While we are tolerant of everyone's belief systems, we are a secular, progressive family. You might find us laughing hysterically about Bill Maher's Real Time or notice religious-critical books on the shelf next to the the Bible, the Koran and Bhagavad gita We swear too, although we keep that at a minimum when we have guests. If you like swearing, by all means, let it out, Finn would love to expand his vocabulary!
Choose the level of interaction you'd prefer. There is plenty of outside space for you to explore and enjoy peace and quiet. The dogs and the cat go wherever they please, please shut the door if you don't want them in your room. The NeighborhoodWe chose this space because it is beautiful, peaceful and quiet yet still close to down town Greenville, close to grocery stores and highways. It is a safe space and the whole 5 acres are fenced with mesh wire fencing to keep the dogs in. At night you'll hear the birds, the crickets and the coyotes howl in the distance and lately we have an owl who hangs out next to the pool at night when we swim. Getting AroundWhile there are no buses nearby, if you need to get around, I'd be happy to help you out! We have plenty of parking space on the property if you need to park a trailer or camper. Other Things to NoteWe love animals and follow a plant based diet. During your stay. please keep our house meat free, thank you for being considerate! The dogs and cat live in our house and share the couch. The dogs are very sweet and friendly, The wolf dog and the cat are shy and sweet, please respect their wish to not be petted and they will find a way to love on you when you least expect it. If your dog is well socialized and healthy, he/she'll fit right in. Dogs who have emotional traumas might not fit in well. Would it be ok if you send us a message before you book to discuss?
We have no cable. We have a TV downstairs with Netflix.
We are a family of 3, with a 5 year old inquisitive little boy, 3 dogs, a cat, and 4 horses. While I work hard to keep our house and farm clean and organized, you might find the occasional cat, dog, wolf or horse hair on the stairs or on the couch and there might be a pile of horse manure laying around somewhere at some point in the yard. Please let us know if anything needs our attention and we'll see to it right away.
