The SpaceEnjoy this serene, exquisite, private one bedroom Casita in the heart of Westlake just 10 minutes from downtown. The Casita is a small studio set off the homeowners private house. The homeowner originally created the Casita as a quite, meditative writing space. There is a wall of windows that face the woods and invite lots of natural light. The Casita is one room which is apx. 20' x 30' and has a beautiful full sized bed which is topped with a memory foam/down mattress topper. Off the main room is a private deck that overlooks the pool/spa and has a quite sitting area. You are welcome to share the pool with the homeowner. Heating the pool may be arranged for a fee but the homeowner generally does not heat the pool in winter. There is no fee for heating the spa. The property is located on several private wooded lots which give you the feeling you are out in the woods even though you are very close to town. There are even several well-manicured trails in the woods where you are welcome to walk and a dry creek bed that threads through the property. The Casita does not have a kitchen, but only the following: a toaster oven, microwave, coffeemaker, tea kettle, Britta filter pitcher, plates, bowls and settings for 4, and small dorm sized refrigerator. Also, there is no phone or TV, as the Casita is more of a retreat space. What you lack in technology, nature more than makes up for. There is however wifi! It is a great space for 1 or 2 people to make their headquarters during large events in Austin. There are two twin inflatable air mattresses (the double thick kind) that may be used and we will take up to 4 people. Over 2 people there is a $20 per person charge per night. My name is Rana and I manage the property for Gretchen the homeowner and would be happy to answer any of your questions. This property is not suited for handicapped or people that may have trouble negotiating the steep and rocky terrain. ***Reviews for the "House on the Creek" are relevant to the Casita as far as location and the woods/trails. The "House on the Creek" property is right next door and has now been rented long term. But please read them to get a feel for the property and the host.

The SpaceThis comfortable retreat in the hills just west of downtown Austin is the ideal location for a family or a group of friends to explore all that Central Texas has to offer: downtown Austin, the hill country, shopping, outdoor recreation, fine restaurants, as well as special events such as UT Football games, Formula 1, Austin City Limits, SXSW and countless others. Our home is extremely private on a dead-end street off a dead-end street in the Westlake Highlands area of Central Austin. No through traffic means quiet nights with only the sound of night birds and the rustle of the trees. Even though it feels like you are in the country, you are a short 10 minute drive through beautiful hilly quiet roads to downtown Austin, 15 minutes to UT, 30 minutes to F1, 10 minutes to ACL & SXSW venues and less than 5 minutes to dining & shopping. The house is 3400 square feet on a wooded half acre. It can sleep up to 8 people in beds and a foldout couch and 14+ utilizing our brand-new blow-up mattresses. It has 4 bedrooms plus 2 offices that can be converted in to sleeping areas. The main floor features the master bedroom with a California King TemperPedic bed, a private bath and access to the outdoor deck. The room is large enough to accommodate a queen size air mattress. Also on the main floor are two offices that can be converted into sleeping areas. The main floor also features a great room, a large kitchen with a bar that seats 6 and that opens up to the family room, a dining area that seats 8, a half-bath, and a laundry room with supplies. The outdoor deck wraps around the main floor and has an outdoor dining area that seats 8 and a comfortable outdoor living area that seats 8+. The second floor features a bedroom with a full size bed and a playroom with a fold out couch with a queen mattress that share a bathroom. The playroom can also accommodate a twin air mattress if needed. Another bedroom with a queen size bed and in-suite bathroom complete the upstairs retreat. Other features include Cable TV, wireless internet, kids toys, board games, 3 car garage with a ping pong table and dart board and a basketball hoop. You will have full access to the house and 3 car garage. We will leave plenty of coffee and provide breakfast food and condiments. Help yourself to any food. You will find plenty of towels and toiletries in the bathrooms. You can interact with us as little or as much as you like. We will be available via cell, text and email. We will also have a handyman on call should something need immediate attention. Stays longer than 4 days will have the option of maid service. We have two spots in our garage for your vehicles and ample room in the driveway for more cars. Uber is a great way for you to easily get around town. It typically takes an Uber driver 8 minutes or less to drive to our house. Upon booking, we'll email you a guide to our home. Guest AccessYou will have full access to the house and 3 car garage. The NeighborhoodHidden gem but still close to the action of downtown Austins clubs and music. Getting AroundWe recommend Sedans, Inc. if a car is needed. Ask for Sheldon, owner. He has a fleet of cars/vans/limo buses. Other Things to Note2 swans will swing by several times a day (Lucy and Ricky) looking for a handout. We keep food for them, the numerous ducks, turtles and fish that gather right behind our boat.

