The yurt is fully insulated from floor to ceiling, so a quick switch to the small propane heater or a couple logs in the wood burn stove, will take the nip off the coldest of days. A ceiling fan will also help circulate the warm air flow and keep your toes warm at night, and the three windows and liftable dome can help circulate cool air for the warmer months. The site lights up the night quickly with the almighty power of the sun. It's equipped with a small solar system power for basic appliances, including lamps, so you can snuggle up on the couch and read about your next day's adventure.

The SpaceOur super dark night skies are perfect for star-gazing, with a deck and hot tub right off the master bedroom. Comes with fully equipped kitchen and high-speed internet, satellite TV, full entertainment center with stereo speakers throughout the house. Both bedrooms have high quality queen mattresses with plush bedding. Courtyard offers a relaxing environment for grilling and dining (a large propane grill is supplied). Guest AccessWe'll supply the mountain bikes for the slickrock trails of Moab (and Bluff!), water crafts for the local San Juan River, Lake Powell or beyond and maps and guidebooks to get you there. Interaction with GuestsWe offer non-hosted stays - you get the home to yourselves. But I am available by e-mail or phone both before and during your visit to answer questions and help plan your adventures. The NeighborhoodOur home is in the center of the 'four-corners' - a vast region encompassing portions of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah containing America’s largest concentration of national parks and monuments. Some of America’s most diverse scenery can be found here – Arches, Canyonlands, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon and Natural Bridges, Lake Powell, Monument Valley - to name just a few. Remote canyons, slickrock hiking/biking, fascinating geologic features and the remnants of prehistoric cultures are found everywhere. Getting AroundBluff is a small community of archaeologists, outdoor guides, artists and river runners. Super quiet, relatively remote (no grocery shopping except a small quickmart for milk, gas, etc.) few restaurants, one (great) coffee shop and no bars nor nightlife - this is the place to come to get away. Even a car is Other Things to NoteMany areas of the US Southwest have been 'discovered' and commercialized in the past decade. Bluff is Utah's best kept secret - world class scenery, the San Juan River for swimming and rafting, surrounded by thousands of square miles of public lands with amazing canyons and Anasazi ruins to discover and explore (please be respectful and leave them as you found them).. The SpaceThe yurt is 24 ft in diameter (approx 450 sq feet), and comfortably accommodates 6 people. It's located 40 miles south of Moab and 15 minutes north of Monticello Utah. It is in the heart of outdoor adventure land. From rock climbing to hiking, mountain biking, finding ancient ruins, to just relaxing and disconnecting from the stresses of everyday life for a while, the YURT is a true escape from a normal vacation. The Yurt is a partial self-service accommodation, meaning that some work or extra preparation is required on your part, pre and post trip, so PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. There is a wood burning stove and propane heater for heat. For sleeping there is a queen sized bed, a large single size couch, a full size futon, and 1 single pull-out bed. The kitchen area has a sink plumbed to the outside for washing dishes inside the yurt (but no running water), and double burner stove, along with all cooking supplies, pots pans plates, utensils etc for cooking and eating. Sheets, blankets, propane, and a 55 gallon drum of water is provided during Spring/Summer/Fall and 2 5-gallons jugs of water for you to fill up in town during winter season. Please bring your own extra water if you feel you'll need more. If you require additional water you can fill up in the town of Monticello at the Discovery Center 15 minutes from the yurt. Wood is provided during Winter Months (Nov-Feb), but during Spring-Fall you will be responsible for bringing your own wood. You are also responsible for chopping your own kindling and bringing newspaper for starting fires in the stove. There is an enclosed pit toilet (blue outhouse) 100 feet from the yurt and also a green "shower house" 20 feet away, that is fully insulated, tiled, and has a place to wash and take a shower. For showers you need to heat water and use the shower