The SpaceThe setting is very tranquil with a balance of green fields and trees all around creating total privacy. It is out of the hustle and bustle. Very quiet and private yet easy access to town, the University and the river. Nice covered table and chairs outside your door. BBQ charcoal and gas grill and utensils provided. Queen Mattress bed is deluxe with memory foam on top, Full size hide-a-bed with fairly thick mattress cover. Fridge is stocked with breakfast foods, so sleep in as long as you like and prepare in the full service kitchen. Roomy shower and toilet space and central air and heat. There is a nice, shaded dog kennel near the RV for guest to use for their dogs; it is 5'x10' and very secure. Guest AccessThe RV and front 3 acres are yours to roam. Plenty of parking. build a campfire if desired (Be sure to check with us in case there is a burn ban and we are not allowed to have open fires). BBQ with charcoal or gas grills supplied. There is Wifi at the Nest, depending on your provider whether the service is functioning as some carriers do not get a signal out here. Interaction with GuestsWe like to interact when we aren't busy working. Someone is generally home all the time. We would enjoy a chat at your gazebo if you want the company, otherwise, we will leave you to your own space. The deer roam freely through the wooded acreage; you'll likely see them a couple times a day. The NeighborhoodA college town with a population of 50,000. Very popular huge outlet malls are here. Three rivers to play in nearby. We are in a nice, upscale neighborhood with 6 acre forested lots. Rabbits and hummingbirds and deer are in abundance. Getting AroundAbout 7 miles into San Marcos: HEB, Walmart, Movie theatres, bookstores, lots of restaurants, etc. 30 minutes from Austin Airport and 45 minutes from San Antonio airport. Other Things to NoteWimberley is 25 minutes west, New Braunfels (Schlitterbaun, Guadalupe) is 25 minutes south and Austin is just 25 minutes north on I-35. Look for my special pricing on weekdays. Pets must be pre-approved by host, and a fee of about $5/day is charged for extra cleaning required. Be sure to disclose your desire to bring your furry friends.

