With easy access one mile east of Hwy 177 just 8 miles north of The Artesian and Chickasaw National Recreation Area, this authentic log house built in 2002 has a wrap around porch and wood burning fireplace and 60 acres of peace and privacy behind a gated entry. The home is made for entertaining your family or extended group, and we hope you will make yourselves at home at our family farm. Make your favorite meals in the fully-equipped kitchen and serve breakfast at the dining table for 10 or grill on the gas grill and camp stove in the covered breezeway with 5x8 ft. custom harvest table and benches with mason jar chandelier near the outdoor bonfire. Kitchen is equipped with electric cooktop, oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot and french press, kettle, toaster, blender, crockpot, spices, selection of coffees and teas, and many basic dry goods. If you get in late at night without an opportunity to grocery shop, you will not go hungry here!
Take a family bike ride down the 1/4 mile gravel driveway, make a picnic and hit the pond area, complete with swing set, for some swimming, collect eggs from the chickens for tomorrow's breakfast, feed a carrot to a Silver Fox rabbit, pick a peach, pear, plum, apple, or apricot from one of the fruit trees, or collect pecans from the 46 native pecan trees. 8 stall horse barn with half bath has a treadmill and extra refrigerator in a climate controlled office. Board games and books for all ages are provided for your enjoyment. We even have a designated book exchange shelf, in case you finish your book while at our farm and would like to take one home with you.
Log House Four Bedrooms - master with king bed with brand new memory foam mattress and attached master bath includes two sinks, shower and tub, king bed #2 has direct access to the outside, queen bed #3, and full/full bunk and twin captain's bed in bedroom #4. Hammock and plenty of porch furniture allow you to take in the 360 degree view at any time of day. You don't want to miss these sunsets and stargazing!
Each bathroom is equipped with new quality towels for indoor use and also older ones for use at the pond, when visiting the national park, etc. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hairdryers are provided for your convenience. Handmade goat milk soaps in a variety of scents made by Swinging K Farms of Blanchard are provided for your luxury. If you forget a toiletry item, feel free to use one of the extras provided for such occasions.
Full washer and dryer, Muck Boots and Carhartt coats are for your use and convenience. Firewood for the indoor fireplace and outdoor bonfire are provided. Basket with all of the necessary ingredients for smores (along with metal roasting sticks) are awaiting you! This was our primary residence for a period of time, so it is fully stocked for your convenience. Anything you might need can likely be found by opening a cabinet or two.
We do have two indoor dogs that stay in the house when we are there. Their kennel is left in the mud room, and you are welcome to use it as well. Outside we have 1 dog, 2 horses, 2 rabbits, cattle, and chickens. The house is very kid friendly. Lots of toys, games, and books. Pets are welcome, if approved ahead of time. There is plenty of parking space here for long trailers, extra cars, etc. We also have both 50 and 30 amp plugs for RVs.
The 2bd/1 bath guest house has a king bed in one bedroom (twin mattress in master closet for extra sleeping space) and a queen bed and twin/full bunk bed in the other. Large walk in closets in each bedroom. Full kitchen with dining area and large laundry/mud room with washer and dryer.
If you plan to travel with your horses, access to the horse stalls, paddocks, automatic waterers, and hay can be arranged. We do not allow any horse riding by guests at our farm due to insurance policy regulations.

Guest AccessGuests who rent both have access to every aspect of the main house and guest house, except the master closet of the main house which is locked as an owner's closet. Pasture where cattle are grazing at that time and paddocks where horses are located are off limits. Otherwise, you have full range of the property. Interaction with GuestsI make every effort to greet each guest at the farm to show them around and make them feel welcome. I live in Norman, so unfortunately I am not always available at check in. I am always immediately available by phone. My children and I or another person may be around tending to the farm animals or doing other farm chores. We can interact as much or as little as guests prefer. We want you to enjoy the farm in whatever way suits you best. We are available to answer any questions you may have or help in any way to make your stay more enjoyable, both before your arrival and during your stay. The NeighborhoodWe are 1:15 from the Oklahoma City Airport (OKC) and 2:30 from Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW). We are one hour from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK.
The farm is 8 miles north of The Artesian Hotel, Spa and Casino and Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, OK and one mile off of Hwy 177. Sulphur is also home to the Chickasaw Cultural Center, Rusty Nail Winery, Lake of the Arbuckles, and a plethora of charming shops to frequent. We are 23 miles from Turner Falls and 51 miles from Lake Murray State Park. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation here. There are bicycles for your use and enjoyment both around the farm and at the national park. We have a 4 bike rack that attaches to a tow hitch that you're welcome to use during your stay, if you want to take bikes to the park. Other Things to NoteThere is no wifi at the farm. We hope this encourages everyone to unplug and unwind from the daily grind. This is one aspect of farm life we treasure and hope you find value in as well. There is one television with a digital antenna that gets 6 channels, DVD player and 20+ movie selection. At the farm we try to unwind by reading, playing cards or board games, enjoying long conversations over the dinner table, telling stories by the bonfire, and having serious kitchen dance parties! A speaker is available for your use. :)
