The SpaceArbor Studio is a compact, tidy single building just right as a retreat space for one person; serviceable, but possibly too intimate for two people so we are not offering it for couples through the winter. The Arbor is a cozy retreat from the world, a delightful escape into a special private place. This 'tiny house' is nestled under a grandmother grapevine and looks out into our beautiful & colorfully arrayed cottage-style healing garden, a sanctuary filled with flowers & herbs. Expect friendly atmosphere, intelligent use of space, interior cleanliness, bamboo floors, interesting lighting, filtered drinking water, a moderately equipped kitchenette (toaster oven, micro, electric kettle & frying pan, 4 each dishes, cups, etc.). You can enjoy your snacks perched on a stool at the kitchenette counter while gazing past the ancient grapevine arbor out into our Healing Garden. There's also a old-fashioned barrel reading chair with a garden view. Arbor Studio sports a new, queen-sized bed (mattress and box springs) by Serta. The space feels isolated from the outside world, and serves as a meaningful retreat for one person. We are not offering it to couples because the fiberglass shower opens into the main room and the toilet has a curtain rather than a door. The well insulated space is heated with a portable radiator-type device, ceiling fan for air circulation, and a new window air conditioner. Entry to Arbor Studio is via the Garden Gate into the back yard. The ground in the back garden can be uneven and the bark-covered walkway dark, especially at night. We have solar lights but we encourage you to carry a flashlight. Parking is in our 3-vehicle driveway or safely at curbside. Please be aware that we love dogs, but cannot accept your canine companion as a guest. Business License #(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Planning Action #01-674 Please note our prices reflect an added 9% for City of Ashland Lodging Taxes. Arbor Studio at Chakra Garden is located 0.5 mile north of Ashland’s Downtown Plaza, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Bricks, and Lithia Park. Walk directly south down N. Main Street and arrive at the Plaza in 10-12 minutes; or, stroll amongst the houses, through the Historic Skidmore Academy District and arrive at the Plaza in 12-15 minutes. Your enjoyment of Ashland's main attractions won't require a vehicle. If you're coming to Ashland for a class, we're 3-blocks up the street from the Kagyu Sukha Choling Center for the Practice of Tibetan Buddhism, 4-blocks from Ashland Institute of Massage Therapy (AIM), and 5-blocks from the United Bicycle Institute. The Dance Space is 0.5 miles south along Hersey, and we're 1.5 miles north of the University (SOU). Chakra Garden of Ashland is almost across the street from a south-bound Ashland/Medford bus stop and a block from Ashland’s Youth Hostel. Ashland’s Natural Food Coop is a beautiful 6-block walk. There are restaurants located only 1 block north, and a Minute Market 1 block south. You’ll find everything else you need for entertainment and shopping beginning less than half mile south of Chakra Garden, around Ashland's Downtown Plaza. Guest AccessEnter through the garden gate to find Arbor Studio. Our gardens are spacious and in development as a healing sanctuary based on the Chakra System. We invite you to enjoy the environment and amenities. Practice yoga (etc) on the lawn area behind the main house; enjoy the deck with gas bar-b-que; rest in the shady hammock (not in winter), eat breakfast at the garden table with umbrella, make a small fire in the pit in the evening (please use screen and common sense), play a game of ping pong in the pavilion, bar-b-que on our side deck. And also know that downtown Ashland, with beautiful Lithia Park and world-class dining and shopping, is only 4-blocks south. Interaction with GuestsYou might meet us in the backyard but our desire is for you to find as much privacy as you crave. You might choose to attend one of our classes or schedule a therpeutic appointment. We are yogis and body-mind healers. Dr. Zeb is a somatic counselor and Rolfer; Candace an embodiment guide and Tantra educator. We provide private sessions, group classes, and healing retreats. We invite you to schedule therapeutic bodywork or a healing appointment with Dr. Zeb or an energy tune-up/embodiment meditation with Candace to enhance your visit. Find more information at our Chakra Garden of Ashland website. The NeighborhoodWe purchased the Chakra Garden property because of its versatility, history, and close location to downtown Ashland. The main house is a vintage 2-story (1884 – the Payne-Penter House) signature building as one nears Ashland’s downtown plaza, distinguished by the upstairs stained-glass window. There were two older out-buildings (“Temple House” and “Lhasa House”) that we changed from empty shells to havens of modern comfort. We dreamed of turning the large, empty back yard into a garden sanctuary for healing body, mind and spirit and that is an on-going project you are welcome to enjoy during your visit. We added three small buildings to our land in 2013, and Arbor Studio is one of these (the other two are storage & workshop spaces). You’ll discover all the fittings and furnishings in Arbor Studio are clean & new. The neighborhood is lovely and offers many quiet shady streets as alternative avenues for your stroll into town. Getting AroundIt's an easy 1/2 mile walk to Ashland's central Plaza, the city's "hub." Lithia Park and Oregon Shakespeare Festival are right there. There's a variety of walking routes into town. A stop for the southbound Medford/Ashland bus is around the corner and across the street. We have a pair of old but well-maintained bikes that might be available for you to borrow. We offer off-street parking for your car. Other Things to NoteThe space is very cozy and there is little interior privacy inside. There is no central heat and air; instead, we have an excellent space heater, a new window air conditioner, and a ceiling fan.