The Space"Turkey Grove on McCarty Lane" can comfortably accommodate 2 people in one of two bedrooms, the more expensive (@ $225) master suite has a king size bed, large projection TV screen, huge walk in closet-with washer dryer, a private entrance, and a beautiful master bath with walk-in shower (as well as a private outdoor shower), twin sinks and heated floors. Inquire separately for this space. The guest room listed here, (@ $xxx) features an A queen size bed and smaller closet, Dish TV with movies and Sirius radio, BluRay DVD, and a attached private bath with deep soaking tub / shower. Both beds are on the firm side, lots of pillows, with very comfortable sleeping, under the ceiling fans. The house is recently remodeled has many state of the art features; and of course, here in Texas, central air & heat (you'll never hear it run) is a must to stay comfortable. Satellite TV (DISH net) with big screen 46" TV, surround sound systems, WIFI (200 mbps), kitchen and cooking privileges, LIGHTED outdoor living areas with music, two sun-tanning chaise Lounges, several seating areas with different views, giant 8' round glass outdoor table for work, dining, enjoyment. Hammock available, but ask for me to set it up if interested. Shady parking. Interaction with GuestsI will be occupying the property (one of the two bedrooms) and greeting my guests; I am friendly and helpful but respect your privacy. My only goal is to make your stay here enjoyable and memorable, and perhaps, make new friends. Just let me know how best to interact with you for a perfect stay. You will have privacy with private bedroom & bath with free access to huge porches all around the house, to use at your pleasure. There is no 'private' entrance to this guest room, it enters through the main house, one of two ways. Have a student at the University? Reach the campus in about 10 minutes or less. Off to shop? Tanger & Prime are 5 minutes away. South by Southwest in Austin is 40-50 minutes north; San Antonio is also 40-50 minutes south. Wimberley is 30 minutes away, west. Canyon Lake is 30 minutes away. New Braunfels 20 minutes. The NeighborhoodYou are close to downtown San Marcos & the beautiful San Marcos River (10 minute), which has a wonderful 71-73 degree water temperature year round. Its waters are crystal clear and invite swimming, inner tubing, or kayaking for a most enjoyable day of fun and relaxation.. Yet, at home, you are in a beautiful countryside environment, away from hustle and bustle of traffic and noisy city sounds. You will have 10 acres to explore on this beautiful Turkey Grove Estate. Cows and horses (not mine) and even a rodeo arena are just next door and across the street. Wild turkey come around at times. Access to the University of Texas at San Marcos (SWT) is very easy from this location and would take about 10 to 15 minutes to drive, or you could bike in about 20 to 25 minutes. There is easy access to the Austin & San Antonio freeway; each city is about 30 to 40 minutes away. Sightseeing the Texas Hill Country is very easy from this central location, halfway between Austin and San Antonio. This could well be, the peaceful Shangri-La, that you will love to find. Getting AroundTaxi cabs from San Marcos are available, as is a bus ride which is a 20 minute walk from Turkey Grove on McCarty. Car & bike rentals are also available nearby. San Marcos also has an executive airport with private & commercial flights. I can arrange transportation as needed. Other Things to NoteHD television is provided in each bedroom. DISH Network satellite TV, HBO and Netflix . The master bedroom suite will be more expensive and much larger (with private bath) than the single 'GUEST' bedroom with attached private bath. You may choose either option, with appropriate pricing for each. there is a short hallway from the guest room to the guest bath. If you prefer, i can use the master private entrance and leave the house to yourself for the most part. Please write for details to inquire on this non-smoking property. The SpaceLa Casa de Paz features a 2 bedroom unit bedroom with a queen sized bed, single bed and one bathroom. Has window units for heat and AC and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Small fenced yard in front....perfect for your morning cup of "joe" or evening glass of wine. An easy stroll to campus or downtown. There is the ability to "couch surf" a 4rth person on my full length "Italian leather couch" and have extra pillows, blankets and linens. Full Wifi with dedicated router and cable TV. Guest AccessUpstairs has the "Treehouse" which is listed as well as a one bedroom for 2 people. Both properties could combine for 2 couples seeking privacy and space! The "Treehouse" and "La casa" are both private with no shared spaces. Interaction with GuestsMinimal. Will have a key pad for easy in/out access. The NeighborhoodMinutes from Texas State University. 30 minutes to the north is Austin and 50 miles to south is San Antonio. Quiet street with lots of shade trees. This property would be grand for a visiting parent, professor or travel professional in need of fully furnished, full cable and high speed internet ready home. Getting AroundWithin San Marcos you would be OK on foot. No car required for downtown or university exploration. While your exploring on foot one of my favorite walks is to the river and then to one of the many food and beverage venues enroute back to Mary St. A wonderful walk about! During warmer days the river is fabulous place to tube and frolic! Wimberly, Gruene and Blanco...all amazing small and interesting towns for day trips as well Lockhart for "world famous Bar B Que"! Other Things to NotePlease note if this property is not available I've "Prospect Park Place", a beautiful house located west of this property which backs up to a green space with miles of hiking trails. It's a 2/2 house with ca/ch, pet friendly with fenced back yard.

    The SpaceThe "TreeHaus" is a beautifully remodeled 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo located in the San Marcos Historic District. It was designed around the principles of Feng Shui, giving the space a warm and welcoming energy. Guests will appreciate the absolutely fantastic loaction, as well as the book of area attractions and information I have assembled. This truly is a great place in San Marcos that enables you to take advantage of everything the area has to offer, or just relax on the balcony if thats what you prefer. Guest AccessGuests are free to park in the complex's parking lot, there is one spot reserved for our unit, #205. The condo is accessible via the back staircase or the front. The only area that is off limits is the loft in the master bedroom, as we will be using it for personal storage. Interaction with GuestsYou will have total privacy, I will not be on the property. If you need to contact me for any reason during your stay, I will be reachable at my cell phone and email address, which are provided in the information book at the house. The NeighborhoodThe Treehaus is very conveniently located under 1 mile from the stunning San Marcos River, and Texas State University. It is blocks away from the heart of the city (The Square), where local eateries, bars, music venues, shops, and the LBJ museum are located. If you enjoy hiking, Purgatory Creek is a wonderful preserve 1.5 miles away where you can see some true central Texas scenery. Getting AroundMost, if not all, things are within walking distance, however driving in town is simple. Aloha Taxi is a local cab company that provides service around town. Other Things to NoteWe have 5 tubes to float the river, however some may be worn out or punctured due to other guest's usage.

