The SpaceThis is a legal airbnb and my permit number can be found in the "Other Things To Note" section. ***Before booking, please read the "House Rules" which contain more information about the house, and if you do end up booking, please read the "House Manual" before arriving for more of the same--like how to access the house and what the internet code is. When you receive your post-booking confirmation email from airbnb, the "House Manual" will be included. This is a two-bedroom, two bath home and to accommodate 4 people, beds are shared. One bed is a double and the other one is a queen. Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 11am. Many thanks! Enjoy all that inner-SE Portland has to offer in a beautiful and creative home that lives like an episode of Portlandia—complete with organic coffee and bath products, raised beds, kids bikes, and ping pong. Located in the Clinton neighborhood, visitors can walk to the People’s Coop, a year-round Farmers Market, New Seasons grocery store, the Löyly Sauna and a plethora of restaurants, cafes and bakeries—many showcasing local and organic fare—with vegan to omnivore offerings. Yoga studios, food carts, shopping and more are also in the vicinity, as are bike routes and bus stops, and a light rail line. Street parking available. Please see the "Guidebook" for great restaurant, grocery store and other suggestions in the neighborhood. Portland/Oregon travel information and maps are also available at the house. The home was built in 1905 and is a charming space that has been tastefully and artistically updated while retaining original touches like wood mouldings, hard wood floors and leaded windows. It is designed with an eclectic mix of mid-century, modern and eco styles. The home has recently undergone energy efficiency upgrades through Clean Oregon Energy Works and has a new furnace, AC, on-demand hot water, and is insulated and sealed creating a comfortable climate year-round. The kitchen features a five-burner gas range, dishwasher, butcher-block islands and custom farmhouse sink and is well-stocked for cooking. The upstairs/main floor includes the master bedroom with a queen bed and small dressing room, and the second bedroom with a double bed off the dining room, and a bathroom that includes a claw-foot tub and shower and view of the back garden. The downstairs contains a bathroom with a shower, and the entire space has a gorgeous "Claylin" floor that was installed using eco-friendly natural building techniques. PLEASE NOTE, the downstairs ceilings are relatively low. If you are over 6 feet tall, you might not find it ideal. That said, I had a guest who was 6'3"last summer who was fine with it. (Upstairs ceilings are 10ft high throughout.) The house also contains a washer and dryer, wireless Internet and local phone usage. The carriage house features convenient covered & secure bike storage, gas and charcoal grills and ping pong. The home is cared for by Amy, the owner, and her wonderful House Manager, Dorothy, who really makes things shine. Interaction with GuestsThere is a lockbox that enables guests to access the house whenever they arrive but if you would like me to be at the house and show you around when you arrive, please let me know and, if possible, I will do so. The NeighborhoodThe "Clinton" neighborhood is a mix of old and new Portland and has several fantastic amenities within walking distance. Please read my guidebook for full descriptions of the amenities. "Clinton" is one of the hottest neighborhoods in Portland's booming real estate market but it isn't as posh at neighborhoods like the Pearl in downtown. Getting AroundThere are several bus lines that access the house and the MAX light rail Orange Line "Clinton" stop is a 5-7 minute walk from the house. Guests can take the light rail from the airport. Get on the red line from the airport to the Mall/SW 5th Ave stop and transfer to the orange line, getting off at the Clinton/SE 12th Ave station. (The orange line turns into the yellow line, FYI). My house is approximately a half mile from the Clinton/SE 12th Ave station. Visit the Trimet website for other public transit info. A taxi from the airport will be around $40. Other Things to NoteHi. This is a legal airbnb and my permit number is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)-HO. I love having airbnb guests, and as you can see by the reviews, many people have enjoyed staying in my home. That said, this house may not be for everyone. It is an old, creaky building that isn't totally soundproof and as it is old, it also has charms, quirks and the patina of a century that you wouldn't find in a more modern dwelling--if you are expecting carpet and/or modern flooring and/or granite counter tops, this likely isn't the place for you. Also, if you are expecting a modern neighborhood filled with condos or homes with manicured lawns, this likely isn’t the locale for you. Despite having fantastic amenities close by, and being in a neighborhood that is highly desirable in Portland's real estate market, the neighborhood has a working-class feel on some levels, and this might not be suitable for all guests. It is a safe, walk-able, and quirky 'hood but isn't as posh as downtown's Pearl neighborhood or as stately as some of Portland's oldest enclaves. Also, there trains nearby--while most people haven't had problems with this, if you are very noise sensitive, you might. Further, due to the recent upgrades to the train line as part of the MAX light rail Orange Line expansion, the trains now never honk their horns. I do provide ear plugs though. I live very close to the Seven Corners New Seasons Grocery Store, 1954 SE Division St. Portland, OR 97202. You can use this address to get an estimate of where I am and can then use the Trimet website to access the public transportation options that will be available to you. Please let me know if you have any additional questions, and if you do book, please read the House Manual, which you will have access to after booking, before arrival and make sure that all members in your party are aware of the house protocols.

