The SpaceWe live on a floating home on the Multnomah Channel across from Sauvie's Island outside of Portland, OR. There is spectacularly easy access to nature AND the city for you to enjoy at your leisure.
In any season, the quietude and beauty of the river is unmatched. Herons, osprey, bald eagles, geese, and beaver are a few of our "other residents" you'll see. The river is deep enough to dive in! Also, if you're up for a kayak adventure or relaxed float downstream, it's all right outside our doorstep. Guest AccessYou'll be staying in your own separate room with a queen-sized bed and full-sized closet for your use. You will also have the downstairs bathroom all to yourselves.
There is a shared living room, kitchen, and outdoor deck which look right out on the river.
With a coded entry, you can come and go as you please. Interaction with GuestsUniquely situated *on* the river, we LOVE to share our home! We like to provide the perfect balance of interaction and solitude so that you, too, may fully enjoy the serenity found here.
We're equipped to assist if you want to take our kayaks on the river off our front deck - or - at an extra cost - somewhere within the Portland area. The NeighborhoodReally, the beauty of our home, is how easily you can access the city while also having the option to recreate and relax on the river. We live in a rural environment only 20 minutes from Portland, Oregon. There is a large Fred Meyer grocery store nearby, great pizza at Fultano's, and a Farmer's Market open May through September.
If you're heading into the city, there are literally thousands of things to choose from: amazing food, beer, wine, coffee houses, theater, dancing, nature hikes, waterfalls, and so much more. Need recommendations? We have MANY. Kalliste has lived in Portland for over 22 years, so can direct you to almost anything. Getting AroundIf you want to drop into Portland, you'll need a vehicle. Public transportation is limited and especially on weekends. Other Things to NoteOur moorage has "quiet hours" of 10 PM to 7 AM, though that is mostly for amplified sound. Please feel free to come and go as you please, simply be mindful of louder voices when on the main docks or outside late at night.