Upstairs is a 400 square foot treetop apt with shower, toilet, small kitchen, tall deck overlooking a private forest, and a new 4G Ultra high definition TV & DVD/Blueray player. No additional cleaning fee! Guest Access6 heavily wooded acres, claw foot tub, shower, washing machine, Private 6 foot metal stock tank used as my summer soaking pool. Small outdoor fire pit and a separate Bar-B-Q grill. Star gazing anyone? 7 miles from San Marcos river & Court House square. Interaction with GuestsI'll introduce you to my home, and this mandatory "tour" may take 30 minutes. (Sorry if you arrive tired, but this is my home and I need you to know what's what.) I'll show you all the 3 way light switches, the 3 different remote controls, the Nuwave Elec induction hot plates, the shower exhaust fan, soak tank, the new vs old water controls on the tub, wood burner, etc, and then I interact only if needed and I don't go near the Barn. The Neighborhood`The wildlife, and the fact I'm on a paved, dead end road, 7 miles from San Marcos, the San Marcos river and Texas State University. About 35 miles south of Austin, and 22 miles north of Gruene Hall (New Braunfels). There is a new 844 acre Spring Creek Preserve, on Lime Kiln road about 5 miles before you get to my place. Getting AroundYour car. (Aloha Taxi is @ (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN); Americo Express Taxi is @ (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) Other Things to NoteWhen I have guests, I sometimes stay in my Airstream, back in the trees, way out of sight. Poor cell phone reception inside the metal building...go outside.

    The SpaceEnjoy the natural setting in this very spacious rental, with all of the comforts of home. The master bedroom has a private full bath and an exterior door. First auxiliary bedroom has a private 1/2 bath; second bedroom is served by a large hall bath. Outside, there is a cool water spa in it's own oasis, that has the feel of a hill country spring right off the back porch. Relax on the covered porch and enjoy the large yard for outdoor activities, barbecue grill and croquet. Spread out in the expansive living room and enjoy the smart TV with wii, dvd and a selection of movies. Fireplace and large game table with a selection of games and puzzles. This home is furnished to comfortably fit seven people in bedrooms, but we do charge fifteen dollars per person, per night, after four. This rental is spacious but we do not rent for parties or events. We do allow dogs that are totally housebroken, with a limit of 2, and a flat $25 fee. The fenced spa area has open gardens, so dogs are not allowed in this space, but there is a dog pen thru a door off the master. Guest AccessGuests have full access to kitchen and in house laundry facilities. The entire first story of the house is private to the guests during stay. A secured second story one room loft, as well as under stairs, is owner's storage and off limits to guests. The 'cool spa' is for private use to the guests but is cleaned and maintained by the owners most mornings. It is running from the last week in March to the last week in October. The various gardens on the property are also maintained by owners on a regular basis. Interaction with GuestsWe try to greet you on your arrival to make your stay more comfortable and answer any questions. We prefer guests that have a completed profile and a bit of information about your visit and any other guests that will be with you. Hosts are usually gone but when occasionally on site are in a separate residence on the property and will provide pool and garden maintenance when needed. The NeighborhoodThe Hilliard Road Guest House is located 4.2 miles north of San Marcos in a rural area. Bobcat Stadium is a distance of 4.5 miles with the San Marcos River & Texas State University a short distance beyond. Other Things to NoteWe provide bins for recycling and ask that you please use them. If you have any special needs, allergies, etc. please inform us prior to your visit so that we can do our best to accommodate