The SpaceHello and welcome to the Garden Room, a room in the historic Carter-Fortmiller House. The Garden Room is in the main house and was originally the Gentlemen's Billiard Room. It has lovely French doors that lead directly to the backyard and serve as your entry and exit (as shown in the pictures), and your own large private bathroom with shower and small fridge/freezer. We live in the main house but your room is totally separate. You enter and exit through doors we don't have access to, and which we don't use. Please note, even though we have dogs of our own, we can't have dogs as our guests due to allergies of other guests. Our rental is all about location and comfort. At this point, having hosted 85 groups this summer, I feel deep gratitude to my guests who have posted wonderful things about our location and the room. Please let the reviews speak for themselves, these are made by fellow Airbnb travelers just like us. The room faces southeast so you'll enjoy the morning sun. The French doors open to a patio to the west where you can catch a little afternoon sun, or just sit and read in the garden. For hot days, the room has A/C. There is a comfy queen bed, sheets, towels, internet and TV. There is no kitchen but the room is equipped with a mini-refrigerator, a hot water maker, a coffee maker, two coffee cups, two water/wine cups, and a wine/bottle opener. A lovely new addition to our rental is that we now offer the use of our swimming pool in June, July and August. If you are traveling with friends and are looking for more space, we have another room listed on Airbnb as well. Please inquire for more info. Thanks for checking out our Garden Room, we look forward to seeing you! Guest AccessThis is a ground floor apartment and is in the main house, but with it's own entry and bathroom. I mention a few times that your room is in the main house because, even though your room is totally separate with it's own entry, you might hear us! We are a family of 4 with two dogs. This is a good thing to look for in guest comments. If it's mentioned at all, most guests weren't bothered by noise but this is my disclaimer! You also have access to the back yard garden and pool. Your room has private en suite large bathroom, closet, private entrance, swimming & parking. The pool is open from June to August. Interaction with GuestsVery little or as much as you want! We are here for questions but your privacy is important to us. Since you are staying in a room In our home, I'm sure you'll occasionally hear us rattling around but no one has mentioned it to me and guests don't seem to make note of it in the reviews. The NeighborhoodWe are in the heart of downtown Ashland. You will love strolling in to town on warm summer nights to enjoy the Green Show, dinner on the creek or just window shopping! The walk home is flat, safe and well lit. Getting AroundBus #10 goes all over Ashland and the stop is on our block. Other Things to NoteWe have a 14 year old daughter, certified in babysitting and available at $10/hr. The Carter House Inn WAS a BNB but we no longer hold a food license. For coffee, tea etc, Boulevard Café is across the street or Ruby's on Pioneer has great breakfast burritos. We have a little notebook put together to help you get around. We provide an electric hot water maker, coffee cups and water glasses, and a small fridge. THE BAD AND THE UGLY: It seems all of Ashland is mown and blown on Monday. I've asked our gardener (who also maintains the yards around us) to come after 9am for your convenience. On Tuesdays the trash is picked up and that seems to go on forever. We have two large dogs - a shepherd and a lab. They have their own pen but sometimes they wander a bit because I also have two teenagers who are trying, but are only hitting 89% diligence with keeping the pen closed. It hasn't been a problem for people who aren't dog people, they just tell me and suddenly the kids bust out 100% so I know they have it in them.

