The SpaceMy apartment is one of 15 located in a historic brick building near downtown State College. The building houses mainly graduate students and professionals (no undergraduates). The apartment features french doors leading into the living room and four large windows that bring in lots of natural light; there are also opaque blinds if you want to sleep in ;) Much of the apartment has hardwood flooring. While I only have a love seat and a recliner, there is plenty of space for an air mattress or cot if you wanted to bring one. I also have a private library of around 150 books; please feel free to look through them during your stay! Guest AccessYou will have the entire apartment to yourself during your stay. While you should feel free to use the kitchen and any essential cooking items (dishes, pots and pans, olive oil, seasonings, etc.), I would appreciate it if you did not consume food and beverage items that are not your own. Please note that I do not have a microwave. Additional items available to you upon request: 1) Iron and ironing board Interaction with GuestsI give my guests complete privacy, although I am available via phone and email to answer any questions you may have during your stay or to provide recommendations if this is your first visit to State College. The NeighborhoodThe apartment is centrally located, just two blocks from downtown, and a 10-15 minute walk to campus. Bars, dozens of restaurants, a grocery store, and several coffee shops are all within walking distance. There is also a laundromat just across the street if you need one. Getting AroundThere is a CATA bus stop just 2 blocks away outside the public library (at the intersection of Beaver and Allen), which will take you anywhere on campus for free! Other Things to Note**I do own a hypoallergenic Siberian cat. The Siberian cat breed is the most hypoallergenic cat breed; 90% of people who suffer from cat allergies, report no allergic reaction to Siberians. I have severe allergies to cats and my symptoms are virtually nonexistent. I also own a HEPA air purifier, which removes 99.99% of pet dander and odor from the air, and as a result, greatly reduces the amount of cat allergens you are exposed to while staying in the apartment. Please rent the apartment at your own risk, as I cannot guarantee that you will not have an allergic reaction (everyone's different). If you are allergic, please notify me ahead of time and I will take extended measures to remove pet dander before your arrival. Please be assured that I remove all trace of the cat before my guests arrive. **While the garage space is large enough to accommodate most vehicles, if you will be driving a large truck or SUV, you may want to check the dimensions with me ahead of time to make sure it will fit. There is daytime, on-street parking just outside of the building and also a 24/7 covered parking garage down the street that charges $.50/hr for overnight parking (free on Sundays). **Please do not attempt to open the windows in the apartment as they have been sealed shut to keep bugs out.

The SpaceThe room is very well lit during the day, it is spacious and can fit two queen sized beds. It includes a separate closet and a separate bathroom with a shower that we just installed. The basement is located directly beneath the living room and sound travels both ways, so we try to be quiet when others are here and expect the same from our guests (particularly in the night and evening). The house is situated in one of the nicest and quietest neighborhoods of State College. It is located 10 minutes away from campus and downtown (15-25 minutes by bus depending on the route). Please note: this is one of our two listings, which means there might be someone else staying in the house at the same time. Guest AccessGuests are free to use the microwave in your room, the fridge and kettle in the kitchen, the living room and the deck. We provide tea and coffee (just ask). Please let us know in advance if you plan to do any cooking. We provide you with plates, mugs, silverware. Interaction with GuestsThere will be some interactions with us (since you will be staying at our home) and we like to talk and get to know our guests. Sasha works from home, so she is usually around to help you out. Since the basement is somewhat separate from the rest of the house there is some additional privacy. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is very green, quiet and safe. It is close to a shopping and restaurant area, a cinema, a nice brewery and the main route to campus. Getting AroundThere are bus stops a 3-5-minute walk away (we provide our guests with a bus route and schedule booklet). We are near three bus routes. Depending on which route you choose it will take you 15-25 minutes to get to campus or downtown. It's a less than 10 minute drive from us to campus and about an hour walk. There is only one bus running on Saturday and no buses run on Sunday. See the CATA bus website for details. You can park your car in front of our house. There is room for several cars. Other Things to NotePlease note, we have a 2 night minimum stay for football and parents' weekends. We have a very cute dog, but he will probably bark at you when you arrive. If you ignore his barking he will stop. We do not accept reservations from large groups (sport teams, a cappella groups, etc.)

The SpaceThe perfect spot for your Penn State weekend. If you want to be in the heart of the action, and have an apartment to yourself, then you can't do any better than this. It is smack in the middle of downtown State College, all of the bars and restaurants a crawl away, and makes for a perfect home base for your Penn State weekend. There is no TV because, well, why would you want to watch TV when you're so close to all the action? Guest AccessThe entire private, 1-bedroom apartment will be available to guests. Interaction with GuestsDepending on work schedules, guest interaction will be fairly minimal. We will absolutely check in if there are loud parties and ask you to stop. You're adults, go to the bars, they're more fun anyway. The NeighborhoodDowntown State College isn't overwhelming, but essentially anywhere you could want to go is within short walking distance. There simply isn't a more centralized location than this apartment. Getting AroundIf, for any reason, you do need to take public transportation, there is the CATA bus system, as well as nearby taxis and Uber. If bringing your own car, parking is available (varying rates) at the Pugh Street parking garage about a half block away. Other Things to NoteThere is a long flight of stairs to get up to the second floor apartment, and it is the only access to the apartment.