    STADT PLATZ: Stadt Haus & Spiel Haus plus Bunk are located on the same lot, together they sleep up to 18 adults or 20 with kids. You may rent them seperately or togehter ! These cottages are located behind the historic Main Plaza, Walk 1-3 blocks to the Comal River, toobing outfitters, Schiltterbahn Waterpark, restaurants, evening entretainament, live music, shopping, theater, Wurstfest ! Stadt Haus is a charming 2/1 vintage house, sleeps 8, built by German settlers circa 1890s, with a classic white picket fence, cozy front porch, unique decor. The bathroom has an antique claw bath tub / shower and a huge stained-glass window. The master bedroom has a king bed, 2nd bedroom has a 2 queens, plus a futon in the living room. It has front & back porches, patio with BBQ & outdoor furniture. Spiel Haus is located behind Stadt Haus, it is a lovely 2/1 cottage, sleeps 6, constructed from vintage materials in the falkwerk style and the decor is very unique. Spiel has queens in each bedroom, plus a fold-out queen in the livingroom. The bathroom has a step-in shower. Spiel comes with a small, but complete kitchen and full size washer/dryer. There is also a seperate patio area with BBQ & outdoor furniture. The Bunk Haus is located about 20 ft. out the front door of Spiel Haus and will sleep 4 adults or 6 kidos with 2 bunkbeds that are doubles on bottom and twins on top. Bunk must be rented with either Stadt or Spiel houses because it does not have a bathroom. STADT PLATZ IS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF THE NEW BRAUNFELS HISTORIC DISTRICT AT 178 COMAL AVE. GUESTS CAN ENJOY THE CONVIENCE OF WALKING TO MOST ATTRACITONS IN NEW BRAUNFELS, TO INCLUDE RESTAURANTS, SHOPS, COMAL RIVER, SCHLITTERBAHN, WURSFEST.

    Ollie's Country Cottage is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country on the Jonas Ranch. Only minutes away from the largest waterpark in New Braunfels-Schlitterbahn, to strolling down the streets in Wimberley, shopping the San Marcos Outlet Mall, boating Canyon Lake, tubing the famous Guadalupe River, to dancing the night away at the oldest dance hall in Gruene. This little hidden piece of gem is great for a family or a romantic get away all year round! Two clean small cozy bedrooms; one queen size bed and the 2nd bedroom a full size bottom bed, twin on top bunk. The cottage provides a small kitchenette, living and dining area, shower bath and has plenty of outside space for grilling, parking and for Fido and kids to run around in! A unique inside/outside doggie suite is connected to the sunroom inside the cottage, making it ideal for your pet(s) to meander in and out all day long if you choose to leave your pet(s) at the cottage while you and the family dine out. This property is sure to make any guest's vacation enjoyable! Ollie's Country Cottage is nestled off of Purgatory Road on the Jonas Ranch. We are conveniently located 10 minutes to Wimberley, 15 minutes to Guadalupe River/Canyon Lake, and just 15 minutes to San Marcos and Gruene. The cottage is perfect for small families and their friendly pets or just a romantic get away! Quiet, relaxation and plenty of room for Fido and the kids! The Jonas Ranch was purchased in the early 1940's and still holds natural wildlife and many breeds of sheep. Spring fed water runs through Purgatory Creek on the ranch and part of the ranch includes the Devils Backbone with breathtaking views from at top. If you travel down FM 32-West- towards Fischer/Canyon Lake there is a picnic area you can view from at top.

If you have any special requests please let me know well ahead of time so we can work things out. The NeighborhoodIn a quiet neighborhood on a non-thoroughfare street, nestled up in the hill country. The entire city is mostly walk-able and bike friendly. San Marcos has a beautiful crystal-clear river and many parks that offer glass-bottom boat tours, fishing, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, snorkeling, diving (with special permission), walking, bbqing, a huge kids playground, and many other activities. Getting AroundVery close to a TxSt bus route, or a 15min walk to campus. Coffee houses, thai, chinese, sushi, mexican, american, pizza restaurants, Walgreens, gelato place, bars, kolaches, tanning salon, tattoo parlor... all within a 2 minute drive. Middleton Brewing and Brewsters is just down the road. San Marcos Outlet/Tanger Outlets are about 10 minutes away because you have to go through town. Downtown is 5 minutes away, or a 20 min walk. Other Things to NoteAllergies: We have chickens in the back yard, small short haired lap loving dog in the house and cats free-roam the yard, but never your bedroom. There is NO cable or TV but there is a DVD/ streaming Internet to a 20" monitor in the bedroom upon request. If you have an infant/toddler/small child this is a great place as I have a crib and lots of toys geared towards age 2-4.

