The SpaceThis second story loft is separate from the main Victorian house. You will have your own entrance and all of the privacy you need! In addition to the Queen-size bed, located in the main room, a sleeping nook/lounge area is available for additional guests. This room has a twin bed top bunk with a full-sized futon couch underneath and a DVD TV (some movies are available in the loft) . A large bathroom, kitchenette (Keurig, microwave, toaster-oven, a small refrigerator/freezer, table and setting for five), flat-screen TV with Roku, a cozy eating space, and a sunny deck with a bistro table/chairs, round out this lovely place! For guests who might want to cook a few meals, we also have a full-sized refrigerator and sink in the room, on the right, at the foot of the loft stairs, a grill in the backyard, and an induction cooking system (and pots/pans/cooking basics like a spatula, can opener, cutting board, etc) in the loft for you to use. Guest AccessTwo adult Trek bikes are available for you if you would enjoy a leisurely toodle around town. In addition, Franklin has a Trolley that you can access to see the local sites. Interaction with GuestsWe would be more than happy to hang out on a daily basis or leave you to yourself/selves, we will follow your lead! If you would like to use the hot tub on our deck (closed during the summer), have a bonfire (a good place to have a guitar pull!) in our spacious and fenced-in backyard, or use the horseshoe pits or other yard games, just let us know! We do have dogs, so Please make sure to let us know if you want to use the backyard. They are nice dogs, but are not accustomed people they don't know coming in and out of their yard and we need to be present the first time you access that space. The NeighborhoodFranklin, voted the "best small southern town" in Guns and Gardens Magazine and described as a "small town gem" in the New York Times, is rich in history, seasonal festivals/music and Victorian charm! You will be within walking or biking distance, less than a mile, from Civil War museums and sites: The Carter House, The Lotz House, Carnton Plantation, and Fort Granger. You will be two blocks from downtown dinning, antique stores, music venues, and parks. I will have an overview and maps to local (writer's nights, Framer's market, historic sites, etc), nearby (Natchez Trace Parkway, Arrington Vineyards, etc) and Nashville destinations (Cheekwood Gardens, The Hermitage, etc) available to you. The YMCA and local Rec Center (with daily rates) are both close by if you would like access to exercise or swimming facilities. Getting AroundFree street-side parking and bikes are available, but because of our close proximity, you can easily enjoy Franklin by walking.
