The SpaceThe guest bedroom is very private, and has a queen size bed with a closet (that includes hangers, an iron, and an ironing board). The room also has a large dresser with three empty drawers, if you'd like to unpack your bag during your stay. There is a private bathroom across the hall, with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash included. Guest AccessI welcome you to enjoy the common areas, including the kitchen, dining room and living room. I do not have cable, but do have Wi-Fi access throughout the home that you are welcome to use for internet surfing, Netflix, and Hulu. You are also welcome to relax on the front porch. Interaction with GuestsMy work schedule varies, so sometimes I am home during the day and/or evenings, and sometimes I'm not. When I am at home, I'm happy to provide you with directions and recommendations to local sites, but generally I prefer to respect your privacy while you're visiting. The NeighborhoodMy neighborhood is GREAT! It's nestled among hills, small lakes and streams, mature oaks and large river rocks. It's a beautiful place to take a walk, listen to the birds sing, and enjoy nature. AND- it is CONVENIENTLY LOCATED only FIVE minutes from downtown Columbia, I26, I20, and the Riverbanks Zoo! Getting AroundYou will definitely want a car, as public transportation is limited. Cabs and Uber are available, but I am not near a public bus line. Other Things to NotePlease note that my house is home to Addie (an old Newfoundland dog) and Mollie (a shelter rescue cat). However, during your stay, they will be secluded in the back part of my home away from both your private and common areas. You might see Addie in the yard if I have her out for a walk during your stay. They are both very friendly pets, but I generally prefer to keep them out of your way while you're visiting.
