The SpaceBeautiful evening sunsets and views. One bedroom is open with no private door. You are welcome to store your kitchen items and make your breakfast. There is also a hot tub in the back yard for anyone's use.....great for after skiing. Jim and I really like meeting new people, but are happy to let people just enjoy the space. Access to the freeway is less that 1 minute away and yet there is no road noise. There is a bus stop 3/4 of a mile away. Engen Hus Bed and Breakfast, a log cabin with character, located at the mouth of the Cottonwood Canyons in Salt Lake City. The original log cabin was built in 1949 by the three Engen bothers, Corey, Alf and Sverre. The three competed in ski jumping internationally. Alf held the world record for some years. The three brothers were influential in starting ski areas and ski schools in Utah. Engen Hus features four unique bedrooms, each with private bath, cable TV, and wifi. Other amenities include a hot tub, high-ceilinged great room with fireplace, loft reading and game room, BBQ grill, and patio with fire-pit. The SpaceWhether you're coming to Utah to enjoy the summer recreation or the unbeatable winter skiing, you will love the central location and amenities available to you in this completely private basement apartment. The space includes a bedroom with a queen-size bed, an adjoining newly-remodeled bathroom with shower, a large, spacious family room with a sleeper sofa that sleeps two, and - for optimal privacy - your own entrance with a covered porch. You do have to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. It really is the best of both worlds - we are nearby and available to assist you with any need you might have, but you can enjoy the privacy of being in your own separate space! We are retired and available to give you the help you need or the privacy you desire. Here is the best part - because we know you are visiting Salt Lake City for its fantastic recreation opportunities - this space is mere minutes from some of the best recreation Utah has to offer including Millcreek Canyon, Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons (home to Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird, and Alta), and the mouth of Parley's Canyon which will take you to The Canyons or Deer Valley. We are also only 15 minutes from the restaurants and nightlife of downtown Salt Lake City. Because we are less than a mile from freeway on-ramps headed in both directions, you truly won't find a more central location to everything you want to experience in Salt Lake City. The large family room has a sofa sleeper, new flat-screen TV, eating area with microwave, minifridge, coffeemaker, and toaster. The bathroom is stocked with fresh, clean towels, which we will keep you in for the duration of your stay. We also have lots of books to read! We offer Wi-fi, basic cable, and off-street parking. Our neighborhood is peaceful and quiet and is close to shopping areas and restaurants. Our place is a better fit for adults. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood offers the best view of Mount Olympus - in fact, our homes sits just at the base of the mountain and it can be easily seen from the front of the house. When you make the drive up our street you will not regret the location - especially if you get the opportunity to see it during autumn when it looks like it might actually be on fire from the bright orange and red colors of the leaves. We love that our neighborhood is so centrally located in Salt Lake City - typically, you can drive anywhere you want to go in about 15 minutes (give or take). We are surrounded by wonderful neighbors who take care of their homes and yards so the neighborhood is pleasing to look at and peaceful. Getting AroundSalt Lake City does offer a great public bus system that will be especially helpful if you want to utilize public transport to get up to the ski resorts in the winter. There are plenty of park-n-ride locations - one is just about a half mile from our home. You can also ride the bus to TRAX locations - Utah's light rail system that can take you as far south as Provo or as far north as Ogden, and even back and forth from the airport.

