Bell Mansion is believed to be the first brick building constructed in northern Blair County. Owned by the Edward Bell family, the founders of Bellwood, this area was originally referred to as Bell's Mills (the family owned several mills) and then Bell's Woods (nearly three thousand acres were controlled by this successful, wealthy family). The Bell Mansion was completely restored and enhanced in 1995 by means of a nearly two million dollar grant obtained by Antis Township through the generosity of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Much more history available concerning the building, the family and the area.
