The SpaceClose to Oregon Golf Club and the Abernathy Center. It's size, location to park and river / boat ramp. Within walking distance to charming downtown Willamette in West Linn Oregon. We take great pride in this home and have spent a lot of time upgrading the home. Guest AccessGuests are required to enter through the garage and kitchen. Living on a beautiful wetland has its challenges as well. The front door tends to be an area where bugs hang out. Open that door and you get flys in the home. Guests will be provided with a garage door opener. Owners will meet guests and go over everything in the house upon arrival. Interaction with GuestsNot much. We will clean and organize for our guests once a day. We have a beautiful air stream trailer that we either take to the beach or stay in on the side of the property. Even though you will not see us, you need to make sure you are ok with us potentially being in our trailer on the property. The NeighborhoodPeaceful. Quiet. Friendly. Lots of birds and wildlife. View. River. Lack of noisy neighbors. We live on a big park and a big wetland. We also live on the river (and can kind of see it from upstairs) and are next to the boat ramp. It's a wonderful area. Getting AroundWe are right off I-205. Very close to I-5 (about 5 min.) and about 20-25 min from the Portland Airport. The old historic Willamette area we live in is full of great restaurants and stores. UBER is big in this area as well. Other Things to NoteFully landscaped with irrigation system. Back yard table and chairs. Each room is zoned with individual thermostats for comfort. All sleeping is upstairs. If you have trouble with stairs... this may not be the best home for you. We have high speed wifi and have Comcast with showtime.

The SpaceROOM The room is made to be versatile, both as a bedroom and as an office, so great for the work traveler, who wants options. There is a hutch with a computer, a small desk and chair, a unique antique murphy bed that pulls down for sleeping and out of the way to give you more space. A small loveseat that pulls out into a single bed and a corner cabinet with a TV. Perfect if you are a couple with a child. No extra charge if you are a couple with a little one. There is a very small closet and one built in drawer for your items. HOUSE It is a 1915 bungalow that is in the Historic McLoughlin District of Oregon City. Quaint backyard with flowers and cute front porch. The house is being renovated and there are projects going on, hence the lower rate, great for those visitors looking to spend more on their exploring then their overnights. Guest AccessGuest is free to make themselves at home and parking is right in front on the street. For any extra beds needed (besides the Full size bed and single bed/hideabed in guest room), an extra single bed can be made available for a small extra charge. Interaction with GuestsYour host works for the tourism industry locally AND is also a blues and gospel musician, so is in the know of all things cool to do day AND night. You can have as little or as much help as you want! Your arrival will be met with brochures and information to meet your interests. The NeighborhoodThis home is very musician friendly, so if you are a band with extra members, space can be made available to you. The hilly neighborhood is historic and the homes and area is very walkable. There is a cool cafe down the street, a city pool and a great track just a block away. 3 blocks away is a great little park with swings. The best part of this place is it's so close to get where you want to go, from the 205 freeway and 99E/McLoughlin to Portland. And not far from the Molalla River Corridor or the exit to go to Mt. Hood. Perfect place to land if you will be exploring more than staying home. Getting AroundThe bus goes by a block away, the 33 and can connect you right into Portland. Portland is about 20 minutes without traffic from the house. For families, there are some great attractions to see and things to do, from an elk farm with a petting zoo to an aquatic park. Other Things to NoteThe house is currently being renovated, so projects are happening, the extra income is used towards that, plus the host loves to share the are with new people! Along with the projects going on there are pets in the house, which is why the overnight rate is low. This is a great spot to land if you are coming for something else and not the lodging experience. It's comfortable and cute, but is geared towards people who are coming to visit family, to explore living in the area, need to be in Portland on business and want to spend their money on other things. Host loves to help people enjoy the area and would welcome any question before, during or after your stay. Dog and cat are extremely people friendly, but interaction not required. Just let us know your preference. They would love your attention if you have it to give!

The SpaceThe house sits on about 3 acres, half of which is horse pasture, which is the view from the living room, bedrooms, and your private, shaded patio. The living room is a comfortable 400 sq. ft., and the kitchen and bedrooms are clean, bright and cheery. The full bathroom is a little small, but it does have a good sized shower (no bathtub). There is no air conditioning, but it is rarely needed in Oregon, and this downstairs space actually stays quite cool, even on the hottest of days. We have a small chicken coop with 4 chickens, and most of the time they lay more eggs than we can eat, so we will be happy to provide you with fresh eggs as they are available. Don't worry, there are no crowing roosters to wake you up in the morning! Guest AccessThe apartment is fully furnished, and the kitchen is stocked with essentials like cookware and dishes. There is a 45" HDTV with premium cable including HBO, Showtime, and others. Also included is free high-speed WiFi. The apartment has its own parking spot, and private access which is around the back of the house. A washer and dryer are available. Cell phone coverage is a little sketchy in different areas of the downstairs. Interaction with GuestsIt's just the two of us and an older dog upstairs, so you will hardly know we are there. But if you need anything, just let us know. The NeighborhoodWe are about 4 miles from the Oregon City commercial area with lots of shops, restaurants, and supermarkets, and about one mile from the quaint Redland Store, and the friendly Redland Cafe and Tavern which has excellent home-style meals.

Other Things to NoteWe are both artists and collectors of antiques, vintage goods and odds and have repurposed many of the items in the apartment. You'll find lights that had previous lives as antique pinball games, old heaters and even Victorian shelf brackets and yes, those are old leather tapadoras sconces on the fireplace. The drapes and some pillows were made from Pendleton wools. Other decor we've collected from near and far.

When in season, you are welcome to partake of the raspberries and blueberries in the garden. Singer Hill Cafe and Caufield House downtown Oregon City both have great coffee and breakfasts. I live with my family in SE Portland so will best be reached by phone. Downtown Oregon City is a 15 minute walk away from the house where you can enjoy several nice restaurants and cafes. They also have smartphone apps using GPS to provide accurate arrival times. The SpaceThere is a single size bed in a well lit room. Comes with shelves, hangers, towel, lamp and clothes hamper. There's a nice open kitchen, living room with a very comfy couch and dining area. Lots of parking available. Guest AccessI leave an area in the fridge for guests. It has snacks, eggs and sometimes bread. There is also a little cupboard full of tea and coffee! Only the shop is off limits unless I am there. The back 5 acres are free to roam on either by foot or truck. Interaction with GuestsI am in and out quite a bit. And my room is on the other side of the house. I would not mind a game night or chatting about travels. :-) The NeighborhoodQuiet neighborhood. Very safe. Getting AroundThe airport is a 20min drive on a good day and the closets transit center is a mile and a half away located at the college. Other Things to NoteI Airbnb a couple of rooms so you may see other guests.

Interaction with GuestsWe live in the main house so are here to help with anything you need and answer any questions you have but will stay out of your hair. Other Things to NoteWe do have animals (goats, chickens, dogs and a cat). They are super friendly but it is important to close all gates behind you so no one gets out. The guest house is above a detached garage so you will need to be able to get up a full flight of stairs.