The SpaceThis is a spacious (2100 sq. ft plus including sports room) baby friendly (crib and high chair provided) basement apartment with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, FULL LIGHT WINDOWS and a private lighted entrance, a 1 car garage, and an indoor lighted, heated basketball/racketball court AND JUST ADDED: A PING PONG TABLE in a very safe, family neighborhood on the East side bench. Both bedrooms have walk in closets. The apartment has a full kitchen, dining area, large family room with large screen cable TV and WiFi, whole house water softener, working electric fireplaces (2) and a private laundry room. (AVAILABLE ONLY TO GUESTS WHO STAY TWO NIGHTS OR MORE) Winter time, you put your car in an insulated, private garage that never goes below freezing. You'll never need to have ice on your windshield in the morning and your car will be out of the sub freezing temperatures over night. The full sized kitchen has a microwave, full size oven, large fridge, counter top convection oven, dishwasher, coffee maker,cutlery, garbage disposal, coffee and coffee maker for your use, filters, sweeteners, creamers, paper towels, salt, pepper, and quite a few condiments to start you off. (Note: No breakfast is served). Shop the grocery stores locally and save a lot of money on your ski trips. All rooms have full sized, double pane windows and all fitted with semi-transparent (privacy) cellular shades. Large electronic controlled fireplace in the living room and master bedroom. Queen sized bed in master. Single (Captains bed) and a bunk bed (total of three twins) in the second bedroom. Crib available for the younger children. The dining area has a table that seats 4 comfortably with two additional settings on the kitchen counter. The bathroom has new tile, new fixtures and is well lit. There are plenty of quality towels shampoo, bath soap and a hair dryer for your use. The apartment provides views of Mount Olympus, the Alta peaks and the Oquirrh Mountains to the West in one of the most desirable east side bench areas. The apartment is decorated simply with comfort and convenience in mind. The living room has a large, comfortable sectional, pillows and cushions are down filled, facing the TV and new fireplace. The fireplace operates with a remote control. The apartment has ample storage (see photo of multi-shelved, yellow storage room) for ski gear, mountain bikes and snowboards. Public transit stops are 40 yards from the house. Dozens of challenging, beautiful trails (walking and biking) await less than 5 miles from the house. Since security is always a priority, the apartment has a private entrance with key pad access. Key pad entry codes are changed after every visitor. In the interests of honesty and fair expectations, the apartment, though not a basement apartment, (it has full light windows in every room) has some of the same characteristics. There is a private access to enter and leave with 9 steps. Being a basement apartment, there will be some noise from the floor above you. We have two dogs (Golden Retrievers). You may hear them bark occasionally and hear them walking about on the floor above your apartment. I hope you will find that what makes this property unique is how much like home it will seem to be. Over the past year over 90% of the comments made by our guests have been implemented. This process, I believe, makes the property better and better with each guest. We filled the unit with furniture and accessories visitors would use and we would readily place in the area we live in. Our goal was comfort and convenience. Hope you find we achieved this. Families of more than two are welcome for a minimum stay of 2 nights or more. Particulars: For the skiers, trail bikers, snowshoers and snowboarders, your apartment is 3.5 miles (5 minutes) from the ski bus departure location which (come ski season) will take you to Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird and Alta. If you’re driving, the house is 6 miles to the entrance for Big Cottonwood Canyon (Solitude and Brighton), 9.2 miles to entrance of Little Cottonwood Canyon (Snowbird and Alta), 25 miles to Park City Ski Resort, 22 miles to Canyons Ski Resort, 27 miles to Deer Valley Ski Resort. There is a bus stop 100 yards from the apartment that will take you to Trax, the main line mass transit system in Salt Lake City. The SLC Airport is 16 miles away. Downtown Salt Lake is less than 10 miles. The apartment is a 10 minute walk from several good restaurants. Other Local Attractions: 6 miles : Sugar House Park and Wheeler Historic Farm 1 mile : Holladay Public Library, Millcreek Canyon, and several pretty good restaurants. 8 miles : Joseph Smith Memorial Building, Temple Square and Mormon Tabernacle Choir 10 miles : Abravanel Hall, Salt Lake Convention Center, Clark Planetarium, Delta Center and This Is the Place Heritage Park. 12 miles : Natural History Museum 17 miles : Great Salt Lake Marina No shared areas. Apartment is separate from the house with a private entrance, kitchen, appliances, etc. Guests will receive a brief discussion about the apartment, where things are located and answers to questions. There after, the host is available for assistance as needed by the traveler. This property is located in a family neighborhood. Quiet and safe. Long walks at night, jogging and families just out for the evening. Three blocks from small downtown area with restaurants (Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Burgers, etc.) and grocery stores (Sprouts, Fresh Market, The Store, Dan's, etc) Great views of Olympus and the western ranges. There is a bus stop about 40 yards form the property that will take you to the University and eventually, downtown. Convenient off street garage or driveway parking. We are 17 minutes from the airport via mostly interstates. The apartment has it's own fireplace controlled with a remote, a wide screen TV with cable, WiFi, remodeled bath, full kitchen with cooking needs, utensils, pots, pans, frying pans, egg beaters, paper towels, napkins. There is a sports room with basketball/racquetball court plus a private laundry room. Guest AccessThis is a private apartment with a separate entrance and personal keypad access. Guests have 2 fireplaces, half court basketball and racquetball court, ping pong room, wifi, cable tv, full kitchen, storage room full light windows, central heat, fresh clean towels, shampoo, start up coffee, rocking chair and more. The guests have a one car garage available for their use. The sports room is for your use as well. The backyard belongs to the dogs. Interaction with GuestsThe host will provide a quick briefing to the guests and will remain available there after as the guest requires. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is a very safe, family oriented east side area with quick access to Big and Little Cottonwood canyons (Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude). Evening walks, jogging or wandering down town to have dinner at any of 10 specialty restaurants is both doable (3 blocks) and safe. Getting AroundPublic transportation (bus stop) is 40 yards from the house. Other Things to NoteThe apartment has been furnished with comfort and simplicity in mind. You will find it as spacious and as fully equipped as most homes. The apartment is heated and cooled centrally. There is no thermostat in the apartment.