The SpaceLhasa House at Chakra Garden is a charming studio cottage with a zen-like atmosphere, unique privacy and its own street entrance. The property is only 0.5 mile north of Ashland's downtown Plaza, gateway to most Ashland landmarks (Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Lithia Park, unique shopping, and sophisticated cuisine). Lhasa House is located on the grounds of a vintage home built in 1884. The nearly 0.4 acre lot has allowed us to create a garden environment that serves as a healing sanctuary and pleasure space. We call it Chakra Garden of Ashland. We, Dr. Zeb Lancaster & Candace Cave, are yogic body-mind healers in private practice. Originally a mechanics garage built in the 1930’s, Lhasa House is a 400 sq ft building we made comfortably habitable in 2012. You’ll discover bamboo floors in the spacious main room, an entry lobby that doubles as a dressing room with coat & shoe caddies, an elegant bathroom with tiled shower, and a cozy kitchenette (microwave, toaster oven, mini-fridge/freezer, electric kettle). The kitchenette was remodeled in January 2017 to make it more usably efficient. The mini-split HVAC keeps the space at a comfortable temperature throughout the year. There is Wi-Fi for your connection convenience and no television to distract you from a quiet life lived in the present moment. Lhasa House sleeps as many as 4 people: two upon a comfy Englander Pillowtop queen bed and two upon Ikea’s queen size convertible sofabed (made more comfortable with a sheepskin pad). Sheets are 300+ thread count organic or Egyptian cotton. Towels are thick and plentiful (3 per person). Lhasa House’s soothing interior is supported by personally gathered artifacts and breathtaking photos from Lhasa, Tibet. Lhasa House has ample, safe street parking right in front of the door. Please be aware that we love dogs, but cannot accept your canine companion, or any other pets, as a guest. Business License #(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Planning Action #01-674 Please note our prices reflect an added 9% for City of Ashland Lodging Taxes. Lhasa House at Chakra Garden is located 0.5 mile north of Ashland’s Downtown Plaza. Just a few more steps takes you to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Bricks and Lithia Park. Guest AccessA free-standing building, Lhasa House has it's own private street entrance. Parking is safe and ample at curbside in front of the building, or up the street in our 3-car driveway. We'll leave the front door unlocked and the key inside, or the front door locked and key under the mat, depending upon your anticipated arrival time (we live in a very safe neighborhood). We ask you to check-in with Zeb via text or phone call when you arrive. Lhasa House also has a private back door that opens into the garden. The grounds of the backyard at Chakra Garden of Ashland are available for your enjoyment and pleasure. You'll find a deck with bar-b-que, several shady and sunny places to sit often with a table, a firepit, a ping pong table (under cover in our pavillion, hammock, and lawn area for yoga/martial arts. Our gardens are evolving into a healing experience, themed around the body's energy centers (Yoga), the Chakras. Please ask us about it when you see us playing with the plants. You can also choose to make an appointment for healing treatments with either or both of us. Interaction with GuestsWe are please to host your visit to Ashland in Lhasa House at Chakra Garden of Ashland. Your self-contained cottage is very private and unless you specifically ask to interact with us, or encounter us in the garden, we’ve arranged your visit to be independent. Chakra Garden desires to provide a unique and comfortable experience. You are welcome to spend time in our garden, but please do so with awareness, and at your own risk. The garden is in development, the pathways are uneven, there might be obstacles in your passageway. In addition to hosting your visit to Ashland, we provide private healing sessions, group classes, and healing retreats. Our Monday and Wednesday 5:30-6:45pm meditation classes are open to everyone ($10 donation – arrive a few minutes early). You are welcome to schedule a therapeutic bodywork or a healing appointment with Dr. Zeb or an energy tune-up with Candace to enhance your visit. The NeighborhoodLhasa House is on the grounds of Chakra Garden, a vintage Ashland property in the historic Skidmore Academy District. We're 4-blocks north of Ashland's Downtown Plaza, the heart of our village activity. There's an ally (Lori Lane) at the base of the grounds (near Lhasa House front door) that connects Hersey St to Van Ness. Van Ness is a quiet neighborhood street with charming houses, mostly built in the early 1900s, that leads to the A Street corridor and the Bear Creek bike trail. It's a great location, very central to the "heart" of Ashland's village community - the Plaza & Lithia Park (+OSF). Getting AroundChakra Garden is easy walking distance (10-15 minutes) from all major attractions in Ashland (Lithia Park, Oregon Shakespeare Theater, world-class dining and shopping). You can walk to the Plaza on Main Street, or stroll through neighborhood houses. Ashland Natural Food Coop is only 5-blocks away and there's a mini-market a block down the street. A RVT bus stop is across the street and bus number 10 will take you south to the University and north all the way to Medford. Ask us about borrowing our old bikes (there's also nearby bike rental shops) - the Bear Creek Greenway for biking and hiking runs 27+ miles north from Ashland and is about 0.5 mile away from us. Plus it's easy to bike all the way to the south end of town. There's also a southbound Route 10 (Medford to So. Ashland) bus stop across from the property on N. Main St. Other Things to NoteWe don't provide any food, although you'll discover a fine selection of tea bags in the compact kitchenette. There's not room or appliances to cook a major meal in Lhasa House, but the microwave works well and the small toaster oven heats breakfast, and the fridge has it's own freezer so keeps ice cream perfectly cold. The plastic square tray hanging on the kitchenette wall is a dish drainer.