In the heart of Westwood (Between Westlake Hills/Rollingwood), this home is less than 3 min from Zilker Park, 8 min to Whole Foods by car , or a quick bike ride through neighborhoods and the Hike and Bike trail to town. A bus stop is within walking distance. Very close to Barton Creek mall if you left something at home, easy access to airport. Our home has 4 bedrooms. A large master suite has a king bed, walk in shower for 2, and an oversized soaking tub. The queen sized guest room can also be used as a temporary office. The other two rooms have a twin beds, there is another private room that has a queen air mattress. There are 3 distinct living areas that flow together seamlessly. The main area includes the open kitchen, counter bar, dining (seats 8) and living room with t.v, dvd, etc., 55" TV with Uverse cable channels, . There is a lower living area with a small sofa, 32" TV, gaming center, and table with seating for 4. The last living areas are outside. A large (12x30) screened covered deck with sofa, chairs, table and day bed are directly off of the lower living area. Beyond this is a large patio with gas grill, seating for lots, opening onto the side yard. This home has been updated and well maintained. There is a large grocery store(Randalls) just around corner with lots of shops and restaurants Trader Joes is down the street. This is also the point for public transportation. Please no pets/ smoke free home.

Also, this is not an good place to bring younger children who do not swim or do not swim well.

The NeighborhoodUpscale area of West Lake Hills on a bluff overlooking downtown. close enough to be convenient, but still maintains a rural and natural setting, an island inside of Austin City Limits. We are on a one acre lot that is 75% forest. Getting AroundI can drive you to a bus stop or bike rental in the mornings. Don’t expect to be able to bike or walk to places from here. They city of West Lake Hills doesn’t have sidewalks and the roads are steep and narrow in this area. The SpaceOur 4 bedroom, 3 bath house has midcentury aesthetics with modern amenities. The house, featured in Austin Home Magazine, is AD Stenger's original homestead, complete with the original stone and Stenger fireplace but remodeled and furnished with contemporary details. Our location is just a quick seven minute drive away from downtown Austin! You can bike or walk to Zilker Park. It's perfect for ACL and/or SXSW! The bedrooms feature 1 king bed with a private bath, 1 queen bed with a private bath, 2 twin beds, and another queen bed; these bedrooms share a bath. The dining room seats 10. The bathrooms have 2 standing showers and 1 shower/soaking tub combo. There is a fully equipped chef's kitchen, two living rooms, flatscreen tvs and free wi/fi. The carport stores bikes or strollers, the back patio has a dining table and chairs for 6. For those traveling with children, we have a portable crib and pak-n-play available along with toys and books. Note that the detached office space is not included in the rental. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly and beautiful. The neighbors are young and kind, but not nosey. There is a playground, baseball fields, and jogging path one block from or house. Zilker Park is a short walk or bike ride. Check in and out times are negotiable - we will do our best to accomodate you. Coffee and beverages will be available at check in. Hair dryers, soap, shampoos, toothbrushes are all accessible in the bathrooms. There will be plenty of space in closets, pantry and fridge. In addition, a Precore Elliptical machine is available (not seen in photos). Maid service can be arranged during your stay to clean sheets, towels, etc for an additional fee, if requested in advance. We can even recommend a babysitter! Booking our house ensures a comfortable vacation for you in Austin! We think it is a perfect place for groups who want to experience what Austin is all about. Whether you are on a family vacation, reunion, in town for one of the many events like SXSW, ACL, or Formula 1 – our home has the perfect amount of privacy combined with a great location nearby to everything Austin has to offer. Our home has a large family room and dining room and fully-equipped kitchen and gas grill. There is plenty of room to entertain friends and family inside and outside either on the back deck or around the pool. The master bedroom features a Tempurpedic king size bed and attached bathroom with separate large tub and dual walk in shower. The second bedroom looks out towards the pool area and features a queen sized deluxe mattress and en suite bathroom with tub/shower. The third bedroom has a plush memory foam queen bed and "jack & jill" bathroom that leads to fourth bedroom that has a twin over full bunk bed. We have two additional twin mattresses that can be added to the floor space in any room for additional sleeping space. Enjoy a dip in our pool (it's not heated) or kick back and read a book on one of our decks - hard to believe you're only 15 minutes from downtown Austin. It is 5 minutes from Barton Springs, hiking and mountain biking trails, and sport climbing routes on the greenbelt. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are in an open plan great room with vaulted 12-16 foot ceilings. There is tons of natural light and 2 sliding glass doors that open onto the raised back patio offering a view of the mature oaks and cedar elms in the backyard. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a flatscreen tv, stereo, blueray dvd player, Roku and free wifi. The raised back patio is a perfect place to relax in the hammock or the lounge chairs and watch the kids play in the large yard below, or you can sit in the hot tub while your dinner cooks on the propane barbecue grill. The master bedroom has a king bed with a private bathroom with shower and tub. The two other bedrooms have queen beds and share a full bathroom with shower and tub. The bedroom portion of the house is separated from the other side of the house by a door that acts as a great sound barrier. This is perfect for families with children or people who like to go to sleep at different times. The following are all great things to try less than 10 minutes away from your vacation home: Swimming in Barton Spring fed pool, Zilker Botanical Gardens, Free "Blues on the Green" music shows at Zilker park all summer long, Austin Nature and Science Center, kayaking or stand up paddle boarding on the Colorado River, fishing in Barton creek or the Colorado River, golfing at Butler park, Umlauf sculpture garden and museum, sport climbing on the bolted routes on the greenbelt, hiking and mountain biking for all levels of experience, and there just isn't enough room here to write about all the great restaurants. Getting AroundThere is a great bike rental store 6 min from our house on Barton Springs rd. There are also many bike rental kiosks all over town. You can get a bus downtown from Beecaves rd but it is so close it is easier to just take a cab. If your the adventurous type you can even drive 4 min to the boat rental place on the Colorado river and boat downtown. Other Things to NoteWe have fallen in love with Austin and all the wonderful outdoor activities that are available here year round and hope you will too.

Getting AroundWe are about 10 minute walk from a bus route (#30). Grocery stores and pharmacy, coffee and sandwich shops are accessible in about 10 - 15 minutes walk. An upscale mall (Barton Creek Mall) is about 1 mile away. And then there are always ride-sharing companies! Being Texas, a car-centered culture, it is best to rent a car or bike to get around easily. You may also borrow one of our bikes. Downtown Austin is about 3-4 miles accessible by bike, bus, or car. Other Things to NoteAustin has been in a drought the past 10 years and we are still on water restrictions. Therefore, we would like to ask to limit shower time and water usage. A perfect romantic couples GetAway or plenty of room for good friends and family. This Geodesic Dome is located on a hillside in West Lake Hills. Overlooking downtown Austin, located above Lake Austin, the private, secluded view makes this priceless. Texas native plants all around. Wildlife friendly. Families of deer and silver foxes. The view of downtown and the hills above Lake Austin from anywhere on the property is truly spectacular. Watch the fireworks display from Auditorium Shores on the 4th of July from my deck. Open spacious living, dining and kitchen area. Bamboo Floors throughout. The bedroom downstairs can sleep 3 with full size bunk on bottom and twin on top. Large kitchen with a large bar which seats 6 people. I have a glass formal dining table which can seat 8. Extra chairs are provided. Le Creuset cookware available for use along with fully stocked dishes and accessories. The very spacious loft overlooks the gardens below in the front yard. The loft area with adjoining Master bedroom and bath is lovely. The loft area has a futon sofa which folds into a full size bed. Queen size bed with a thick memory foam mattress in the Master bedroom. It's heavenly! Comfortable deck furniture. Downtown is less than 10 minutes away. Sit back and enjoy the breathtaking view day and night. Total privacy, seclusion, and relaxation! Carport can accommodate 2 cars with additional room for 2 more cars in the driveway.. Motion Sensor lights in the driveway provides plenty of light when arriving home after dark. Outdoor security cameras also provided for your safety. Also have colored flood lights in the trees and yard which creates a very beautiful, peaceful, easy kind of ambiance for evenings. The outdoor deck wraps around entire dome. 1.5 acres of privacy on the hillside above the city is very nice. In fact, it's perfect! The sun and the moon rises over downtown. Guests have access to the entire dome and property. A propane grill on deck for your use as well. I will leave breakfast items in the refrigerator for you during your stay. You'll have access to the washer/dryer for convenience. There is something fun for everyone!!! It's perfect for a nice relaxing place to hang. I have a large spacious front yard Carport Parking under carport