bucket, but it is really nice after a hard day of playing in the outdoors. Although the yurt is only a short walk from a county dirt road, it sits at 7500 feet, so during the winter an all wheel drive vehicle is recommended, to keep from getting stuck in mud/snow. I recommend you have road side assistance in case you get stuck and need to be towed. You do not need high clearance, and the roads are plowed after any snow in the winter. For single night stays there will be an additional $20 fee. I will send this to you via a "special offer" after your inquiry. If you have a dog(s) there is a non-refundable $25 pet fee, that will be sent via a special offer and you must confirm that your dog is tick/flea treated and friendly. You are responsible for cleaning and putting away dishes, removing your dirty linens, sweeping up, removing your own GARBAGE and leaving the yurt in good condition for the next guests. If yurt is not left clean, or garbage is left behind a $25 fee will be issued. The yurt is cleaned weekly by a local service, and linens are collected weekly, so you will need to put new, clean linens on the bed(s) when you arrive and put the dirty linens in the basket upon leaving. You will also be sent a Yurt Newsletter upon booking the Yurt that will include important information about your stay. Thanks and enjoy your Yurtcation!!!! Guest AccessRelaxing at the yurt. Decompressing from your hectic life. Close to the Needles District of Canyonlands, where you can lose yourself on beautiful canyon hikes, climbing in Indian Creek, local ruins, rafting, phew, the list goes on! Interaction with GuestsI do not live at the yurt. You will not be greeted by anyone, so please read directions on how to get there and find the key closely. You can call me at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The NeighborhoodVery rural, beautiful high desert area of southeast Utah. Sage brush, pinion pines and wide open prairies with views of 3 different mountain ranges. This is a part of the US that many people don't get to see and experience. My neighbors still raise cattle, farm and live simple lives. Getting AroundYou'll need a car. Many times of the year you will need an all wheel drive vehicle, but not high clearance. The county dirt roads are grated and cleared frequently. There are no big hills or descents to reach the yurt. Most of the best hiking and outdoor areas will require a 30 min-1 1/2 hr scenic drive. Other Things to NoteI RECOMMEND TO BRING YOUR OWN DRINKING WATER AND USE THE PROVIDED WATER FOR CLEANING/WASHING. BRING YOUR OWN FIREWOOD FOR NON-WINTER MONTHS. FIREWOOD ONLY SUPPLIED NOV-FEB. FIRESTARTER/NEWSPAPER NOT PROVIDED. MUST CHOP OWN KINDLING. USE THE ENCLOSED BLUE PIT TOILET BEYOND THE GREEN OUTHOUSE. THE COMPOST TOILET INSIDE GREEN OUTHOUSE IS OUT OF ORDER. REMOVE ALL GARBAGE WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE THE YURT. THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $25. $25 NON-REFUNDABLE PET FEE. PLEASE CONFIRM THAT DOGS ARE FLEA/TICK TREATED. DO NOT LET YOUR DOGS UP ON COUCH, FUTON AND BED PLEASE.

There is also a pack-n-play fold out crib for your convenience. The kitchen has cookware, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, utensils; everything you'd need to make your own meals. There is also a barbecue grill outside. In the large utility room there is a washer and dryer, plus plenty of room for a bicycle or two, climbing or hunting gear, or anything else you might need a little extra room to store inside during your stay. The house is clean and comfortable with lots of updates, yet it retains many of the original details you love to see in old homes. We have big plans for the yard but it is currently a work in progress. Interaction with GuestsWe are available to answer any questions or to deal with any problems regarding the home. The NeighborhoodPlease respect the neighbors by parking only on the street in front of the house and by keeping the noise level down during your stay. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in Blanding. The town is small enough that the movie theater, dining, grocery shopping, bowling, museums and other attractions are all within walking or biking distance. Other Things to NoteStreet parking for 2 vehicles. There is not a driveway for the cottage, the driveway to the south belongs to the neighbors, please do not park in it. There are a few steps from the street up to the house and a couple up to the front porch, they are easily managed by most people but unfortunately make the house inaccessible to wheelchairs.