The SpaceMy house is centrally located for all Sundance events. Many of the movies are in SLC which is 10 minutes from my house. Park city is 20-25 minutes away. The other ski resorts such as Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton, Deer Valley and The Canyons are all less than 1/2 hour away. Guest AccessYou will have 3 bedrooms with full modern kitchen and kitchenette downstairs, washer and dryer, family room downstairs as well as a cozy living room upstairs. The master bedroom has a TV as well as the kitchen. There's a steam shower and large jacuzzi tub in the upstairs bathroom. Off street parking. Interaction with GuestsI would love to meet you when you arrive and show you around and how everything works. The NeighborhoodQuiet neighborhood with perfect central location to everything in SLC and Park City and Sundance. My house is on a private corner with a view of the city. It's clean, cozy and modern. Getting AroundThere is a bus stop 4 blocks away and I think a shuttle to ski resorts as well. The bus can take you to Trax which takes you downtown as well. Other Things to NoteYou'll be comfortable and 'at home' in my home. I'm an interior designer and have tried to make it very welcoming. I travel a lot and love to meet people from all around the world!

The SpaceLOCATION, SPACE, DESIGN, SKI, FRIENDLY LOCATION - Holladay is close to ski resorts, town center shopping, downtown, Park CIty - it's the heart of the valley. SPACE - Our private one bedroom, Queen Bed, full bath, and entrance is a private - separated space. The private space is complimented by shared 8 car parking and large fenced yard. DESIGN - Designed with colors to welcome and comfort, the bedding, desk, lounge chair, and new bathroom give a crisp clean feel and an organized optimistic outlook. SKIING - We are avid skiers/snowboarders so if you forget or lose your gloves or goggles, we can probably let you borrow our gear. We also have knowledge and tools to help you have a great ski trip. FRIENDLY - We can enjoy getting to know you or leave you alone at your discretion. Guest AccessPrivate entrance, bedroom, and bathroom are separated from the home. Large outdoor space is shared. We are happy to facilitate breakfast, office supplies, and other services in a 'room service' capacity. Interaction with GuestsInteraction is based on guest desire. The NeighborhoodThe central location of Holladay is close to all the best attractions in the valley. Holladay is a tree filled, quiet, upscale neighborhood offering the finest in dining, shopping, and services. Just minutes away from the ski resorts (15), downtown (10), Park City (20), Universities - Utah (10), BYU (45), and more. Getting AroundBus transport to Trax light rail and Front Line train system. Ski Bus can take you to the ski resorts. If available, happy to shuttle to bus stop. Other Things to NoteTwo adorable hypoallergenic Yorkies are in and out of the upstairs all the time - not allowed downstairs. Occasional barking. Electric fence keeps them safe.

The SpaceThe Wine Room is a large, open and spacious bedroom with a queen bed, small breakfast bar and plenty of space to spread out. We do NOT provide a full kitchen of any sort; however, we do have a mini refrigerator, a toaster oven that reheats, toasts, bakes, as well as a crockpot, immersion blender, and very basic kitchen/cooking supplies (i.e. measuring spoons, cups, etc.). A full bedroom, and a separate single bedroom are available, too. You decide where you would like to stay. The wine room in the winter is chilly, but we do provide a space heater for your comfort. Note: The recently renovated jack and jill bathroom is located between the full & single bedroom with a shower and a large living area. Guest AccessWe will do our best to provide you with your needs and hope you feel at home! In return, we kindly ask for you to treat our space as you would your own home. We ask that you refrain from using the washer and dryer as they are not listed in our amenities list as well as the gas fireplace (please do not attempt to turn on). Interaction with GuestsIt is really up to the guest and what they prefer. We enjoy meeting you and showing you around our space but then tend to keep busy with our schedules and work. Feel free to connect as often as you need. You can reach us by phone, email, and text. The NeighborhoodOur home is situated in a fun area of Salt Lake called Canyon Rim. Only 15 minutes to several top ski resorts. It's a great launching point for the National Parks and getting to/from the SLC airport. Only minutes to downtown Salt Lake City. Perfect location for access to Park City, as well. We have several hiking and biking trails just minutes from our home. -Three wonderful, local parks all within walking distance (a couple blocks away). -An REI Outfitter's store, quite a few fun breakfast & lunch eateries and a new indoor rock climbing gym, a USPS Postal Office, all of which are less than a mile away! -Large grocery store very close, Smith's, Chase bank/ATM's and other shopping venues. Getting AroundYou can walk and bike to quite a few areas listed above. There are also city bus routes close by. Bus #33, #23, and access to the light rail and front runner from our home (only 1 exchange needed). Other Things to NoteAny child over 3 years old is considered a guest.