for 2-4 autos Long driveway for two more cars. Security Motion Lights all around Yard and tree lights with colored flood lights LED lights surrounding deck are available. The privacy is amazing. Upon your arrival, I like to do a personal key exchange. I will explain some unique features of the dome. I'll offer recommendations on eateries, grocery stores, clubs and family fun if you desire. I must collect 6% Texas State Occupancy Tax from guests. We are required by the State as owners of Short Term Rentals to pay 6% quarterly to the State of Texas and the cost is passed on to the guests. I leave an envelope for guests with the amount due based on the guests gross transactions minus damage deposit. West Lake Hills is a very quiet neighborhood. Respecting my neighbors privacy is a must! However it's a heavily wooded area and the neighbors are also secluded and private. The hills and winding roads creates an "in the country" kind of feeling. The dome is located in a private and secluded area. The city view opens your world to Austin. Very convenient to Downtown Austin and Zilker Park...South Congress and many fabulous restaurants. Sharing my Dome with people from all over the world, making new connections with people and becoming friends has been an awesome experience. Making my guests feel very special and comfortable brings me joy in every way. Using alternative transportation or "ride sharing" such as Fasten, Fare or Get Me is a worry free way to get to downtown Austin. It's very convenient, safe and cheap. Downtown is only 6 miles away from the Dome. Fasten has replaced Uber and Lyft in Austin. Fasten is available to "request a pickup" in Austin coming back to West Lake Hills. But Uber is still available to "request a pickup" in West lake Hills going Downtown. Finding and paying for parking is sometimes an issue especially on the weekends. But when you are dropped off at your destination and picked up again by Fasten and brought back to my Dome in West Lake Hills, it makes having tons of fun downtown so much easier. It's a safe, convenient, inexpensive and a very reliable way to get around town. Your wait time is less than 15 minutes when picked up at the Dome. I personally have been using "ride sharing " for the past two years and love it. Uber Eats is also available in West Lake Hills. My Dome Sweet Dome Is a Perfect Piece of Paradise! Come and enjoy! The NeighborhoodWest Lake Hills is a very unique city within the city of Austin. It's a 4.5 square miles of hill country surrounding Austin. It;s very hilly with winding streets and is heavily wooded. People in my neighborhood are quiet, private and kind. It's an upscale part of town. Houses are tucked away in the trees and seen from the road. Outdoor music curfew is 10:00 pm Getting AroundUsing alternative transportation such as Fare or Get Me, Fasten, Ride Austin, or a taxi downtown Austin seems very convenient. When you are ready to jump into the lake, you just walk down to the dock (shared with the next door neighbor) where you will have access to two kayaks, two stand-up paddle boards, and a boat slip. Features include over 5500 square feet of living space, 5 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms, multiple living areas for adults and kids, two kitchens, large outdoor covered patio, outdoor and indoor dining areas, gas grill and a stone BBQ pit/grill/smoker, sun deck, saltwater pool and heated spa. There are 5 bedrooms. The upstairs master has a view of downtown, private balcony with TV, king bed, spa bath, dual shower, and walk-in closet. Two more bedrooms are located upstairs with full size beds connected by a Jack-and-Jill bath/shower with dual sinks. There is also a loft/large landing area with couch/twin bed and TV. Downstairs there is a second master with king bed, walk-in closet, and attached full shower/bath and a guest bedroom with 2 twin beds plus a 3rd twin trundle bed with adjacent full bath/shower. There are 3 living areas with couches and a separate office and mud room. Each living area has views of the hill country or downtown. In one living area, there are two couches that convert to twin beds and the other two living area couches could also be used for sleeping if needed.       The SpaceThere are 3 bedrooms with 2 queen beds and one twin bed. A very deep, comfortable sofa can sleep one more. Both baths are beautifully appointed with floating vanities, excellent showers and natural light. As an interior designer, I enjoy making my home a welcome, uniquely appointed and comfortable getaway, with saltillo floors, plush furnishings and everything you would need for a pampered stay. Cable, internet and ample parking on the sport court provided along with Continental breakfast for your first day. Restaurants and shopping are 5 minutes away. South by Southwest (SXSW) is an Austin, Texas based company dedicated to planning conferences, trade shows, festivals and other events. SXSW first began in 1987 and is centered on the downtown Austin Convention Center. Each of the three parts runs relatively independently, with different start and end dates.