A “lake cabin” vacation can become a reality at Hyatt Lake Resort, approximately 22 miles east of Ashland on Rt. 66. The forest surrounds the cabin, which is located at “Campers’ Cove.” From the front deck you can BBQ while viewing the lake, enjoy the Jacuzzi or just sit and watch the eternity of stars in the dark mountain skies, eagles, osprey, geese. Last August, a doe, and sometimes her two fawns, made early evening visits to the area surrounding the cabin. Inside are the simple comforts that make a lake cabin comfortable from a completely furnished kitchen to all linens and satellite TV. Hyatt Lake Resort is located on Hyatt Lake, which is a sister lake to Howard Prairie Lake about five miles away. At 5200' elevation Hyatt Lake is slightly higher than Howard Prairie Lake. Make sure you bring some warm clothes even towards the end of summer, when it can get chilly. Mushroom hunters will enjoy the Hyatt Lake area in both spring and fall. Also your visits could include a visit to Ashland Shakespeare Festival, Britt summer music festival in Jacksonville, Crater Lake, Oregon Caves and the Klamath Wildlife Refuge. Being open year round, Hyatt Lake offers a fabulous restaurant (just in case you don’t want to cook!!) and a wide variety of activities. Summer brings warm days and cool nights. From spring to late fall, fishermen come from far and wide to catch one of the trophy trout Hyatt Lake has been known to produce. The Pacific Crest Trail is a destination where hikes and bird watchers can enjoy a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. Eagles, Sand Hill Cranes and Osprey, are just a few of the many birds you will find in the area. Wildflowers abound all around you! Make sure to bring your binoculars and camera! Winter comes alive at Hyatt Lake with snowmobile trails, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hunting and ice-skating. We have been there in the snow, and it is a "winter wonderland." We really enjoy our cabin! Credit Card holds reservation - card not charged until check-in. If not canceled 48 hours in advance, one night fee will be charged to card. Hyatt Lake is surrounded by forest and mountains. Fishing, hiking, boating and restaurant on site. Close to Howard Prairie and Greensprings. Our cabin is one of 26 in our compound. It has a nice view of the lake, quiet and has all the anemities. Parking is available.