    The SpaceMAGICAL. Many guests use this word to describe our home. It's 102 years old -a bit creaky and a lot charming, full of art, teapots, and well-loved books. We assure you'll feel warm, positive energy as soon as you walk through the door. Your private suite is clean, inviting, and we provide fresh towels & linens, alkaline drinking water, as well as coffee & tea for your stay. The upstairs bathroom and kitchen are for your EXCLUSIVE use so please bring groceries and toiletries for your stay. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the downstairs living room, library, and dining area. Please ask us if need to use the laundry facilities. We're a professional artist & writer, working hard to ensure our house supports creativity. The upstairs kitchen is a wonderful, quiet place to work and write, and there's an onsite artist's studio if you feel so inclined. Interaction with GuestsWe're family friendly, having kids of our own. By kids, I don't mean screaming babies, so no worries about noise. :) We also have a small dog, 2 rescued cats, and 4 happy chickens supplying fresh eggs. The upstairs flat provides ample solitude, but we're just downstairs if you want company. We're easy! The NeighborhoodLOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! Our home is centrally located on an eclectic street in San Marcos's Historic District, with easy access to campus, downtown, and surrounding cities. We are the PERFECT spot for families visiting students at Texas State. WALKING: 10-15 min. to Texas State campus, downtown square, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and H-E-B (full-size grocery store). DRIVING: Hiking Trails: 5 min. River: 5 min. Outlet Mall: 10 min. New Braunfels, Wimberley, & Gruene: 20 min. Austin: 30 min. San Antonio: 40 min. Our location cannot be beat. Getting AroundGuests are welcome to park in the driveway. San Marcos also has car rentals, taxi services, and public transport. We'll help you get wherever you're going! Other Things to NoteYour suite features a vintage clawfoot tub and hand-held shower nozzle to use whilst bathing. It is not a traditional stand up shower. 2 GUEST MAXIMUM. Infants/Babies are the exception as they can sleep in portable cribs, and they are more than welcome. Guests with mobility issues may have trouble accessing this upstairs apartment.

    The SpaceModern one bedroom house with loft in bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen, dining room, stained concrete floors located 1 mile from the San Macros River. The house is equipped with a Beautyrest hybrid black luxury medium firm pillow top King bed. I am a chef and the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, cooking equipment and wine glasses. There is a coffee maker, coffee bean grinder. This is a very cute house very close to the San Marcos River, historic downtown San Marcos. It's 1000 ft.² has a full sized washer and dryer, a fully equipped chef kitchen, spacious living room which has a Hi-def 52 inch flatscreen TV with excellent sound and Roku for streaming Movies and TV. High speed wireless Internet. There is also a large flatscreen in the bedroom with a Roku. Both Roku's have HBO GO and Showtime. Guest AccessFull access to house except for one private room and one private closet that are locked up and unavailable for use. I actually live here, so I will be staying with my boyfriend right across the highway while you are here. Interaction with GuestsI respect my guests privacy so interaction will be very limited to none unless they require my assistance. Can be reached by phone, text and email. The NeighborhoodHouse is new construction in an older transitional neighborhood undergoing transformation. Getting AroundTexas State, the San Marcos River, Downtown and the Outlet Malls are minutes away! This community is on the Texas State bus line. No need to worry about event parking! Just hop on the bus. We also still have UBER is San Marcos! Other Things to NoteBreakfast is available to each guest and will include items such as cinnamon rolls, pastry, bagels, etc. and coffee.