Guest AccessThe home includes two private bedrooms and two full bathrooms, as well as a well-stocked, modern kitchen, a comfy living room (help yourself to the grand piano), and a patio for enjoying your morning crossword or evening glass of wine outside. Interaction with GuestsI'll be hosting guests while I'm traveling for work, so you'll have the entire place to yourself, but I'm just a phone call away in case anything comes up. The NeighborhoodBrooklyn, Portland is a quiet neighborhood, with pretty, tree-lined streets, that's easily connected to the lively parts of town. My home is easy walking distance to great spots for coffee or a pint, an all-organic grocery store, and a great music venue. If you want to go for a run (or a nice walk), I'm half a mile from Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, a beautiful park along the Willamette river. Getting AroundThe brand-new light rail line (the orange MAX line) stops three blocks from my back door, and it takes you directly to PSU, downtown, and continues on to North Portland. The ride to the heart of downtown is 19 minutes, and you get to go over the prettiest bridge in the city: Tilikum Crossing (public transit, bikes, and pedestrians only). (Plus, there are PokéStops all along the route..) The closest bus stop is just a few steps from the back door, from which you can pick up the #17 and the #70. (The #17 takes you to downtown and the Pearl. The #70 bus takes you to Division/Clinton, Hawthorne, Belmont, Burnside, and even up to Alberta.) The #19 bus is a few blocks away, and takes you to PSU and downtown. If you're bringing a car, the home includes an off-street parking spot. (If your friends drop by, they'll find plentiful free parking on my block: no permits, no street cleaning days.) The trip by car from the airport is about 20 minutes without traffic, 35 minutes at worst; a taxi runs around $45 with tip. The trip by public transit from the airport is about an hour (and is very straightforward). Other Things to NoteThe master bedroom has a queen bed and a walk-in closet. Down the hall, the guest room can be configured as a den, an office, or a second bedroom. The bed in the guest room is an incredibly comfortable pull-out (top-of-the-line from American Leather, new in 2014): my parents picked it out to sleep on when they visit (and they're fussy). I use Boll and Branch sheets, along with soft linen duvets from Eileen Fisher. You'll sleep soundly! I have an outstanding professional cleaning service who come before each guest's arrival, so the place will be spotless when you check in.

