Pets are not allowed in the room Smoking is not allowed in the room About Hammersmith and Fulham Residents in Hammersmith (or as the locals say, Hammertown) work hard and play hard. A commuter central - Hammersmith boasts an underground tube station, an overground train station, and motorway access into and out of West London; it's no surprise that this neighborhood is home to a few multinational corporations (and their latest acquisitions). A busy day in the office typically ends with a healthy pint of beer by the river, which runs to the west of this neighborhood. Although not much of the Hammersmith's historic hamlet is left, there is one terribly important attraction that has remained intact: the original Dove pub. Soak in the river views from the pub's terrace while enjoying a pint or two of cold beer. Hammersmith's well-loved local pub was a favorite of Hemingway. Notoriously fond of drinking, the writer spent countless hours in this customary watering hole. Come summertime, the Hammersmith riverside is packed with very thirsty adults. When you do feel guilty finishing the entire barrel, join the local rowing club to kick-start your way to a healthier lifestyle. The Hammersmith Apollo (now called the Eventim Apollo) is one of the UK's most celebrated music venues. Despite its multiple name changes over the years, its art deco structure has constantly welcomed big name celebrities like The Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Perhaps someday, it will welcome you and your legions of fans. See you at the Apollo! The Fulham bubble is not just about cafes, croissants and cappuccinos. As one of London’s most desirable (and posh!) neighborhoods, Fulham boasts a superior selection of beautifully conceived cottages. These come complete with classy convertibles parked comfortably along its magnificent, tree-lined streets. There are plenty of opportunities here for you to practise your French. Begin by greeting your neighbors with a friendly “Bonjour!” in the morning, as they send les enfants (the children) off to the Lycée Francais or one of the three French prep schools in Fulham. The neighborhood's Victorian and Edwardian terraces are elegantly nestled along quiet, leafy avenues. Fulham’s friendly, village-like feel is very popular with sociable, cash-rich young professionals - the most famous resident being Daniel Radcliffe (perhaps you might recognize him better when he’s dressed as Harry Potter). Village centers like Fulham Broadway, Parsons Green, Munster Village and Wandsworth Bridge Road are exceptionally well-served with gastropubs (including a Michelin-starred one), an international mix of restaurants, lively bars and les petites cafes. Fulhamites, dressed in their Barbour jackets and hunter wellies, like to keep their days busy with action-packed itineraries - from polo tournaments at The Hurlingham Club to friendly cricket matches. On Saturdays, they display their enthusiastic support for their favorite football clubs - Craven Cottage for Fulham FC fans and Stamford Bridge for Chelsea fans. On days they prefer activities of a less strenuous nature, Fulham Palace Gardens and Bishops Park offer Fulham residents a stress-free sanctuary for cake and tea.

There are two double rooms (one larger than the other) and a single bed in the under-street room. The small kitchen has essential equipment, cooker, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. The bathroom has a shower, bath and sink; the toilet is separate. Fast fibre optic broadband is available for guests' use. Interaction with GuestsAccess to the flat is with keys kept in a coded keybox. Guests come and go as they please. The NeighborhoodWe love the Barons Court area. It's a quiet residential area with character. There's a decent pub on the same street as the flat serving food with a vibrant theatre under it. And if you like cooking, the butcher by the tube station is world class. If you fancy staying on foot there is a great walk along the banks of the River Thames from Hammersmith to Putney bridges along the course of the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race which takes place in Spring each year. Getting AroundThe area is so convenient for so much. Heathrow is 30 mins by tube, the Science, Natural History and V&A museums are 15 mins the other way, and you can be in the heart of the West End in 20 mins too for theatre and musicals. Olympia and Earls Court Exhibition Centres are both within walking distance. Road transport on the A4/M4 is also amazingly easy; you can be in the west country in 2 hours by car. Paid parking is available on the street outside the flat. And for cycling fans, there is a Boris bike stand 1 minute walk away. Other Things to NoteThe flat was redecorated in December 2015. The photos are pre-redecoration as are the first 65 comments. While the flat has bed-space for 5 it is not a huge flat so please make sure if you are a party of 5 you are comfortable with this.

The SpaceWe hope that you will make yourself at home in our clean, light, Victorian maisonette which is full of British charm and character. We believe the property is around 120 years old and would have been on the very outskirts of London all those years ago. Of course, London has now expanded and we now find ourselves situated near the very centre of the city! A fun way to observe the city is to climb the stairs up to the beautiful roof terrace on the top floor. Not only are the panoramic views incredible (see if you can you spot Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament and The Shard), but it provides a rare moment of peace in such a lively, vibrant city. The Brit Room is quiet (it is nicely situated off the main road), warm and peaceful. Clean, cotton towels, bed linen and luxurious bed sheets are provided for your comfort. The room is located on the second floor and as with many of these Victorian homes there is no lift access. If you have heavy bags and need help lifting them please let us know so that we can arrange a time to meet that works for us. Whilst you stay you will be sharing with me (Drummond) and my fiancé (Jade) in our three bed home (one room is our office). I tend to work quite long hours during the week and Jade is in and out most weekdays for work. We both like to relax during the weekends. Often, we will start the weekend with a full english breakfasts or eggs benedict, our guests are always welcome to join us - just let us know! If you have any questions whilst you stay, either catch us whilst we are at home or just message us on Airbnb or via text. Guest AccessYou will have access to the WIFI, The Brit Room and all the communal areas within the house, including: - Dining room - Lounge - Kitchen (including oven, fridge, Nespresso coffee machine and coffee pods, food & drink) - The roof terrace - Laundry - washing machine and dryer - The two bathrooms Interaction with GuestsWe are flexible and go along with the preferences of our guests. Some guests have enjoyed joining us for breakfasts at the weekend and BBQs on the roof in the evenings. Others prefer to do their own thing. We are always happy to help you plan your stay and have some brilliant recommendations up our sleeves! The NeighborhoodBased on Lillie Road in Fulham, we are surrounded by: - London cafes (Cafe Plum) - Local pubs (The Colton Arms or The Dove) - Shops (Fulham Broadway, Chelsea, Hammersmith, Putney). - Farmers markets (Chelsea Farmers Market, North End Road Market) - The River Thames, walk there in less than 10 minutes - Parks (Hyde Park and Bishops Park) - Harrods is a short bus journey away - Tennis courts - Gym and swimming pool Getting AroundWe recommend that you walk wherever possible - it's the best way to get to know London and it's free (they haven't started billing us... yet). Alternatively, use the fantastic public transport links including: - Bicycle hire (called Borris Bikes), a station is situated immediately outside our front door - Buses - Tubes (Baron's Court, West Brompton, Fulham Broadway, West Kensington Stations) You can get directly to places like Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and Heathrow Airport in 30 minutes (short walk and tube journey). Other Things to NoteOur domestic help, Tatijana, comes to clean the house on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (depending on her schedule). To help us keep the space tidy we have asked her to clean The Brit Room on these days - if you do not want her to enter your room whilst you stay please do let us know so that we can arrange this.
