The SpaceIt's a great location. You're a few blocks from the main Government Camp road. Government Camp, in general, is the closet you can rent an entire house near Ski Bowl, Mt. Hood Meadows and Timberline Lodge. From the house, you can actually hike up (about 3 miles) to Timberline Lodge via the Glade Trail and enjoy a delicious buffet brunch! It's a beautiful hike. In the winter, if there is snow, you can snow-shoe up and sometimes even ski or snowboard back down to the house from Timberline Lodge. There must be a lot of snow for you to do this though! We're constantly improving the house and all appliances are fully functional. The hot tub is well maintained and it is always a guest favorite. There are 3 separate bedrooms. The house can fit 7, if an extra person doesn't mind sleeping on the big living room couches. Guest AccessYou'll have access to everything shown in the pictures. You're welcome to use everything. You will be able to check in and check out at anytime on your arrival and departure dates. The house is cleaned the day before you arrive and after you departure. This means you can arrive super early the day of, and do fun activities all during the last day and check out late at night. No noon check in or noon check out, check in as early and check out as late as you like! Interaction with GuestsWe will be interacting remotely as we do not live in Government Camp. We have someone who will clean and inspect the facility before and after you leave. We are friends with the neighbor across the street, so if there are any emergencies, we can provide you with their contact information. We currently live in San Francisco and Wes' parents, the owners of this house, live in Portland, OR (an hour drive away). The NeighborhoodIt's an incredibly quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The air smells fresh and it's always a beautiful day in Government Camp. The people are very friendly and we hope you'll love the neighborhood as much as we do. Other Things to NoteIf you're interested in booking it for more than a month, this may be possible, but we'll need to coordinate because we also use the house from time to time. All of the dates shown, are available, but let us know if you're interested in renting it for more than a month. If it's just a month, you're welcome to put in a request as is. The internet at the home is powered via DSL from CenturyLink. It's the fastest we could get up in the mountain. It has around a ~10mb/s download and ~0.5mb/s upload speed.

The SpaceWinter: as of 11/30/2016 the road from Trillium Lake Sno-Park is snow-covered and gates are closed. It is no longer possible to drive to the property. Contact us for specific details. Winter: hike-in cabin is 1.5 miles from the Trillium Lake Sno-Park (permit required ) and takes 30 to 60-minutes to reach depending on your pace and how much gear you are carrying. Many use snowshoes or x-country skis (though good hiking shoes will work, too.) Trails are groomed and well-marked, though the last few feet from the trail to the cabin door may be through deeper snow. During winter snowfall the only way to get around is hiking, snowshoeing, or x-country skiing. All items (food, beverages, extra firewood) would need to be hauled in; guests are highly encouraged to pack out all of their trash/recycling as there is no garbage service in this area. Guest AccessGuests have access to the entire house, minus owner's closet and garage. Interaction with GuestsBecause the cabin is over an hour away from Portland, owner is available via phone, email, and text. The NeighborhoodThere are about a dozen houses in the area (a few square miles) but only a few located within sight of this property. In the winter it is especially remote, as there is no vehicle access. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation nearby. Other Things to NoteGuests are highly encouraged to pack out all of their trash/recycling as there is no garbage service in this area.

With an eco-friendly design, sustainable craftsmanship, mountain views, and a prime location just steps away from the slopes at SkiBowl, this Government Camp home offers a unique take on lodge living, along with all the perks you'd expect from a Mount Hood vacation rental. With two living areas, a dining hall, and four bedrooms plus a loft housing 12 guests, this is an ideal retreat for large groups looking for an unparalleled mountain experience. Once the first restaurant in Government Camp, this historic lodge has since be refurbished using locally sourced and upcycled wood to create a modernized, green environment while maintaining a traditional mountain lodge feel. Floor-to-ceiling wood panels and rustic decor reinforce the cabin-like ambiance of the home, along with the roaring gas fireplace that will keep you feeling cozy on those cold snowy nights. The open layout and multiple common areas both encourage togetherness and camaraderie among your group and allow everyone to spread out and do their own thing. And you'll have plenty indoors to keep you entertained. While some may need to catch up on work emails (there's WiFi throughout), the others can play a game on the Wii, or watch a movie on Netflix or the DVD player. And don't forget CDs, there's a stereo and CD player too! One of the most popular places to gather on vacation is naturally the kitchen. Spacious and fully stocked, this kitchen was made to handle large meals. There's plenty of prep room along the granite countertops, a brand new stove, all the kitchen essentials you could need, and even barstools at the eat-in bar so others can keep the chefs company while they prepare their masterpiece. Don't be too daunted by the post-meal mess - there's a dishwasher to make clean-up easier. Serve up your meals family style in the dining hall at the elongated wooden table that serves up to 10. Four bedrooms in addition to the loft will sleep 12 vacationers comfortably. The stunning craftsmanship continues in the bedrooms with locally made beds from Cotton Cloud lined with organic linen sheets for a rejuvenating night's rest (note that the mattresses on these custom, hand-made beds are a little firmer than most, and without a box spring). Upstairs you'll find a bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two sets of twin bunks, along with a cozy TV room with two futons that can be used as additional sleeping arrangements. Back on the main floor lays another queen bedroom and the fourth bedroom, which holds a twin bunk bed. The lodge provides two full baths as well as a washer and dryer to keep up for an added convenience. When it's time to head out, skiers and boarders will already be "home" with the slopes of SkiBowl just a short walk from the front door. Head further up the road via the Glade Trail on snowshoe or cross-country skis (or the 15 minute drive by car) to Timberline Lodge where a hot chocolate and a dose of Oregon history awaits. There's snow tubing, terrain parks, and sleigh rides in the winter, and in the summer make sure to check out Mt. Hood Adventure Park's zip lines, alpine slide, rock wall, mini golf, mountain bike parks and more. There are miles upon miles of trails for hikers and bikers to explore, and fisherman will find plenty of steelhead in the Sandy and Salmon rivers close by. Whether you're a ski club, on a work retreat, gathering with extended family, or a group of friends on a ski-venture, this unique Mt. Hood vacation rental offers the perfect amount of space and privacy to accommodate your group. With a unique layout and design and a stellar location, this Mt.