The SpaceWith two small children at home, we have found little time to paint in the second floor of the studio building at the rear of our property. Come and enjoy this lovely space! It features high ceilings, ample light, a wood stove (with back-up electric heat), views of the surrounding gardens, a large table and a drafting table to spread out and work on, and an art book library. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. It does not have a cook top or oven or toaster. We provide coffee and tea. The bathroom features a shower stall and an eco-toilet that collects water from hand washing to use on the next flush. With summer temperatures rising, we recently added an AC window unit for our guests comfort. We offer a full bed with a seven inch Ikea spring mattress and a two inch memory-foam topper. Our guests report that the room is surprisingly quiet at night. Please note we do not have a TV; however, our wifi is fast enough to watch movies or shows on your personal device. Guest AccessWe have a shared garden patio and BBQ. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to meet our guests at some point during their stay, but it's not necessary if schedules don't allow. We will be on the premises at night and most days. On sunny days, you will usually see us out working in the garden or playing with the kids in the yard. The NeighborhoodI love this place. This is a residential neighborhood with a wide cross section of racial and economic diversity, a lot of the old 'hood funkiness still intact, plus newer hipster creativity and some higher-end business activity. Expect to see a mix of dilapidated buildings and newer or rejuvenated construction. We feel safe at night, however I do advise women to be wary about walking alone at night, particularly if you don't have much street smarts. We are within easy walking distance of Alberta Street Co-op, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. The post office, laundromat, Safeway and Walgreens are very close by as well. Getting AroundWe are close to the #6 and #8 bus lines, both of which go to downtown Portland or to the MAX red line which goes to the airport. We are a 10-15 minute drive to downtown (with no traffic). We are a 25-30 minute bus ride to downtown and an hour bus and train to the airport. There is usually a Car2Go parked nearby. Guests may park on the street nearby. Other Things to NoteOur dogs are friendly once they have been introduced to you. However, the rat terrier greets strangers with a loud, aggressive bark. We will make every effort to keep the dogs indoors or supervised in the back yard during your stay. The first floor of the studio building contains a woodshop which will not be used at any time when guests are there. However, you may hear us quietly enter and exit to retrieve an occasional tool.

The SpaceExtremely large one bedroom apartment in historic house, very centrally located in the Buckman neighborhood of SE Portland. This unit has a private staircase and entrance in the rear of house with access to a shady backyard. There are hardwood floors throughout the apartment, built in cabinets and antique fixtures. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and a nice closet with extra blankets and pillows to accommodate more guests. The living room futon is also queen sized and comfortable to sleep on. There are french doors that separate this room from the rest of the house so it can be used as a second bedroom when needed. There is a claw foot bath tub and shower in the bathroom and everything provided in the kitchen for cooking. The apartment is set back from the street and stays quiet throughout the day. The space gets plenty of light and stays cool on hot days. There is electric heat for guests staying in the winter. We have television and wifi in the apartment. We are located on the bus and street car line and are walking distance from downtown, convention center and plenty of desirable restaurants and shops. There is a great coffee shop directly across the street and a bar/diner that serves a both a conventional and vegan menu late into the night. We are happy to accommodate special requests when possible. Please message me with any questions. Enjoy Portland!

The SpaceEvery nook and cranny of this joint has been spruced up and is anticipating your arrival. This apartment is only used through airbnb meaning it is staged so you feel like you live in it and have every cozy thing you will need like a hotel but so much better...There is an all equipped kitchen and an incredibly comfy queen bed in the albeit small cozy bedroom. The bedroom has a sliding door, closet, and the bed built into the corner. There is also a couch in the living area that has a bed inside of it for extra guests. There are heated floors so that your feet are warm in the winter time. A ton of great books to curl up and read and a patio outside of your french doors and private entrance from the street. There is also a driveway in front of the apartment which is yours to use or not. This abode was made to feel rustic so much of the wood is unfinished. If you prefer brand new construction with a rustic finish this is the place for you. Location! Location! Location! We are in an awesome location! Not near the Alberta district but IN it yet we are a couple of blocks away which means our street is quiet. We are a stone's throw from so many great bars