The SpaceThis apt is in the lower level of my home and has a separate entrance and is clean, cozy and tastefully decorated. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. There is room for 2 additional quests by bringing in foam mattresses (comfy!) There is a small bathroom with a shower (no tub) and a kitchenette with refrigerator, toaster oven, and microwave. Laundry facilities included. Located in a quiet neighborhood 5 minutes from I-80 east (to PC) and I-215 South (to Alta, snowbird, etc. All about 20-25 minutes away! I live in the upstairs area and will not have much interaction. However, I am definitely help you when you arrive with concierge details. What to see, do, restaurants, hiking, or ski resorts destinations, movie theaters, etc. and any other questions you might have!! Quiet neighborhood, with great access to all ski resorts and the downtown area and airport. I'm a mere 5 blocks from Mexican, sushi, fast food (4), and 3 other restaurants, as well as a couple of grocery stores. REI and Patagonia are both close and there are 2 fitness centers, a brand new climbing gym around the corner. There are 3-4 ski/snowboard shops for ski rentals/purchase in my area as well. There's buses that pick up for skiing nearby, as well as the bus system which takes you to Trax to get downtown easily. The SpaceThe Lena Room has one new Queen-sized Sealy Posturepedic mattress and box springs and cable television with a 32 inch Samsung Color Television and free Wi-Fi. The room comes with a large closet space for hanging and storing your things. There is an adjacent room (Sophia's Room) available for friends, couples and family members, if you wish to book two rooms at the same time. The two rooms can accommodate four people. The upstairs bathroom (see photograph) is shared with other AirBnB guests. There is also a full guest bathroom downstairs available as well. Guest AccessDownstairs there is a large kitchen/family room for guests equipped with a coffee maker, microwave, and toaster oven. I make coffee each morning for the household. Tea, hot cocoa, and popcorn are available along with a 12 cup pitcher of water using a PUR water filtration system. For late night reading, there is a library available to the guests. All guests are entitled to the living room, dining room, and a full 5 star kitchen, as well a new washer and dryer during their stay. Biking and hiking equipment can be stored in the garage. I also have a large enclosed outside deck for lazy relaxation. There is also off-street parking. The SpaceThe views are incredible, the house super nice, note this is our home, it is not set up like a hotel with empty cabinets and closets etc. so it will not be for everyone, the cats are indoor/outdoor (no litter box except in winter), an exotic breed, and pure entertainment. Note, you must be fit to stay here, as you must walk up our driveway (70 feet long, 25% grade) to enter the house (no driving up the driveway, we've had problems with that). We do not have cable, but we do have great wireless internet. Guest AccessThe whole house except the garage. Interaction with GuestsWe will never be here when the house is rented. We only rent when the house is vacant. The NeighborhoodIt's one of the most exclusive, glorious neighborhoods in Salt Lake. Our's is the only smaller (2700 sf) house in a neighborhood of monsters (7-13,000 sf). There is a hiking trail that leaves from our property. Getting AroundNope, you'll need a car. Best to have a 4wd in winter.

