, and Winton Hills, and the city of St. Bernard. Fifteen churches of ten different denominations call Spring Grove Village home, as do an active community council, youth center, and business association. Two elementary schools (Winton Montessori and the Cincinnati Waldorf School) reside in this neighborhood, as does Harmony Lodge, known for showcasing barbershop quartets. Historically known as both The Mill Creek Township Farm and Spring Grove, this canal and railroad town was incorporated in 1882, then annexed[1] to the city of Cincinnati in November 1903. Chester Park, a horse track and amusement park, thrived here from 1891 to 1932. Many homes in the area were designed by noted architect Samuel Hannaford (who also designed Music Hall), and several even bear his signature. For many years the neighborhood was known as Winton Place. Railroad lines to the north from Cincinnati Union Terminal passed through the Winton Place station. In early 2007, the residents of Winton Place officially voted to change the name to Spring Grove Village, honoring the history and character of the neighborhood and its roots. Spring Grove Village is perhaps best known today for the nationally recognized Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum. Getting AroundPlenty of free, safe street parking. Within walking distance of a large grocery store, gas stations, fast food and sit down dining, and Spring Grove Cemetary. Other Things to NoteIf you are afraid of dogs, this might not be the place for you. Two dogs live in this home. You may have contact with them. They like people and are friendly. Worf is a 7 year old Glen terrier, approximately 30 lbs. Joshua is a 2 year old mastiff mutt mix and weighs 100 lbs. Both dogs are crated when I am not home. When I am home the dogs are with me on the 2nd floor. You will not have to care for them nor have more than minimal contact. While I do my best, you may come into contact with dog fur.
