The SpaceThis cozy home on a quiet residential street is close to the action. TWO separate upstairs bedrooms separated by a study/TV room with desk and an exercise area containing an exercise bike, hand weights and a step aerobic area as well as a TV/DVD combo for working out with the available DVDs that are available. The downstairs "Victorian parlor" is available for you to relax in at the end of the day. You will have access to a small bathroom downstairs as well. In the morning, there will be free coffee, tea, juice and fruit in the small refrigerator in the office/TV room. The backyard from October through May is also very relaxing with a swing and fountain as you watch and listen to the mourning doves that are native to the "Katy Prairie". This quiet neighborhood was built in the 1970s in what was at the time a country area with only one grocery store for miles; but then, as the "energy corridor" pushed west, we became encircled and are now in the middle of the action. The "I10 "Energy Corridor" is right up the road--four short stop lights. The "Kingsland Park and Ride" ( a part of the Houston Metro system) is within walking distance on a nice day. Shopping is withing a few blocks. Four miles away on Cinco Ranch Boulevard is LaCentera Center with upscale shops like Ann Taylor, JosABanks, Chico's. Also near (5) miles are Katy Mills Mall, Penney's, Kohl's, SteinMart, and many specialty/boutique stores. We are within minutes from Cinemark Theater Katy and the AMC theater. Fine dining like Babin's, Perry's Steakhouse, Landry's as well as a cafeteria and at least two dozen fast-food establishments are with a short drive It is hard to believe my serene home is so close to all that activity. The SpaceYou will have a private room and bathroom in a safe neighborhood. Right next to our neighborhood is a park and you are within a short driving distance to EVERYTHING: food, mall, entertainment, 30-45 minute drive to Houston, 1-1 1/2 hour drive during those awful rush hour times. If you like to take the bus, there is a park and ride 10 minutes from our house. Wi-fi is included :) Being in Texas...A/C is included, if our place is too warm for you, just ask us to adjust the A/C. We can also accommodate you with a heater or fan for your room if you would like. Added to the bedroom is also a TV with a Roku that has access to Netflix and other free channels for your viewing pleasure. Also, there are animals in the (URL HIDDEN) cat and one dog. All are friendly and love anyone. Understand that my husband and I are working people...and our home contains a living, breathing family that gets busy and forgets to do things. If you ever need anything taken care of, please let us know! Communication is key for happiness. Guest AccessGuests have a private room and private bathroom. There is of course, clean sheets and towels included :) Wi-fi is also included. We have added a coffee maker, mini refrigerator, and TV with roku in the room as well. We are in a growing city so be aware that there may be construction, but in our part of Katy, it is still calm with very minimal traffic and it is extremely easy to get around. City area with small town feel. You can join the hustle and bustle if you like, or relax...either option is close by. Getting AroundWe are within 10 minutes of the park and ride bus transit. Once on there, it can take you downtown where you can jump on the metro if you like. There is no public transportation within Katy. Other Things to NoteWe have two cats and a dog. They are friendly, but if you are allergic this could be troublesome as the cats are indoor only and the dog is mostly indoor. Pets are allowed on our property. Please get approval from me first before you bring them.

House is located close to Houston since Richmond is a Suburb of it. Shopping centers and fitting club close by, hosts can do biking, walking, or prepare barbecue on the house big backyard. If coming to work, house is close to the Energy Corridor.

