What ever you desire Hood River Valley has something for you. Activities that are on site or nearby include: Windsurfing in the Columbia Gorge, Skiing on Mt. Hood, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Biking, Golf, Tennis, Fitness Center, Fishing, Hunting, Horseback Riding, Shopping, Restaurants, Cinemas, Museums, Sightseeing, Swimming, Boating, Sailing, Rafting, Downhill Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Wine Tasting at local vineyards, Brew Pubs.
In the winter enjoy some of the best ski and snowboarding in the state, at Cooper Spur (15 miles) and Mt. Hood Meadows (25 miles). If it’s sledding you desire, Little John Snow-Park is 20 minutes away.
In the summer spend the morning and afternoon exploring the Columbia River Gorge. You may choose to take a tour of the beautiful Hood River Valley by train, explore the fruit farms and wineries (on the fruit loop map) by car or take up some windsurfing lessons at the river. You may just want to hang out on our farm and feed the animals, pick your own fruit or just enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Hood on our swing.
This farm home features: A breath taking view of Mt. Hood. Four bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps eight with three queen beds, and one double bed, has a full kitchen with dishwasher, laundry room, large family room with beautiful over-sized furniture, a cozy wood burning fireplace, and a dining room that seats up to eight. Wi-Fi, Satellite TV, DVD and phone are also included. The kitchen has large appliances. It also comes with small appliances:
(coffee makers,grinder, hot water maker, toaster oven, toaster, blender, real size oven and microwave, ) Utensils, wine glasses, mugs, plates, pots and pans. All linens and towels are provided. Need extra bedding? Just ask. NO PETS OR SMOKING! Interaction with GuestsI am happy to interact with guests as much or as little as they wish. I live in the house down the orchard and am in, out and around the farm most of the days and evenings. However, I am always available through text or call. The Neighborhood-Please note our farm house sits on our 40 acre WORKING farm. Our farm stand shares the same driveway as our farm house and is very near. During the summer and fall months many people visit the farm stand from around the world for fruit picking and to take in the beautiful views of Mt. Hood and gardens surrounding the cottage, the yard of the rental is not private.
-During the spring time, if the temperature happens to drop below 30 degrees, I (along with the neighboring orchards) have to run the big wind machines, it will be loud and typically they can run anywhere from 12pm - 8am. Again, because we are a working farm, there is a possibility of tractors running early in the morning.
-Our farmhouse sits back from the HWY, however, it is not secluded and you may hear light traffic noise. Getting Around-Located 15 minutes South of Downtown Hood River

-The yard of the rental is not private during daylight hours, there will be a lot of foot traffic along the sides and back of the yards.
-There are two animal pens in close proximity of the farmhouse, typically housing goats. You may hear them in the mornings when it's breakfast time.
-You will be staying on a working farm, there are flies, bees, animals, tractors and the ground can be uneven in places.
-During the spring time, if the temperature happens to drop below 30 degrees, I (along with the neighboring orchards) have to run the big frost fans, it will be loud and typically they can run anywhere from 12pm - 8am. Again, because we are a working farm, there is a possibility of tractors running early in the morning.
-Upon departure if you could please load and start the dishwasher and strip the beds of their bedding it would be much appreciated.
