Award winning gardens & 3yrs in a row "Best Scenic View From a B&B in the United States". Romantic Gracehill Bed and Breakfast is the highest home in the county w/a 360 degree view of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We have won over 30 awards, the majority for culinary. In the middle of a triangle formed by Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Townsend, we are only minutes from all three. Breakfast is a three-course candlelight elegant affair. We use different menus, china, crystal and flower arrangements everyday. We start off with choices of beverages, a pastry, a fresh fruit, and a wide variety of main courses. This can be served on the main veranda, the formal dining room, the morning room, or the back garden patio area next to a waterfall. A beautiful sunrise, an elegant breakfast, a day spent doing nothing or everything and the romance of watching the sun go down over the mountain ranges of the Great Smokies. An intimate setting in a place of grandeur. Black Tie Class with Blue Jean Comfort

The SpaceWe have a two bedroom (one enclosed and loft), two bath rustic log cabin for rent in Townsend, TN. Townsend is located at the west entrance of the Great Smoky Mt. National Park in TN. It is approximately 20 miles from Pigeon Forge and about 25 miles from Gatlinburg. Little River exits the Park and runs through Townsend and is known for fishing, biking and for tubing. There is a paved greenway the length of Townsend for walking or biking. Townsend also has several restaurants and some unique shops. In summer several vendors offer tube rentals and day long shuttle service to tubing launch spots and pick up points. . The cabin is located in a beautiful, gated community called Laurel Valley adjoining the National park. Laurel Valley has a public access golf course and club house with restaurant and gym. The cabin has an open living room and kitchen and loft with large windows overlooking the valley in front. It has internet /WIFI, TV served by antenna (no cable), a DVD/VCR, electric central air and heat, a wood burning fireplace, pool table, and foosball table. There is a bedroom with king-size bed and a full bath on this level also. The loft has two beds, (one full bed and one queen bed) and a bathroom. There is a pool table in the basement. The cabin has two large decks overlooking the surrounding trees and the valley in front and feels very secluded although there are other cabins nearby. Parking is limited to 2-3 cars with a steep curved driveway and there are three flights of stairs to get to the front door. This cabin is not a good choice if you are adverse to climbing stairs. But, after climbing the stairs to the top deck you gain a feeling of being in a tree house. I love to sit on the deck and be amongst the tops of the trees. There is a pet door to accommodate a small dog. The stairs can be blocked to keep a dog on the main level when people go off and want to leave the dog. Most National Park hiking trails do not allow dogs. The cabin is on well water which has iron and may cause a slight brown tint to the tub and sink. There is no issue for using the water other than washing white clothes. While I drink the well water, Pat likes to use store bought drinking water since she doesn’t like the iron taste. Guest AccessThe Great Smoky Mountains National Park is about a mile distant by crow flight or nine miles distant by car. It is voted the most popular National Park in the US. Acess is free, unlike the ~$20 entrance fee for most US National Parks. Interaction with GuestsAs this is our 2nd home and about a four hour drive from our main home in Huntsville, Alabama, we will probably not get to meet most guests in person. Close to the time of rental, we will provide the code to the key lock box next to the front door. There is also a combination deadbolt on the front door. The same combination code works on both locks. The front door is locked with either the key or entering the same code into the deadbolt. I am happy to answer whatever questions renters or potential renters may have about the cabin or area. Extensive current information relating to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is available on the National Park website. The NeighborhoodThe cabin is on a dead end road -- with three more cabins between Animal House and the dead end; meaning there is very little traffic. When the summer leaves are out, there are no other close-by cabins visible from the main deck. Getting AroundWe are about 20 miles from the Knoxville airport. There is taxi service in Townsend, if you want to arrange a shuttle for a one-way day hike in the Park. Bicycles are available for rent in Townsend and Cades Cove. If you want to experience the extreme congestion, shopping and carnival atmosphere of Pigeon Forge, Dollywood and Gatlinburg, we are a short 30- 40 minute drive away. Townsend has a medium sized grocery store (IGA) and a winery store. Strong spirits and other wines are available in Maryville about 15 miles to the West. Other Things to NoteThe names of the primary renter and other visiting driver's names will need to be provided to me -- so I can notify the Laurel Valley Gate Guard of who will be visiting the cabin and the duration of visit.

Located on the Little River, where it winds its way out of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, 'Evergreen on the River' is surrounded by mountain laurels, towering Hemlocks and other greenery and has a secluded feel, even though it is just a mile from Townsend. Ford a small stream in the horseshoe bend of the road as you find your way down to the cabin, and as soon as you get settled into this beautifully decorated cabin, you will want to visit the river. Just take the private staircase down to the bank of the clear, clean, cold Little River; where the rhythmic sounds of the rushing water cascading over rocks and boulders will captivate and relax you. During the day, you can roam around the woods or dip your toes in the river, or you may decide to drive up Wear's Valley to Pigeon Forge for some shows or shopping. If you prefer, take the 'river road' up to the Sugarlands Visitors Center and turn left for Gatlinburg or right to go to Newfound Gap and beyond. Evenings can be spent sitting on the deck or in front of the fire pit with your beverage of choice and perhaps enjoying a romantic interlude at your cozy, comfortable log cabin in the woods. Quoted rates are for two people. Extra people (up to four more) are $20.00 per person/ per night. Pets allowed with permission at a rate of $15.00 per pet/ per night. Weekly rates include a 10% discount, except on holidays and peak season of June, July, August and October. We prefer weekly bookings during peak times such as major holidays and the months of June, July, August and October. We can change this policy if the cabin is still available within two weeks of your booking ... just ask. Three night minimum otherwise. Two-night last minutes are ok. All rates are plus 14.75% sales and hotel/motel taxes. AND ... we absorb the cleaning/processing fees of $95.00 when you stay at least four nights!... best location in Townsend! Within walking distance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park boundary line and only seven miles to historic Cades Cove, ours is one of the closest cabins. Travel the 'river road' to Gatlinburg, Newfound Gap, Ober Gatlinburg or even Harrahs Cherokee Casino, if you're feeling froggy. Townsend, 'The Peaceful Side of the Smokies', has a great bike/walking trail that stretches nearly three miles long and it's lighted at night for your convenience. Hike, bike, spelunk, horseback ride, visit Heritage Museum and you simply must tube down the Little River on a hot summer day. OR ... just stay on the beautiful river bank and dangle your feet in the cool, clean water! Ahhhh!