After our backpacking adventures and staying in hostels, B&B, hotels, homes and parks, we realized what we enjoyed the most was a homely atmosphere to come back to. Guest AccessGuests are more than welcome to use all amenities as long as it is taken care of properly. The private room available for rent has a shared guest bathroom. Other shared facilities include living room, family room, dining area, kitchen, game room, media room and backyard with grill. Media room is the only room which we would like the guest to use with our permission. Interaction with GuestsMy husband and I love to interact with guests but respect privacy also. We both are working and enjoy the quietness during evenings. We love to entertain at home but in a quiet manner. We have movie nights in our home theater every week and you are most welcome to join! The NeighborhoodLocated in a fairly new suburb, our neighborhood is very quiet and safe. Only thing you mostly hear is chirping of birds and kids playing! If you want to stay in a place that is peaceful but close to the main highway and good restaurants as well as supermarkets, this is the place to be! Getting AroundThere is Grand Parkway park and ride couple miles from our place. If you work in downtown Houston, this bus is awesome! We have an attached garage that we use but parking is available on or close to our driveway. For getting around, having a car in Houston/Katy is convenient. Other Things to NoteThe utilities covered include water, gas, electricity, internet, laundry (max. one load/week) and trash. We have two dogs right now we are taking care of. They are great dogs! We have our families visiting every few months.

West of Houston approx. 35 mins. from downtown.(traffic dependent) All very nice people in the neighborhood most all will wave to strangers so heads up and wave back. Getting AroundPark and ride shuttle located approx 15 mns away. Toll roads are also in close proximity that will take out in and around Houston.

The SpaceThis is a bedroom with a comfy queen sized bed and a large, walk-in closet. The bathroom is right next to the bedroom. For long-term stays, you are welcome to park in the garage. Guest AccessFeel free to roam downstairs. Guests have access to the living room, Apple TV, use the kitchen and fridge, and dining room. We have extremely fast WIFI. The jacuzzi, kept clean with H2O2, is always warm and ready for you to relax. We have a shaded patio with misters to keep cool with walls and roof of grapevines and view of our garden. Upstairs is off-limits. Interaction with GuestsWe enjoy some interaction with fellow travelers. However, we will also respect your space and privacy if that is preferred. The NeighborhoodWe are in a quiet neighborhood with great neighbors. There are many people out at night walking around the neighborhood. We're very close to both George Bush park and Terry Hershey park. We have fast access to I-10 and nearby grocery stores. Getting AroundYou will be happiest if you have a car. Houston is NOT known for its public transportation--however, there are a couple of bus routes that go to all parts of the city. There is also a light rail line downtown. Uber is also very active here and typically available in 5-10 minutes. If you're coming from IAH, be prepared to pay some tolls if you take Sam Houston Tollway (fastest route.) Other Things to NoteParking is available on the street in front of the house. Our garage is available for 31+ day guests. Our washer and dryer is available to you on request. We use fragrance Free and Clear detergents to prevent allergies and do not use any artificial chemicals to clean. We are extremely health conscious. Please message us any questions!

After our backpacking adventures and staying in hostels, B&B, hotels, homes and parks, we realized what we enjoyed the most was a homely atmosphere to come back to. A place which provides the warmth even when you are away from home. And this is what we want to provide our guests with - home away from home. Our private room fits two people comfortably. Guest AccessGuests are more than welcome to use all amenities as long as it is taken care of properly. The private room available for rent has a shared guest bathroom. Other shared facilities include living room, family room, dining area, kitchen, game room, media room and backyard with grill. Media room is the only room which we would like the guest to use with our permission. Interaction with GuestsMy husband and I love to interact with guests but respect privacy also. We both are working and enjoy the quietness during evenings. We love to entertain at home but in a quiet manner. We have movie nights in our home theater every week and you are most welcome to join! The NeighborhoodLocated in a fairly new suburb, our neighborhood is very quiet and safe. Only thing you mostly hear is chirping of birds and kids playing! If you want to stay in a place that is peaceful but close to the main highway and good restaurants as well as supermarkets, this is the place to be! Getting AroundThere is Grand Parkway park and ride couple miles from our place. If you work in downtown Houston, this bus is awesome! We have an attached garage that we use but parking is available on or close to our driveway. For getting around, having a car in Houston/Katy is convenient. Other Things to NoteThe utilities covered include water, gas, electricity, internet, laundry (max. one load/week) and trash. We have a dog we host few days a week. He is a great dog! We have our families visiting every few months.
