The SpaceOur property boasts at least 25 varieties of seasonal tropical, organic fruit and nut trees (mango, lime, acerola, two kinds of starfruit, lychee, soursop, banana, grapefruit, parcha, coconut, almond, loquat, etc), gorgeous tropical flowers(bird of paradise, ginger, lobster claw, orchids), several small streams and a small mountain river that fills our natural pool.
The structures on the property consist of:
La Villa- This wonderful and spacious 3 bedroom 2 bath home sleeps 6 guests (+). Most groups use this home as the meeting place since it’s perfectly appointed with a large living room that leads to the dining area and then out to the large deck overlooking our lush landscape. We have a fully equipped kitchen inside & a BBQ grill outside for indoor and outdoor foodies.
La Casita- This completely remodelled little home has everything you need to enjoy a romantic getaway. It’s a 1 bedroom studio home with a kitchenette, breakfast area, queen size bed, full modern bath with stand up shower, A/C and of course the delightful front porch overlooking one of our organic gardens.
El Bohio- Is my favorite space if I had to choose one. As you approach the building, you will see a set of old style Puerto Rico double doors and a painted mural that fits the rainforest perfectly. Once you open the doors, you walk into the large open air studio with 2 queen size beds to the left, a dining area in the middle and a full kitchen on the right. The ceiling is high and shows off the beautifully crafted wood work trusses and two large ceiling fans. This space has no glass windows. Where most people would place windows, we placed ½ inch chicken wire over regular window screen so it’s like camping in the middle of the rainforest but in a home with a door. Even the detached bathroom which is tucked away right by the space is delightful. I get excited just writing about it!
La Cabaña- This little cabin is built completely out of wood and has the same open air setup of The Bohio. We made a small home with a queen bed, kitchenette, extremely private side porch and a full bath. Once you get through the bathroom, you open a shower door that takes you to a unique outdoor shower surrounded by an 8 foot wall with a monsoon shower head and no roof. This cabin is a stand alone space in the front part of the property with a hammock area within a banana grove and you get to hear the sound of the spring fed tilapia pond all night which lulls you to sleep with the coquis.
Note: Both the Bohio and La Cabaña have curtains to create privacy when/if you’d like some.

The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is just that: A community of people coming together looking out for one another, and very open to welcoming travelers from all around the world. Many of the locals that you’ll meet in this area don’t travel much, so it is just as exciting for them to meet you as it is for you to meet them. Everyone I know is very giving, loving, genuine and humble, which is one of the many things that makes you fall in love with our beautiful island.
We are located down the mountain from the south side of El Yunque National Rainforest Preserve, the only rainforest in the U.S. National Forest system. Our guests often enjoy an all-day guided hike in the rainforest or a conyoneering adventure, and then are happy to return to a gracious, elegant quiet home base during their stay. Many visit the plethora of attractions on the east side of Puerto Rico which include the bioluminescent bay in Fajardo, the beaches of Luquillo and Fajardo, snorkeling, catamaran trips out to the cays off of Puerto Rico, lighthouses, as well as the ferry dock for travel out to Vieques and Culebra islands. We are also close to ocean sports such as snorkeling/diving, surfing, kayaking, charter fishing as well as, casinos, golf, horseback riding, hang gliding, skydiving, fly fishing and more.
