The SpaceYou will experience the charm of the Old South at The Farmhouse Inn, located in
Memphs, TN….Home of the Blues, and the former home of Elvis Presley… Graceland
My home is in an older neighborhood of Memphis, on a residential, mid-city, semi-busy street, with ample parking and is within walking distance of a library, a bus stop, the Greenline biking/walking trail, varied restaurants, and a shopping center. It is about 8 miles from downtown Memphis.
All 5 spaces at the Farmhouse are private, all have wifi access. For more details, see the separate listing for each space.
The property includes:
THE GRACELAND COTTAGE- a separate building behind the main house, which provides complete privacy and includes a queen bed, full private bath, kitchenette, and wifi connection.
first floor rooms…..
THE WEST MEMPHIS
queen bed, shared bath.
THE SUN STUDIO
two twin/one full bed, and shared bath.
THE BLUES ROOM
A sunny space on the second floor, the Blues Room has two twins, a futon, and a deck in the treetops.
You will find the accommodations at The Farmhouse will fit just about anyone's needs and budget.
You will feel like you are in the country when you enjoy the back garden, the front porch or the upper deck. When I am able, I love to visit with guests, with coffee in the morning and/or a cocktail in the evening.
My house is located two blocks from a bus stop that goes straight to Downtown Memphis. Also, a library, a shopping center, a post office. and various restaurants are within walking distance Guest AccessThere is a full kitchen, washer/dryer, deck, and additional room in the Bluesroom Suite. Most guests don't cook, and I price it accordingly. If you want to cook, let me know, because there is an extra $5/day charge, and guests are expected to leave the kitchen as they found it.
The extra room is not listed, but can be added for a larger group in the warmer months. Interaction with GuestsInteractions depend on the guest, and/or my schedule, but if I am around, a chat on the porch is always a possibility. The NeighborhoodThe best way to find the farmhouse is to get on Summer Ave between Highland St and Graham, and turn north on Isabelle St. At the Sonic.
Go through the Faxon intersection, coming to Tutwiler next. Turn right, my house is the third house on the left.. a two story with prayer flags hanging from the porch. Drive straight towards the back fence to park.
Never block the drive or drive on grass, please.. :) Getting AroundI have plenty of off the street parking. I am two blocks from express bus. An old neighborhood, but my end is hanging in there, off the street by a long drive, and very quite as a rule. Other Things to NotePlease leave the inside front door open, do not push it closed as it is tricky to open even if it is unlocked
