The city also has golfing facilities and parks, as well as wineries. Seasonally, Navasota is visited in the Spring for bluebonnets. Blues Bluebonnets & BBQ music festival is held in April, celebrating the birthday of Mance Lipscomb. A summer festival, the Navasota Bluesfest, every second weekend in August in the Blues Capital of Texas honors the memory of blues man Mance Lipscomb who recorded numerous albums and lived in Navasota all of his life. The celebration raises money for college scholarships for local students. A statue of Mance Lipscomb is now a part of Mance Lipscomb Park, near downtown. A statue of Frank Hamer stands in front of city hall, honoring the time he served as city marshal, connecting to the time Mance Lipscomb was his buggy driver. Local artist and sculptor Russell Cushman designed and built the bronze statue. In 2005, the Texas Legislature named the city "The Blues Capital of Texas," in honor of the late Mance Lipscomb, a Navasota native and blues musician. The nearby Texas Renaissance Festival is held near Plantersville in the fall. Also nearby is Washington on the Brazos state park and the George Bush Presidential Library. The SpaceClose to Texas A&M...owned by Aggies! Dad '62 and Son '89. Lots of space. Family gathering type orientation. You make it your home for the stay. We are here to help. Guest AccessBrenham is 45 minutes, Historic Washington-on-the-Brazos is 15 minutes, Navasota is 10 minutes, Kyle Field 15 minutes straight shot. We have about 25 acres to explore behind our house toward the back of the property and the barnyard area. Interaction with GuestsWe live right next door. We are a whistle away or if you prefer, you won't see us. This is our guest house that we want to share with you. The NeighborhoodCountry living. We are in our 50's. My parents live in the front pasture. My sister and her family live across the pasture. I still have three kids at the house (14-18). We enjoy living in this great part of Texas and hope you find a great peace here as our guest. Getting AroundWe live out in a rural area so there is no access to public transportation. Other Things to NoteWe have an older style large TV that gets many local channels as well as a large supply of family friendly movies on nostalgic VHS and some DVD's. Again, we have about 5 dogs between the 3 families who live here and no fences so they will be keeping you company on occasion. Let us know if it gets to be a bother!

The Space3 bedroom and 3 full bath ranch house on 700 acres, 15 minutes from College station. Each bedroom has a queen bed. The master has a sitting area and it's own bathroom. There is a full kitchen, a utility room with a washer and dryer, dining area, living room, and sun room. The living, sun room, and master all have mounted, flat screen TVs with DirectTv service. The NeighborhoodNeighborhood is very quiet and very private. Has community pool and picnic area. People are very nice and you will love the neighbors on our street. The SpaceThe Red Velvet Inn is located in a 130-year-old house that was built by the two-time mayor of Navasota and son of one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence. The home went a full restoration in 2012. Guest AccessGuests will also have access to two living rooms, a dining room, full kitchen, a porch and balcony both with rocking chairs and a fully fenced back yard with patio and seating. Interaction with GuestsAlthough I don't live on site, I try to meet all guests at check-in, if it is before 6 pm. Self-check-in is available after that time. There is also a property manager that is on-site for a period of time every day. She and I are both available by phone 24 hours a day. Getting AroundDowntown Navasota is within walking distance, however a car is strongly recommended as there is no public transportation in the area. Other Things to NoteA percentage of every reservation is donated to dog rescues, including Texas Husky Rescue, Texas Sled Dog Rescue, and Long Way Home Pit Bull Rescue.

Master bedroom has private bathroom with oversized walk-in shower with rain-head and wall-mount shower heads. Kitchen is equipped with double oven, microwave, gas stovetop and pot filler. Large granite island with room to sit and stand around it without interfering with the cook. Wine and bar area off the kitchen with extra refrigerator in the utility room. Washer and dyer is available. Back porch is covered and large with sitting room for many. Outdoor fireplace with TV. Outdoor kitchen has 42" gas grill with separate double gas burners for additional cooking. Outdoor granite counter tops with barstools for entertainment. Standing bar as well with plenty of room to cook and serve food and beverages. Fire pit off the back porch with wood ready to burn. Sit on the porch and watch the birds and squirrels in the trees and bushes or go to the large open back area to stretch out and have some fun. Driveway is capable of fitting 7-10 vehicles. Private room with a queen bed topped with a memory foam mattress, a private bath with double sinks, and for an additional charge, extra room for 2 more people on a sleeper sofa. No children under 5. This is a gated community, so I will give you a code for guests to open the gates. The road to the cottage is caliche and gravel, and the cottage is less than 1/2 mile from FM 2154/Wellborn Road. Take the first left, and #4110 is the second driveway on your right. You can see the bay window from the driveway. This is a pet friendly space, I have 3 dogs and a cat. The back yard is fenced and there are many miles of trails for walks. Guest AccessYou are welcome to use the kitchen, hang out on the back deck, and use the hike/bike trails on the property.
