The SpaceWe bought the cabin in June 2015 after falling in love with the area on our first trip in April 2015. During that trip we visited Zion National Park (it was like summer that day in April), came back to Duck Creek and had 5" of snow that night. We went to Bryce Canyon the next day and had snow again. The following day we went to Kanab to visit Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and had very nice spring/summer weather.....WE HAD ALL FOUR SEASONS IN ONE TRIP!!!! We loved it so much that we went back to look at property and bought our Pine Ridge Paradise! We have done a great deal of work on the cabin and the wooded lot. FOR FALL/WINTER 2016: We installed 3 new Envi High Efficiency whole room convection wall panel fanless heaters for the bedrooms and main living area. They are safe for children, slim and silent (no fan). Each bedroom and living area can be controlled separately(URL HIDDEN) 2 bedrooms each with NEW king beds and bedding 1 large full bath with tub/shower combo in between both bedrooms (separate access to bathroom) 1/2 bath (sink/toilet) OUTSIDE in separate outbuilding attached to septic with running water next to the main cabin (summer use only) See photos. NEW queen sofa sleeper in large main living area ** Full Kitchen including full size refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher (needs to be attached to kitchen faucet to run). We do dishes by hand most the time. ** All NEW coffee maker, toaster, blender, large crock pot, plenty of dish ware, cookware, utensils and specialty cooking items too! **NEW 55" Smart HDTV with Blue ray player and surround sound system. DISH satellite. **Huge, beautiful wood burning stove with blower in large living area (wood provided)....heats up the entire cabin very quickly! Note: As of Jan 2017 there is some wood under the cabin deck....there is no guarantee you will have wood and kindling so it will be best if you bring some. We MAY stock the wood in the late spring 2017 but we are not sure....we will update our info though! There is plenty of wood on our lot (under snow in winter). There is an axe and other tools for chopping wood. **Large deck with all new, high quality patio furniture and propane BBQ grill **All NEW Fire pit outside next to the cabin.....make s'mores (yes, we have plenty of marshmallow/hot dog sticks), have a cocktail by the fire, look up and the stars! Plenty of chairs and space. **Garage under cabin for toy storage (ATV, OHV, bikes etc.) not quite large enough for a car/truck.....great to work on ATVs, snowmobiles, bikes etc. **Full size washer and dryer in garage **RV parking and plenty of space for vehicle parking. **VERY HIGH SPEED WiFi Internet **Plenty of games, books, puzzles, and area guide literature **All one level living Wildlife abounds here.....plenty of deer, birds, chipmunks, squirrels, crazy gaggles of wild turkeys rumble around our lot and surrounding vacant lot before taking flight to roost in the trees in front of our deck! They look like lumbering, heavy planes trying to get a running start to fly! Guest AccessGuests will access the cabin via key box attached to the side of the cabin. There are security doors on both the front door and the back door to the deck. Guests have full access to the entire cabin, garage and deck. We have a few areas locked for our storage (in garage and a cabinet in the cabin) Interaction with GuestsWe do not live onsite but will be available for emergencies. We have a local housekeeper and emergency maintenance people that live close by. Email and text is the best way to reach us! We also have great neighbors that keep an eye out (they are not intrusive). The NeighborhoodOur fabulous Pine Ridge Paradise is on a dead end street providing privacy AND very little dust issues from cars and ATVs rushing by!!!! This can be a big issue in our area! Duck Creek Village is a small mountain town that sits right off Highway 14 on Cedar Mountain in Dixie National Forrest and is a gateway to some amazing near by National Parks including Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon. With highway 14 taking you east to Highway 89 you can virtually be to Zion to Bryce in just about an hour and escape the hectic park traffic nearby the parks. The Cedar Mountain town called Duck Creek is full of Pines, Cedar, and Aspen filled meadows that all has an abundance of wildlife. The local wildlife include; Mule Deer, Elk, Antelope, Black Bear, Cougar, Turkey, Grouse, and many other small game. Getting AroundAccessible year-round (we have rarely had to use four wheel drive). There are two ways (roads) to access the cabin from Duck Creek. I have an all wheel drive small SUV that has never had an issue...... The roads are gravel and can be a challenge in rainy/snowy weather. They are plowed in the winter but the plows can be slow to reach our street. We recommend at least 4 wheel drive just in case you need it. Other Things to NoteMake sure to pick your seasons and activities correctly at Duck Creek because this awesome place sits at 8,400 feet in the high mountain desert of Southern Utah. Make no mistake about it there is a time and place for just about everything here in this really diverse treasure called Duck Creek. Some basic thoughts in planning to explore Duck Creek would include accommodations and activities. With the vast diversity of this mountain town you will need to plan in advance with the style of trip you are wanting. Take into consideration the time of year you want to visit and all of these areas activities that interest you and start there. In Spring and Summer your options may seem up in the air with the nicer weather; access may still be limited depending on that years snow accumulations, rain and current weather. Typically you will be able to hike, view wildlife, mountain bike, ride ATV & UTV’s at mid to high elevations. Fishing is always a good choice in Spring at most of the near by stream, rivers, ponds and lake. You can always head over to (URL HIDDEN) to check out the trophy quality water near by. The Spring and Summer times are a great time to see nature in its truest form and with the great abundance of wildlife don’t leave your camera at home. Special events in Duck Creek and nearby Panguitch, Hatch and Bryce Utah will keep anyone busy during summer months. In short days of Fall and Winter there are many different options for activities but they still dependent on weather conditions; Hiking, road biking, mountain biking, Hunting, Snow Mobile, Cross country skiing, Snow Skiing at Brain Head, Snow Shoe, Ice Fishing, Stream Fishing, Great landscape photography, and many more adventures. Depending on the year and that winters snowfall you will want to call ahead for current conditions. The weather conditions on this mountain can change dramatically so please check the weather ahead of your travels. The main highways are usually kept free of snow but again it’s a great idea check weather and UDOT to make sure your travels are safe. We require 4 wheel drive in the winter months....our roads are plowed but snow packed.