The Space This little creek side cabin in the woods is located just outside of Talent, Oregon and is nestled among towering pine trees. It sits just feet from flowing Wagner Creek, in which you can dip your feet and can hear from your windows at night. The cabin features a comfortable queen size bed in the entry/sleeping area and another in the main living area. The kitchen has a sink, refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, electric skillet, electric griddle, slow cooker, electric tea kettle, dishes, glasses, silver ware, cooking utensils and a charcoal barbeque outside. The cozy front porch and outdoor table invite you to relax with your morning coffee or bundle up for some extraordinary stargazing. Guests are free to wander the property, which consists of the main house and cabin, and are encouraged to enjoy the bounty of fruit trees that dot the property. Your host will generously accommodate additional supplies or essentials to make your visit most enjoyable. Guest Access The cabin is located just outside of Talent, Oregon and is nestled among towering pine trees. It sits just feet from flowing Wagner Creek, in which you can dip your feet and hear from your windows at night. This forested 8-acre property borders BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and offers great day hiking and dirt bike trails, just minutes from your front door. It is located approximately 6 miles from nearby Ashland, Oregon, home to the world-famous Shakespeare Theater and Lithia Park. Ashland also offers many unique shops, restaurants, and art galleries; and for snow bound enthusiasts, nearby Mount Ashland offers skiing and other winter activities. With easy access to Interstate 5, Talent is located in the beautiful Rogue Valley and offers a number of excellent restaurants and coffee shops, a Friday evening outdoor market, local wineries and Camelot Theatre for enjoying fabulous live entertainment. A grocery store is located in town and is a convenient stop for food and refreshment needs. Also nearby is the city of Jacksonville, a National Historical Landmark renown for its Gold Rush roots and for the Britt Music Festival. The town offers a number of excellent restaurants (C St. Bistro being one of my favorites), shopping; wine tasting, art galleries and a street trolley that takes you back in time. Some of the many outdoor recreational activities southern Oregon has to offer is white water rafting the Rogue, water skiing in our many local lakes, fishing, and easy day trips to nearby national parks such as Crater Lake, the Redwoods and Oregon Caves. Interaction with GuestsI enjoy meeting my guest whenever possible and have been fortunate to meet people from all over the United States and Europe. My goal is to insure every comfort is met while at the same time, respecting a guest's privacy. Guest are welcome to visit the main house to request additional amenities or whatever else that will make their stay more enjoyable. The NeighborhoodKnown in the neighborhood as “the last house before the concrete road ends,” and a original church camp in the Talent Historical society the cabin is nestled among towering woods and a year round creek. Although only 4 1/2 miles up Wagner Creek Road, the neighborhood feels like worlds away. After a long day enjoying everything our region has to offer, the cabin is a perfect place to come back to relax and enjoy. Getting AroundThe cabin is very convenient to the bus transit and easy access to dining, theater, shopping and Interstate 5.

We like to call her "Delta Dawn" because her former owners spent a lot of time touring with her in the Southeastern US. Delta Dawn sleeps 2 comfortably on 1 queen bed. It’s the perfect getaway for a romantic adventure. Why stay in a hotel or motel when you can have your own Airstream adventure just outside downtown Ashland? This is a vacation opportunity unlike any other available in the Ashland area. Delta Dawn is a great home base for a visit to the Oregon Shakespeare Theater and all that Southern Oregon offers. Outside she's polished and shiny, inside she's comfortable and cozy. The SpaceAshland Plaza, world famous Lithia Park, international and gourmet restaurants, coffee houses; health food stores, fitness gyms, unique shops and Shakespeare theaters are a short stroll from the Carriage House (within 2 or 3 blocks!). You may also enjoy the quiet of the private gardens and a fully appointed kitchen (supplied with seasonal fruit; fresh, home-made granola; tea, coffee, and necessary condiments); laundry facilities; air conditioning; bathroom radiant heating (hair dryer, of course), and a romantic gas heating fireplace for winter visits. There is one bathroom (with a shower, not a tub). The Carriage House will sleep four people. Two in the private bedroom (queen-sized bed) on the main floor and two on the comfortable full-sized futon in the loft, accessed by a Japanese Kaidan Tansu (traditional staircase cabinet). The loft is not advisable for senior citizens or children under ten years old. We happily welcome children ten or over in the Carriage House. Approved by City of Ashland Community Development # 13-1826; Planning Action # '(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Guest AccessA guest parking place is provided in the carriage garage. Private access to the garden and Carriage House, which is a completely separate unit from the 1876 Victorian house. Interaction with GuestsMy husband and I take the lead from our guests. After welcoming guests to their accommodations, we invite them to feel comfortable about asking for directions or information about our community or our historic, 1876 Isaac Woolen House. We enjoy camaraderie--as well as guests who seek private time and solitude. The NeighborhoodWe live in the beautiful, quiet Ashland Historic District. The neighborhood is within walking distance to just about every place in town, with western prospects of the Siskiyou forest and of the Tuscany-like fields to the east. After taking the ten steps up and entering into the Carriage House, guests feel the peace of life among the trees, able to watch the many different species of bird fly, often at eye-level--and the Siskiyou white-tail deer foraging below. Getting AroundGuests have a parking space in the carriage house garage. However, most people forget they even brought a car since the town center (post office, parks, stores and theaters) is within walking distance. Cycling is encouraged in Ashland. A bicycle path follows Bear Creek all the way to Medford. The number 10 bus (which circles Ashland and goes to Medford) stops across the street from our Victorian home. Other Things to NoteFor "in door" activities in inclement weather, you can set up a board game near the fire place. We've stacked five games in the kitchen cabinet: Monopoly; Scrabble; Pictionary; Backgammon; and Trivial Pursuit. If the weather's good, take a walk through the English garden, which is "patrolled" by three out-door working cats, Brendie, Mama Tux, and Lil'Grey. These are rescued wild kitties, so they purringly value their domestic jobs (either sleeping peacefully in protected boxes or fending off unwanted critters).

