Rail-to-Trails is located at the end of the block from where our home is located. This is a beautiful trail that follows along the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River. We highly recommend touring this trail either by walking or on your bicycle. This trail is BEAUTIFUL and follows along the Juniata River!
Raystown Lake Recreation Area - many refer to Raystown Lake as the crown jewel of Pennsylvania. It is the largest lake within the state with it's 118 miles of shoreline, 8,300 acres of clean, clear water and 30 miles of lake, there is lots of room to enjoy all kinds of water activity.
Eight launch ramps are available for boaters, the lake has no size or horsepower restrictions, and personal watercrafts are welcome.
Marina located at Lake Raystown Resort (located on 15 minutes from where you are staying).

Trough Creek State Park - enjoy a panoramic view of the Great Trough Creek gorge after a hike to Balanced Rock. Along the way, hikers can experience the suspension bridge over Great Trough Creek and the beautiful Rainbow Falls!
The Juniata River - The Raystown Branch of the Juniata River is located right in our backyard. This river is great for fishing, canoeing & kayaking. There are canoe and kayak rentals at Riddlesburg River Rats which is located only 5 minutes from where you are staying and Fat Jimmy's located in Bedford (15 to 20 minutes from where you are staying) and other places near the area. The house is located within 25 minutes of Historic downtown Bedford. There are all kinds of antique shops, shopping, the wonderful Bedford Springs Resort, wineries, Old Bedford Village and Covered Bridge Tours offered here.
Many State Parks in the area - There are lots of State Parks in the surrounding area. You could choose to hike or bike in the parks.
Located less than an hour away is the Altoona area which offers all kinds of great shopping, dining, sporting events such as the Altoona Curve baseball stadium. This is very fun if you enjoy baseball outings. The Curve Stadium is next to Lakemont Park (small amusement park). Down the road from Altoona is another amusement park called DelGrosso's Amusement Park.
Located an hour from the house toward Somerset area is Seven Springs Resort (many fun activities), Falling Waters, and the 911 Memorial site.
Located 2 hours away is the Pittsburgh area which has so many things to even mention. Some of the popular attractions here would be a Pirates game, Station Square, Incline Plane, The Gateway Clipper Tour, Kennywood Amusement Park, etc.
And lots, lots more to even mention. Getting AroundParking available on the street in front of the house and also off-street parking available in the garage parking lot beside the home.