The SpaceThis listing is for a gorgeous Navajo Traditional Hogan, and as such has no amenities. If you are looking for a way to connect with Navajo way of life, and visit the valley, and support a Navajo economy, connect with local culture, local people and live like the locals, you will enjoy this listing. Guest AccessYou can walk around freely, our home is just like walking out on the set of the western classic movie, The Searchers which was filmed right here in our neighborhood. We do have horses that wander around onsite, you might see them and they might see you. All Hogan guests can go to the Mustang Valley Campground, to use the shower. Mile Post 1, Monument Valley Road, on the South side of the street. Interaction with GuestsYou can go it alone, or hang out with us. If you would like to connect with us, just come by and let us know, as we cannot determine which a guest prefers automatically every guest is different with their preferences. If you run out of toilet tissue, or need a towel or anything, let us know. If a guests says they have their own plans, we interpret this to mean, that we can go on with our lives and do other things with our time. If a guest says they would like to spend some time, we always like to get to know our guests, and to share our stories, and our experiences. The NeighborhoodAll listings are confusing directions wise, however, we are not a tourist location, so people will not be passing by staring at you as you camp. You do not need a special vehicle to stay in our location or come back and forth. There are no street lights anywhere in the Tribal park, or on the main roads, so convenience helps people navigate quickly at our location. We are on What's App for directions and location coordinates for GPS. Getting AroundFor people renting vehicles, you do not need a 4x4 for this listing. However, it might be required if there is stormy weather inside the Tribal Park. There's a small grocery store, laundromat, gas station and car wash across the four way stop. You do not have to pay to get in and out of the Tribal Park to go wherever you like. The pass is good for 2 days. We have a sweet recommendation for nature lovers who are headed to Sedona-A wonderful and budget way to experience the magic of the red rocks is to rent a tent and camping gear from Tara. She advises people on the most beautiful and free places to camp in Sedona. From Monticello you can easily take day trips to visit Canyonlands, Monument Valley, Natural Bridges, Arches and more. Or simply drive ten minutes up to the camp areas in our own Abajo Mountains and go for a hike or hang out by the lake. The SpaceWe cannot control the weather, and everyone needs to remember like the experienced campers know, that if you are renting a tent, you are making a appointment with whatever the weather provides in any area in the world. On any date, the weather can change in any location, and if you are reserving a tent camp site, you have to factor in the weather. Please check the weather for all of your visits in remote areas, that is camping 101. You may borrow our tent heater if you bring the small 16oz propane canisters like the green Coleman cans. We have tent heaters that use the small propane canisters which if you buy four to six of them while you are in a major city on your way here they are very cost effective and can assure any temperature or for those with cold sensitivities. Please take your trash with you as we have no trash service in our remote community. If you leave trash it will stay here forever. Interaction with GuestsYou can totally ignore the hosts if you want to. But most people choose to hang out and have fun with us. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is the Tribal Park, we have the view of the movie "The Searchers" which was filmed on our side of the block. We are mins from the grocery store, gas, and laundromat. We are a hop skip and a jump to the entry kiosk for the Tribal Park. We are right in between, we are not in the Tribal Park but we are not all the way across the street, we have a great view for both sunset and sunrise. We have a lot of little nuances that the other listings don't. We get the last of the sunset well after it has set in the Tribal Park. We get the first of the sun, in the morning, that's because the Tribal Park is in a bowl of rock formations and Mesas. We are on the skirt of Mitchell Mesa. We don't have the glare of the hotel or the clinic, to marr the night sky. We are conveniently located next to the road to the tribal park and you do not have to travel down dirt roads or get lost finding a hard to reach location. Getting AroundBy Car: You can access our site with a regular vehicle. YOU DO NOT NEED A 4X4 for our site. However, you might anywhere else. Or if the weather is bad, the unpaved roads are vulnerable. 4x4 is not extra at many places that rent them but they are only required for the winters or heavy rain storms to reach photogenic locations.