There is a bus stop 100 yards from the apartment that will take you to Trax, the main line mass transit system in Salt Lake City. The SLC Airport is 16 miles away. Downtown Salt Lake is less than 10 miles. The apartment is a 10 minute walk from several good restaurants. This is a very quiet, safe neighborhood populated throughout with families. There is a downtown area for our little town about a 10 minute walk from the apartment. In the downtown area there are several good restaurants. The apartment is on the far east side, close to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, hiking, skiing and Sugarhouse.The expressways that link the city are less than a mile from the unit. Airport is accessible in less than 20 minutes. Downtown is accessible in about 20 minutes. I would say this apartment is for those seeking a quiet, safe, drama free stay that closely resembles your own home but has rapid access to everything Salt Lake City offers. It's not for the loud, party crowd. In the lower level there is a large sports room that supports racket ball and basketball. The ski areas are minutes away. The ski bus pick up is 5 minutes away and will take you to the ski areas in big and little Cottonwood Canyons. (Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude). Hiking the Wasatch is less than 10 minutes away.

    The SpaceOur home is a remodeled mid-century split-level in a quiet neighborhood near parks and trails with stunning mountain views. As a split-level, the entrance to the apartment is shared with our living space upstairs, as is the laundry for long-term guests. You will hear noise from our movement upstairs but we try our best to keep it to a minimum. The garden level apartment is 1,300 sq. ft. and comfortably fits up to 4 people, with one spacious bedroom with queen bed and an optional queen size air mattress or pac n' play. You will have access to your own full kitchen, remodeled bath with laundry, and cozy living area with gas fireplace, large screen TV, DVD & stereo. French doors take you to a patio amidst our garden and to a shared fenced back yard with fire pit, gas BBQ, fresh herbs and vegetables in summer. In winter enjoy our gear landing with boot drier. Children/Additional Guests: We have a Pac n’ Play & high chair for small children and a queen air mattress for additional guests upon request. If you are traveling with children, we have plenty of toys in the basement, and in summer have a sand box, play area and a kiddy pool. Interaction with GuestsWe are very friendly and are open to as much or as little contact as you like. We live upstairs with our 5-year old daughter and two German Shorthaired Pointers. We will be present during your stay but work from 8-5 M-F with our daughter at school during that time. Our two dogs enjoy napping while we are away and will not disturb you, unless you want them to cuddle with you. If you arrive, or enter the house while we are away, the dog gate will be closed. Local Attractions Millcreek Canyon Minutes from our home, Millcreek canyon is home to world-class hiking, mountain biking, backcountry skiing, and in winter the upper half of the canyon’s road is groomed for skate and classic Nordic skiing and is ideal for a walk, run or even sledding. Dogs are allowed off leash on odd numbered days and mountain bikers have reign of the trails on even numbered days. The Holladay village is just down the street with great restaurants & shopping. Sugarhouse is a 10-minute drive and offers a wide variety of brew pubs, dining, bars, and locally owned boutique shopping. Big & Little Cottonwood Canyons Home to Brighton, Solitude, Alta & Snowbird as well as incredible hiking and road cycling are a short drive (15-20 minutes) from our home. Park City Home to the Sundance Film Festival, the historic mountain town and its three ski resorts (Deer Valley, Park City, the Canyons) as well as miles of groomed Nordic track and bike paths is a 30-minute drive. Downtown Salt Lake City & The University of Utah The University (The U) is a 10-minute drive and home to the Natural History Museum, Red Butte Gardens, and the Utah Museum of Fine Art. Five minutes beyond the U is downtown SLC including the Main Library, Utah Opera, Ballet West, and Utah Symphony, as well as countless bars, restaurants, and live music venues. Getting AroundPublic buses run 4 blocks from our home and connect to light rail (TRAX). Ski shuttles pick up just five minutes from our home. We can help arrange transportation to the park n’ ride for ski shuttles should you need; however we strongly encourage a private vehicle for easy access to and from our neighborhood. House is easily accessed with keypad door lock, so no keys to hide or worry about. I will leave a folder of useful information on the kitchen island. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is in one of the most sought after areas of Salt Lake. It is desirable due to its proximity to everything and the higher elevation that gives you cleaner air and prettier views. The neighborhood also has a great park just 900 feet from the house that has a baseball diamond, tennis courts, an off-leash dog park, and great valley views. There is a coffee and fresh juice shop that has amazing breakfast burritos just about a half mile away. Make sure you go and order "the cobra" juice... beets, ginger, and other amazingness. You'll be hooked at first sip. There are several restaurants just a mile away, but downtown SLC with hundreds of restaurants is less than 15 mins away. One of my favorites, Citrus Grill, is only a mile away. Everything is amazing there, but definitely try their fish tacos for dinner or huevos rancheros for breakfast. One of the nicest climbing and bouldering gyms you'll find is a mile away. Kid, beginner, intermediate and advanced routes, something for everyone. For the runners, I can leave routes for several good running loops around the neighborhood. Getting AroundIf you want to ski multiple resorts, this is the place for you as it is halfway between the Park City and Salt Lake City resorts. - 25 mins to Canyons Resort - 30 mins to Park City Mountain Resort - 31 mins to Snowbird - 32 mins to Solitude - 34 mins to Deer Valley - 35 mins to Brighton - 35 mins to Alta Downtown with all that it has to offer (concerts, sports venues, restaurants, shopping, museums) is just a few miles away, takes me less than 15 mins. Sugarhouse, with tons of shopping and restaurants, is one exit west and just 5 mins away. I would recommend a rental car for this location overall. You could definitely walk to the nearest bus stop that is about a half mile away if you needed, but in winter it's not ideal. If you are a biker, there are great bike paths and bike trails everywhere.