The price is $150 per room per night but since the bathroom is shared, we've combined them into one listing. If you only want one bedroom, send us a message and we can discuss it. It's an easy trip to the football stadium from our house. We're 2 miles from campus. One room is air conditioned, one is not, though they both stay cool. We have a furnished basement with pull-out beds so if you have a bigger group, feel free to inquire about using the basement. Parking on the street is free and available. We have a large deck with a grill which is nice on summer nights. We have a small (non-allergenic) friendly dog. We enjoy hosting and are happy to cook breakfast in the morning and to help with ideas for what to do and how to get around. We're parents of adult children and our home is a relaxed family atmosphere. The SpaceThis three story townhouse is spacious, clean, and well enjoyed. It's close to campus (a 10 minute drive/bus ride or 30 minute walk), but far enough from all the hustle to feel quiet and secluded. It's a small row of townhouses that are owned (not rented), which makes for a peaceful and respectful little community. Your private room is clean, naturally cool, welcoming, and on the lower-ground floor (where you will have the spacious floor to yourself with a cozy seating area and coffee table). You'll have fresh linens on a Full/Double sized bed, towels, shampoo, body wash, and a private coffee maker and tea. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire first floor (living room, dining room, back porch, and kitchen), their private level, and all the bathrooms (the half-bath exclusively for guests). The shared spaces are also the kitchen, living room and dining rooms, as well as the one full bath upstairs, where the shower is located. Interaction with GuestsThe townhouse is occupied by two doctoral students at Penn State. We're polite, hospitable, and generous with our guests. We'll both be present during your stay but out of your way, unless you'd prefer otherwise. We'll keep a respectful distance that reflects your preference-but are also happy to socialize and get to know you! During the week we're generally away from the house from morning until the evenings, but we're fairly homebound on the weekends. Depending on when you stay, we'll feel more/less visible. The NeighborhoodWe're close enough to campus to walk to school daily, but far enough away to feel removed from it all. We're a 2 minute drive from a major grocery store, liquor store, bowling alley, and 10 minutes from downtown state college. We're nestled right along state college's winding network of bike/walking paths that offer beautiful scenery and peaceful walks. Getting AroundParking here is free, but there is also a fairly decent bus system with stops nearby the townhouse. Getting here from the airport or the megabus stop might require a cab ride (about 10-12 dollars from the airport, 5-7 from the bus stop), but if either of us are available we'd be happy to give you a lift! Other Things to NoteThe bed is a pillow-top mattress and sits relatively low to the ground on a wooden frame. Its a size Full so sleeps two people in a cozy way. There is additional room in the lower-ground floor for an additional guest, your own air mattress should be provided.

The SpaceThe house is situated in a beautiful and quiet area of State College (Park Forest). In close proximity to local shopping and restaurant areas and the bus going straight to campus is right nearby. This listing is for a guest bedroom with a real queen size bed. There is also enough room for a single size mattress (that you are welcome to bring with you) if you are staying with a small child. Because of the size of the room more than 2 adults would not feel comfortable there. The bathroom is shared with us. This is one of our two listings, which means there might be someone else staying in the house at the same time, but they have a separate bathroom downstairs. Guest AccessGuests are free to use the microwave, the fridge and kettle in the kitchen, the living room and the deck. We provide tea, instant coffee, cream and oatmeal. Please let us know in advance if you plan to do any cooking. Interaction with GuestsThere will be some interactions with us (since you will be staying at our home). We are always happy to answer any questions you might have.

The SpaceThe home is elegant and simply furnished--not crowded or cluttered. We have all the appliances you'd need (blender, stove, etc.), plus some extra amenities (e.g., some exercise equipment). The bedrooms include: an upstairs guest room with double futon near a full bathroom, and a double futon with a half bathroom on the house's lower level. (The hosts have a separate bed/bath.) Guest AccessThe full house is accessible, and the driveway can accommodate three cars comfortably. We aren't providing meals, though you are welcome to use space in the refrigerator. Clean linens and towels provided. Interaction with GuestsWe will be hands-off hosts, available as needed but not hovering. This is a great place for respectful guests who want a home away from home when visiting State College. It is not a party house. We would like to correspond with guests in advance and discuss how they would like to use the home. We want to keep it in the same perfect condition it's been in since its original owner had it built in 1960. We're only its second owner and intend to stay here for many years. The NeighborhoodGorgeous gardens and award-winning designs for homes in the immediate vicinity. Parks nearby, walking distance to PSU/downtown. Less than an hour walk to Beaver Stadium. Maximum two-person occupancy, two-night minimum stay. Things to keep in mind: This apartment is on a limited-service bus line (no weekend service) and is *not* within walking distance to downtown State College. Guests staying in the apartment would do best if they have a car. Apartment does *not* have a TV or air conditioning. This apartment is in the lower level of our home. We will be home during rental periods, and are looking for renters who are reasonably quiet after 10 p.m. We do have one cat, but the cat has never entered the apartment. No smoking in the apartment. Guest AccessThe apartment is attached to our home, but a separate entity in terms of access. Guests have their own space completely separate from our household. Interaction with GuestsThe apartment is in the lower level of our home. We try to be home to greet our guests and make sure they're settled into the apartment OK. Once in a while, we can't be home to greet guests, in which case we make sure they know how to get into the apartment, and then try to connect once we get home. When we know our guests are settled and have what they need, we generally have little additional contact with them, unless they seek us out. The NeighborhoodWe're in a residential neighborhood. There are no services (shops, gas stations, etc.) in our neighborhood. Getting AroundWe are on the C route of the Centre Area Transportation Authority bus line. There are also several taxi companies in the area. Other Things to NoteGuests who stay at our place would do best with their own car, as public transportation in our neighborhood is minimal.