Getting AroundYou could hike or bike to downtown but recommend having a car as there are so many sites to see around central Texas. Other Things to NoteI've a tenant that lives in the rear apartment, completely unconnected to the house and ask you respect their privacy and do not walk around the carport area, only backyard and house.

      The SpaceGuests have one side of the house for themselves, so they can have their privacy. We have two private rooms, both of which have comfortable queen sized beds. The rooms both have ceiling fans, and blinds and curtains on the windows. Guest room 1 is a little bigger and has a view of the backyard. Guest room 2 is a little quieter, is right next to the bathroom, and has a bunch of books and a view of the front yard. Our rate is for one room. If you'd like to stay in both rooms we offer a different rate. The bathroom includes the necessities - towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. Guests can enjoy lounging under the giant oak trees in our quiet, relaxing yard, or a short walk along our charming nature trail. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the guest room and private bath, and the main rooms of the house - living, dining, kitchen, and laundry. Guests should feel welcome to eat snacks in the pantry and use the appliances. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to chat with guests and tell them about local restaurants, activities, etc. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is quiet, but is really close to all the action at Texas State University, the San Marcos river, and in downtown San Marcos. It's easy to explore Central Texas from here - Austin is about 30 minutes away and San Antonio is about 40 minutes away. New Braunfels, Wimberly, and Lockhart are all about 15 minutes away. Getting AroundGuests can walk to campus or downtown from our house (both are about 1 mile away). If you're worried about getting around, please check with us about proximity to specific locations around the Texas State campus or San Marcos before booking. Guests can also uber around town. Other Things to NoteBoth rooms comfortably sleep 2 in the queen beds. We are happy to accommodate well-behaved dogs!

      The SpaceThe "Tree House" is an upstairs apartment, located above the "The La Casa de Paz", which is located on a tree lined street, walking distance to downtown San Marcos and Texas State. The entrance to the property is at the back of the house where you can enjoy meals, coffee or a glass of wine on the outside deck which is nestled in a "bamboo forest". The bedroom features a queen size bed and you may awaken to see birds, opossum or a curious cat outside your windows on the many oak tree branches that surround the apartment. The kitchen has everything you need to stay a day or a month! Full tub/shower. Note there is not a washer or dryer but a laundry very close as well as a grocery store. There is a WiFi signal from my apartment below so I do not have a dedicated router for this apartment nor cable TV. TV has Netflix/amazon type access. If full cable TV and a dedicated router are things you must have than please consider booking "La Casa", my downstairs apartment. Guest AccessYou will have access to the entire upstairs and back yard of the house. Please respect the privacy of those staying downstairs by keeping noise levels down and pets secured.       The SpaceYour rental is a one bedroom, 1 queen bed, 1 closet area available for two (2) persons. A full-size bathroom with two sinks is in-between the two rental bedrooms. If this is bedroom is showing booked, just go to the original listing to check more availability. When you enter the home this room (2 of 2 being rented) is on the left hand side all the way down the hallway, it is closest to the rear door. Guest AccessWhile you are renting this room, I want you to feel at home. Therefore, you will have access to the kitchen, one full bathroom, one half-bathroom, an upstairs living room (privacy is dependent on other renters and homeowner, but always available to share), the laundry room with a built in ironing board, and front and backyard. The pool is maintained year around so feel free to use it anytime. Crossfit weights are also available upon request. The office is also available. PLEASE READ: The two bedrooms for rent are setup for 24/7 access. This means that for your convenience you will be able to easily come and go as you please. I am extremely lenient on the check in/out times. You will be able to see this information once you are booked, so Please!! Read the House Manual thoroughly. My Mother Stella is available to assist if absolutely necessary. This is not her job however but she is local and does like to assist. What all this means is you will know exactly how to get into the home once you are booked. It is setup for easy access for all renters. I allow the 24/7 access so you can relax and take your time checking in and out and so no one is held up waiting. Interaction with GuestsThis is the homeowners actual residence and the homeowners mother or other relatives will be assisting with renters needs. There is currently one other room available for rent on Airbnb. Simple communication between guests is all that is asked so everyone can have as much privacy as desired. The NeighborhoodThe Estates of San Marcos is a non-homeowners association neighborhood. There are many deer and other wildlife so adhering to the speed limit is necessary. There are many families that vary in age and the residents often walk, run, or ride bikes. Getting AroundIH-35 is only 3.1 miles down McCarty Lane. Hunter Rd is the only other major road that intersects with McCarty Lane and it can be used as a back way to the outlets (3.5 miles away), or San Marcos proper which includes Texas State University both between 6 to 6.5 miles away. Other Things to NoteThis property is protected with a home security system (alarm/video setup for response by HCSO and SMPD). The system will be turned on/off remotely by the homeowner. The exits all have automatic sensors so when someone enters and exits there is a non-annoying double beep. If you did not make it to a grocery store, the homeowners mother will cook homemade meals for you upon her availability. She does not live on the property. This is actually very easy to setup by contacting her. See the Guestbook for her information and prices.       The SpaceOne bedroom available for the summer of 2013 mid May-beginning of August in an amazing Colorado style house. It is 4BR, 4.5 bath-- you would have your own private bedroom with a private bathroom and HUGE walk in closet... did I mention your private balcony? It comes furnished which includes the dresser, desk, beside table, and full sized bed. I am asking $1200 for the FULL SUMMER (not per month!) This is a student neighborhood with many amenities (2 pools, work out center, tanning beds) and a safe place to live. I am looking for a female tenant in her 20's to take over. San Marcos is such a quaint town with so much to offer! The river is super close where you can float, the outlet malls are a 5 min drive, and the bar scene called "The Square" is sure to please with a great atmosphere and cheap drinks.