and restaurants. This could be a vacation of all walking or you could hop on one of the many public transit options a few blocks away. Or you could rent bikes on Alberta St. This neighborhood is so fun and filled with cute and unique small businesses, shops and establishments yet it is also peaceful. The farmer's market is exactly three blocks down the street and takes place each Sunday. Last Thursday is a festival once a month on Alberta St. We are also walkable/bikeable to other neighborhoods in the NE like the Williams Corridor and Mississippi St. Our abode is like a retreat in a very fun city! We are here as your hosts to help create the best stay possible but it is likely we may never see you as your apartment is completely private from our home. The space is a garden level so it is underneath our house but has french doors and a big window overlooking your own outside space. This space gets great light and truly feels like a cabin. Even though we took great measures in sound proofing you still will hear us pittering and pattering upstairs, our dog barking at the mailman, or our washer/dryer when it is on. You will have a sound machine in your bedroom in case you are a sensitive sleeper and the above might disturb you. We will also leave you an extensive homegrown list of the best spots in town and will only be a text away! Feel free to partake in 420 activities as the kids say these days outside the abode where the patio table and chairs are located. The feeling of the apartment is truly unique and quite an experience. We look forward to creating the best nest for your Portland adventure. Interaction with GuestsGuests will self check in. Other Things to NoteSelf Check In - Please keep your confirmation email as it has the instructions for Self Check In. Confirmation Email is sent upon making reservation. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)-HO

The SpaceEnjoy panoramic views and gorgeous sunsets of downtown Portland and access to nature amidst the 600 acre nature park of Powell Butte. Our family home is a relaxed retreat with farm-like qualities as we host goats, horses, chickens, dogs and cats along with little people, plenty of bunnies and a big garden of greens that you are welcome to partake in. We have two guest rooms with Queen Beds on the top floor overlooking city views of downtown. There is a full bath on each floor and one on the main floor is always designated for guests. Many visitors enjoy the old-growth hikes or scenic views atop the butte, biking, hiking or horse back riding. There is public transit to downtown at the bottom of the hill, and with the right route you can be into inner SE or downtown in 15-20 min. The main attraction is the retreat within the city feel. Guests can expect to make themselves at home. We will stock the fridge with breakfast items and leave out the coffee and tea. Fresh eggs and greens are always available. We are a busy working family and often gone 2-3 times a week so there will be long stretches where the house will be yours visiting briefly in person in passing when schedules allow. Hardwood floors, tongue and groove ceilings and walls, custom cabinets and shelving, high end kitchen appliances, butcher block, steel, and concrete counters, farmhouse sink, custom light fixtures and hand built furniture, large private back yard, front and rear porches. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is just a few blocks walking from the Alberta Arts district with tons of great restaurants, shops, and bars. Not far from parks, public transit, and easy access to the airport, downtown, and interstates connecting to the great outdoors. Head south on a stroll to the Alameda Ridge and Irvington neighborhoods to see some of Portland's oldest and most beautiful homes amongst old growth tree lined streets. Getting AroundAccess to main bus routes with connections to MAX, the Airport, and the Amtrak Train Station. Walking distance to many amazing restaurants, shops, and bars. Off a main bike boulevard with quick connections to all parts of the city. Other Things to NotePlease be careful going up and down the stairs, they are quite narrow and steep. The SpacePrivate apartment in Inner SE Portland right next to the popular natural food Coop, Peoples! Guest AccessFirepit in back yard, basketball court! Interaction with GuestsFeel free to say hi and ask us any questions! The NeighborhoodClose to popular South East Portland restaurants, Get downtown in minutes! Getting Around#9 bus downtown, close to the new Trimet Milwaukie Line! Walking distance to great food near Clinton and Division neighborhoods. 3 blocks from 7 Corners New Seasons market. Biketown available just down the street on Clinton St. Other Things to NoteThe deck in front of the apartment can get slippery when wet! Please note that the main house is occupied by Kristen's sister's family, the backyard is considered a "common space". Also, since the space is so small, there is limited storage for clothing - there are drawers under the bed that slide out. If you are sensitive to noise, please note that the Cottage shares a common wall with the People's Coop next door and can sometimes be a little loud in the early mornings. Also, although this is a newer renovation, the cottage is located in the Pacific Northwest and is not immune to nature's "pests" which may enter the space if windows or doors are left open.