The SpaceAirbnb will ask you to rate your trip based on *Accuracy of Listing, *Value, *Communication of Host, *Arrival Ease, *Location and, *Overall Experience. I am definitely going for a 5 Star Vacation for you. Please see the pictures for more info. A picture says a thousand words! Accuracy: This apartment sleeps 4. It is a 480 sq' upstairs apartment over the garage, which is separate from the house Handicap lift works (see photos) but room is not fitted for wheelchairs Queen sofa sleeper in living room - (It's a lovely sofa sleeper that Grandma bought to sleep on since Grandpa snores, but mattresses are so subjective it's hard for me to say - check out the reviews, no complaints there about the sofa sleeper!) 4-poster queen bed in master Bathroom is off master bedroom (guests staying in living room on queen sofa must pass through master bedroom to access bathroom) TV in master and living room Full, double door, closet in bathroom with hanging shelving unit and hangers Small dresser in master bedroom Luggage rack, side table and bedside tables in master bedroom OTHER AMENITIES: Linens, bath towels and pool towels (pool open June through Aug), shampoo, cream rinse, body wash, alarm clock, blow dryer, emergency kit with spare toiletries, dish soap, dishwasher soap, paper towels, toilet paper, dish rack, full kitchen with dishes/glasses, wine glasses, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, dish towels, kitchen table, kitchen chairs and two extra kitchen chairs in pantry. Small porch with two bistro chairs and a table. WIFI, Concierge book with restaurant suggestions and 911 instructions, A/C and heat. NOTE: We have two large dogs who live on the property but we do not allow pets in the rentals due to guest allergies. They have their own pen and don't wander the yard. It nearly kills me when people ask to bring their pets, even after reading this. I know we like to travel with our dogs but this entire place is carpeted and I have to watch out for our hundreds of guests. Value: Part of the room rate and the cleaning fee come back to me. Airbnb takes a large percentage from me, and charges you a larger percentage. When considering “Value”, please base this off of actual room rate and cleaning fee, vs considering your entire cost, thanks! Communication of Host: Upon booking, you will receive a Welcome Email from me letting you know our address, where to park and how to enter the room which has 24 hour access. Communication beyond that is completely up to you! I do encourage guests to let me know if there is a need to meet upon arrival, via text message. Arrival Ease: There is no “check-in” process involving me as your Host. Your room will be clean and ready whenever your party arrives, and you can arrive any time day or night. Airbnb only gives me that 3-5 window from which to choose, but please check in any time after 3 unless we've discussed early check-in options. Location: We are in the Historic Downtown District of Ashland on the corner of Siskiyou Blvd and Union Street. The address is 514 Siskiyou Blvd. Please mapquest any specific distances from the starting location of 514 Siskiyou Blvd. The walk to OSF is roughly 5 minutes and is a very slight downhill, the walk home is very slight uphill. There are well lit sidewalks for walking home after shows. In the pictures, you can see a photo standing at Siskiyou and Union toward town/Ashland Springs Hotel to give you an idea of our location. If you have specific questions about distance from our home, please feel free to ask, I’m happy to help. Overall Experience: It is our intention to provide you with a wonderful home away from home, however, we realize this category is subjective. We hope you will communicate with us right away if something is amiss to give us the chance to give you a 5 star vacation. We host over 200 parties all year in this room and I'm so proud of our ratings! NOTE: If you are a larger group, we also have another room in the MAIN HOUSE which is across the yard and is listed on Airbnb as ASHLAND CARTER HOUSE, GARDEN ROOM. Should you decide to take it as well, I'll ask you to reserve it through Airbnb as well. FAQ: Yes, we are IN town. You can REALLY walk everywhere. Yes, you can use the pool from June through August - it's not heated but it's small so it stays a nice temperature. We provide pool towels. Yes, you can use the back yard and summer outdoor games. It really only sleeps 4. There is no laundry. Yes, there is ample parking in addition to ample street parking. Yes, we have wine glasses. Yes, there is a full kitchen. Both beds are QUEEN. The sofabed is nice, it has been positively reviewed by guests but at the end of the day, comfort is one of those personal things. Pillows