      The SpaceThe set up of the apartment makes for a fairly small, cozy space. It's been decorated/arranged toward my own taste, being my place of residence, and as a result may not appeal to everyone (please check pics before booking!). Probably not the best for families looking for a luxury getaway, but ideal for a few friends needing a place to sleep and relax while visiting the town. As one visitor aptly put it "A place for college and young adults, all the necessities with not much glamour". Guest AccessAll areas except for (hopefully) obviously private areas, such as the locked closet and bathroom drawers, are available for guest use. Interaction with GuestsWill usually be away when space is available for rent, but neighbors are often around and willing to help. The NeighborhoodThe apartment is incredibly close to the university, HEB, and The Square (downtown San Marcos) which is especially great for going out for food and drinks at night and stumbling home. The river is within a couple minute drive or a pleasant walk away, and the main highway (I-35) is only about 5 min away. Other Things to NoteThere's some construction that started recently in the lot next door that seems to start somewhat early on weekdays (8-ish AM?) but doesn't seem to be terribly loud.

      The SpaceThe house is old and quaint. With wind chimes in the front and back of the house, there is always music in the air. I don't watch television, but cable is available, if you like. Also, there is Internet access. This is an excellent space for someone who is looking to retreat from the daily grind while sharing time with a thoughtful and considerate host. Check out the pictures! Guest AccessThere are three entry doors to the house. The guest room has three doors: one to the kitchen, one to the bathroom, and one to the backyard garden. Interaction with GuestsMy hope is to share my space with someone. If you prefer limited contact, I will respect your privacy. If you would like to spend time talking and sharing experiences (or playing a game of Scrabble or backgammon), I'm open to that as well. I work during the day and will only be around evenings and weekends. There is a cat, BiBe, who is gentle, friendly, brushed daily, and declawed. The NeighborhoodThis is an older neighborhood where me and my neighbors look out for one another. No screaming kids around! I am about 5 minutes from the Amtrak station so there is the sound of the train in the far distance - very soothing - no loud horns. Getting AroundYou can drive or walk to downtown San Marcos or Texas State University in a matter of minutes. There is a park about 3 blocks away. Other Things to NoteThere is a dedicated parking space available so that you can come and go as you please. The house is within walking distance of downtown San Marcos and only 5 minutes away from the university. This is a quiet neighborhood.