The SpaceWe have a beautiful house in a really great part of the city. Our downstairs apartment is very comfortable and can easily accommodate a vacationing couple, young family, (we have a high chair and pack and play and extra bedding for babies and young children plus sandbox and swing in the back yard,) or could be a great place for a working professional. Guests have internet access and a TV with a roku for streaming netflix. We do not have cable television. Laundry access for a small fee. We're friendly and like meeting new people. This house is a safe and welcoming place for people of all ethnicities, genders and sexual orientations. The NeighborhoodThe Mt Tabor neighborhood is collection of genteel homes at the base of a large park on a small mountain. It has peace and tree-filled woodsiness but is close in enough to shop, dine and entertain oneself on foot with ease. The Park itself is one of the finest in Portland, with amazing views of the city, grand turn of the century open reservoirs and hiking and biking trails galore. Getting AroundThere is regular bus service on 60th street, 1/2 block away, and the max line is approximately one mile away. Easy biking and walking to some of the best that Southeast has to offer on Hawthorne, Belmont and Division Streets. Other Things to NoteWe have dogs and a cat in a separate part of the house from the apartment. The dogs are very friendly. We can be very family friendly, with two young kids ourselves, we have the tools and toys and extra to spare. That said, we do have two young children. We try to keep noise to a minimum, but a boisterous voice or footsteps may be heard. The SpaceThis apartment has it all: in a historic victorian house, yet entirely brand new with stainless appliances and marble throughout. Less than a block from NW 23rd shops and restaurants. Just three blocks to the Street Car (local mass transit) which allows easy access to all of Portland. Staying here, you will probably never have to use a car to get around downtown. Privatly gated (only for this apartment) and personal outdoor patio area. Pet friendly and with two dogs parks within a 7 minute walk. Apartment also has its own laundry room. This truly has one of the best walking scores in all of Portland. Some of the best restaurants and shops are 1 block away. If you have been to Portland before, and you have spent time in the Northwest neighborhood, then you don't need any further reference, but if you haven't, then you are in for a treat. This apartment is located in one of the oldest and most authentic parts of town, the Alphabet District. This is a basement apartment in the 'Ella Rand' house, which is a Queen Anne Victorian once owned by Henry Louis Pittock. The only downside is that although there are windows in the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, there really isn't much to see. If you want the view, please stay on the 20th or so floor at the Hyatt! Interaction with GuestsI am almost 100% available for guests. Getting AroundBus is a block away. The Street Car is 3 blocks away. MAX is about a 7-10 minute walk.

Many parks surround the area as well as restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery. Getting AroundAn abundance of free street parking is available around the neighborhood. We are close in and it is extremely easy to get around to different parts of the city by car or bus. We are close to bus lines 24, 17, and 8. We are also located on the 24 bus line and we are blocks away from the 17 bus line which will take you downtown and beyond. Other Things to NoteWe do have a 2 year old and a dog so you may hear an occasional bout of laughter, a playful bark or a pitter patter of footsteps come from the upstairs area. For the most part it's pretty quiet after 8pm after the little ones have gone off to bed. For third and fourth guests there is a comfortable couch with extra blankets and pillows or a queen size self inflatable air mattress. We don't consider kids 12 and under extra guests so you don't have to pay the extra fee for them. The electrical panel is in the basement. We have wireless internet and there is free on-street parking available. We will stock coffee, tea, espresso, and fixings - just let us know if you have any particular preferences. The bathroom will be fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap - you are welcome to use our hair dryer or iron if needed. And of course you'll have fresh sheets and towels upon arrival. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to meet you upon arrival and let you know about some of our favorite local spots to eat, run, hike, drink beer, shop and play. Or if you prefer, we can just give you the code to the front door and that's it! The NeighborhoodOur home is located in a lovely neighborhood on a quiet street that is excellent for kids to bike, skateboard and run around. Half a block away is the bike boulevard, Going Street, which can take you west all the way to the shopping of Vancouver & Williams or Mississipi, or connect to an easy bike trip downtown. We are 6 blocks from the delicious Old Salt Marketplace & Restaurant, Red Sauce Pizza, and Miss Zumstein's coffee. It's a 15 minute walk to the Alberta Arts district with its galleries, toy stores, and the delightful Tiny Cart Massage - just let us know if you are booking a massage, we have 10% off coupons to share! Alberta also hosts lots of delicious places to eat (including Stella Taco, Chaba Thai, Bollywood PDX, Bamboo Sushi, Ciao Vito and Salt & Straw Ice Cream, to name a few). And if you prefer to stay in, New Seasons Marketplace (our 'local Whole Foods' with a fantastic ready made deli section) is just 8 blocks away. Getting AroundWe're a $20 taxi ride (5 miles, 10-15 minutes) to the Portland Airport. The #75 Trimet Bus stops 4 blocks away, and runs south to the Hollywood Transit Center. From there you can catch the Max to the airport or downtown, or a number of buses to other locations. Everybody's Bike Rentals is 2 miles away, a straight shot down going. The SpaceWonderful, clean, comfortable, spacious downstairs apartment with large bedroom in a pleasant setting. Air conditioning is available. Eliot Neighborhood web site quote: 'As a real estate agent focusing on Portland’s many “close-in” neighborhoods – some newer that are up and coming and others that are already established – I’m tasked with ongoing research about what each has to offer. My pitch when describing Eliot is that “I have lived here since 1994 and don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon.” I am sold on our central location. I point out how we have such easy access to the freeways, 2 Max Lines, and many bus routes to choose from. Not to mention the bike corridor on Williams and Vancouver, plus the Street Car in Eliot as well! I fall more in love with our neighborhood every year.'

Our home was originally built in 1908 and renovated in the summer of 2013 prior to us purchasing it. Think of a classic bungalow with a new lease on life: ample natural light, an open floor plan and comfortably outfitted to make you feel at home. While the neighborhood offers numerous dining options, you will have a great kitchen at your disposal as well. Serve up the crew at the countertop bar for four or spread out at the farm table for a leisurely meal. In terms of who we host, our primary focus is on couples or families traveling together. As such, we are limiting the number of unrelated adults we host to four. No smoking or shoes inside, please. Or scooters--yes, we now have to make this clear...For June-August, we have a three night minimum. If your travelling interests align with ours for hosting--a comfortable, quality space to be treated accordingly--our values will align nicely. Both bedrooms on the main level have queen beds, the master has its own bath; the second has access off the guest bath. The upstairs loft has a foosball table and space for the kids to spread out with a game or just to chill. All sleeping areas have window mounted air conditioning units which work well on those warm nights. Between the main floor and bonus space upstairs, there is approximately 1700 square feet of space which is yours to use as you see fit, although we do ask that shoes not be worn inside. The classic bungalow front porch adds another 200 square feet for enjoying some of Portland's best java, afternoon margaritas or the nightcap with a good glass of wine. The side patio provides another great place to relax with the umbrella providing shade as needed. The table comfortably seats six and the gas grill is available for guest use. Parking is off street which has to be highlighted. Due to the neighborhood's popularity, parking can be difficult but guests have their own reserved spot--two in fact, as it is a tandem spot (bumper-to-bumper). The living area in the basement has a separate entrance and is accessed from the back of the home. And yes, our bungalow was in the 2014 season of Portlandia, episode 1 (Sandra and her soul mate). I'll describe the neighborhood as hip, but not smug; eclectic, but not edgy. Enjoy all the offerings of North Portland: we are 1/2 block west of Mississippi Avenue with its abundance of restaurants, food carts, pubs and shops. Mississippi Pizza, Ruby Jewel (hand crafted ice cream), Miss Kate's Southern Kitchen, Prost...so much to sample, so little time. Just to offer even more choices, we are a 15 minute walk to additional eating options on Williams Avenue or a short 10 minute drive to the Alberta Arts district. The MAX yellow line (light rail) is a 10 minute walk to the west and can get you directly to sports events or concerts in the Rose Quarter or quickly across the river to downtown. Parking is easy: off-street for two vehicles.