are provided but if you REALLY love your own pillow, feel free to bring it. No smoking on the premises. Yes, there is AC in the master bedroom behind the headboard/curtain. Yes, there is heat that you control with your own thermostat. No pets, I’m so sorry! It’s SO hard to say no because we have dogs on site but too many travelers are allergic so I really can’t allow pets. Cancellation policy is listed on this website, it's a pre-set AIRBNB policy - if you need to cancel or change, you initiate it by requesting it through this website. Guest AccessThis is a 2nd floor apartment over the garage and is not attached to the main house where we live. Arrival Ease: In my Welcome Email, I give specifics such as address, where to park and how to enter the room. There is no “check-in” process involving me as your Host. Your room will be clean and ready whenever your party arrives after 3pm, and you can arrive any time day or night. Guests are welcome to use the pool which is open from June to August, and the yard which is shared. Interaction with GuestsCommunication of Host: Upon booking, you will receive a Welcome Email from me letting you know our address, where to park and how to enter the room which has 24 hour access. Communication beyond that is completely up to you! I do encourage guests to please let me know if there is a need to meet. We live on the property, and the yard and pool is shared, but often we don't see the guests - we are here if you need anything or have questions. Also, we are often on vacation ourselves during the summer months so I'm not always home when you arrive but the room will be ready for your arrival, I have an excellent cleaning crew who knows your schedule! We do have two large dogs living here who you will most likely see and meet. They have a pen in which they lounge around all day so please know they aren't wandering around the yard. The NeighborhoodWe are in the center of it all. We just walk or bike wherever we need to go. The lighted walk home from the theatre gives us just enough time to discuss how much we loved the show, dinner, movie, ice cream, bars...whatever it is we did. Getting AroundWalk from here, bike from here but if you want to go farther, the City bus #10 is one block away. If you want to drive, we can help you out with directions or, you have free WIFI to look things up. Other Things to Note1) We have a 14 year old certified babysitter on site! Our daughter charges $5/hr per child. 2) The stairs leading to the apartment have a handicap lift should you need assistance with the stairs. Due to this, the stairway which is standard 3' can seem narrow. We usually keep the lift under the roof but if it's in your way during your stay, please let us know and we can easily lower it. THE BAD AND THE UGLY: It seems all of Ashland is mowed and blown on Monday. I've asked our gardener (who also maintains the yards around us) to come after 9am for your convenience. On Tuesdays the trash is picked up and that seems to go on forever. We have two large dogs - a lab and a shepherd.

The SpaceThe Main is has a great location, near enough to the Plaza to walk (7 blocks, 10 minutes, or .5 mile). The house is in a quiet neighborhood, the parking is off-street and the property is mostly fenced. Once you buy you groceries, you probably won't use your car until you pack to leave. The house comfortably sleeps 6 in beds, and 2 more on a new, comfortable hide-a-bed. Guest AccessThe Main includes the first floor of the house. A small one bedroom flat is upstairs and has a separate, private entrance. The WIFI and parking area are shared. The WIFI is located in the Main flat, behind the TV set. The Loft parking is against the tall trees, the Main parking against the fence. Please leave room so cars can come and go. Interaction with GuestsOwner does not live on the property. The NeighborhoodThe historic district in Ashland is a residential neighborhood. We are near a B & B, town houses and homes. It is quiet and only 7 blocks to the Plaza, restaurants, plays and shopping. Getting AroundPark your car and walk or bike. Grocery store is 7 to 8 blocks, so you might want to get groceries first, but after that walking is the best way visit down town. There is a bike rack with a cable in the parking area, just bring a lock. Other Things to NoteThe grocery stores are a short drive away. Ashland's grocery stores are The Coop (closest), Market of Choice (great bakery), Shop and Kart (my favorite) and Albertson's (very good meat and fish market). All the groceries have beer and wine (best is probably Shop n Kart or Market of Choice). BiMart also has a good selection of wines (surprise). Liquor is sold in the state liquor store down town, behind Standing Stone.
