Close to restaurants and dining and family-friendly activities, you’ll love my place because of the coziness, the views, the location, the kitchen, the privacy, the feeling of being on your own country estate. Set on 18 acres of a historic elegant manor home, this Victorian cottage has its own separate driveway and is private located away from main house. Visit and feed the friendly goats in the pasture behind the house. Walk down and daydream by the stream. Build a bonfire and tell long tales. The space - The main house was built in 1757 by the wealthy John Moore as a country estate/escape from the city living in Philadelphia. The surrounding area/village was known as Moore's Glen. In the 1800s the name of the town was changed to Glenmoore. The property has hosted US Presidents and many family events and weddings. Guest access - You'll have use of the whole house and a separate driveway so we won't cross paths unless you desire. Feel free to walk around the property. Feed the goats or chickens. Sit and daydream in the loveseat by the stream. Visit the gazebo. Build a campfire. Pick vegetables from the garden. Relax. Make yourselves at home! Tours of the historical main house are available upon request. Interaction with guests - We live in the manor house and are always available to answer questions or assist in any way. We're happy to introduce our family, pets and property to you OR we're happy to protect your privacy and leave you to your leisure. The neighborhood - Beautify Chester County landscapes and countryside. Bring your walking shoes or your mountain bikes. Or, just bring a book and a toothbrush! CHECK OUT - Springton Manor Farm, Wyebrook Farm, Highland Orchards, Hersheypark, Longwood Gardens, Strasburg Train Museum, Victory Brewery, Philadelphia Art Museum, Barnes Foundation, Franklin Institute, Independence Museum, National Constitution Center Getting around - It's an easy drive into Philadelphia (50 min), New York City (2.15 hours) or Washington, DC. OR, take Amtrak or the regional train (SEPTA) from Downingtown, Exton or Paoli train stations. Other things to note - Seasonally, there are so many activities near and far, ask us for our recommendations based on YOUR interests and preferences.