    The SpaceThis guest house is simple but well-equipped, private and easy. Sunsets from your lounge-ready back porch can be quite spectacular so get ready to sit back and relax for a spell. Guest AccessGuests have access to our porch, picnic table, hammock, grill. Note: There are at least 10 steps without railings between the street and the guest house, as well as a yard with uneven surfaces that are sometimes poorly lit. In the winter, there can be snow and ice that you need to navigate. You should plan on wearing appropriate winter shoes/boots if there is snow because even with our best attempts at snow removal, you may still encounter snow on the path. If these things don't sound appealing to you, please do not rent the guest house. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to interact with you as much (or little) as you want. There is a short walk through our yard and a partially-paved path from the street to the guest house that can be slippery in the winter and dark at night. We do our best to keep it salted but guests should be aware of the possibility of hidden ice and obstacles when approaching. Other Things to NoteAlthough there's no real kitchen, we've added a small fridge, filtered water pitcher, microwave, and coffee/tea maker to help you feel at home. There's an optional (electric) blow-up queen bed and linens available if needed. This is a great option if you have kids or just want to spread out. If you choose to use the blow up, we just ask that you do the inflating and make the bed. Don't worry - it's super easy! We also provide shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, hair dryer, iron. Note, this guest house does not have air conditioning. There is heat from several sources but the only cooling device is a fan, which feels great when placed in the window but in the hottest part of the summer, it can still be warm inside the guest house.

                Guest AccessYour bedroom is your's throughout your stay. It will only be accessed for cleaning purposed. The living room, dinning room, balcony, and bathroom will be shared with the owner. Pool, hot tub, and gym access can be arranged by giving the owner a deposit for the access key. Parking is plentiful and free. No curfew, but complex quiet hours do begin at 11PM. Guests are not permitted in the master bedroom, for any reason, at any time. Interaction with GuestsI'll be available outside of work hours (M-F, 8-6) if guests have any questions or needs. Guests may voice their preferences throughout their stay and I will do my best to accommodate. I'm happy to hang out and get to know you a bit or equally happy to give you as much privacy as possible. Getting AroundThere are multiple bus stops right next to the complex, on both Parley's Way and Foothill Drive. TRAX can be accessed via bus service. Bike paths are in the complex's immediate vicinity. Other Things to NoteThere are two coin-operated washers and dryers available, not inside my apartment, but a 20 foot walk from my door. There's multiple others available throughout the building, but these ones are typically available for use. If you prefer to hang dry your clothes, I do have a drying rack. Kitchen amenities include an electrical stove, blender, toaster oven, french press and an assortment of pots, pans, etc. You will have a dedicated section of the fridge. A hair dryer, fresh towels, shampoo, condition, and soap will all be provided. If you desire sheets or towels to be laundered during your stay (if staying longer than three days), please let your host know in advance if possible. If you will not have a car during your stay and would like to be picked up and/or dropped off at the airport, I am more than happy to offer this service for an additional $10/trip.                 The SpaceThe unit has its own entrance with lots of free on street parking. It is an open suite but has partitions easily unfolded and put up for privacy. If you find us there, we enjoy getting to know other travelers and sharing our love of Utah. Give us a knock. If we aren't there we can be easily accessed by text or call. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We are 1/2 mile from a Walmart and other restaurants and shops. We are on a very active bike route leading to the Zoo and up Emigration Canyon, plus the foothills of SLC, if you desire a quick mountain biking or hiking excursion to stretch your legs. For the boarders and skiers, our location is about the same time to all the ski resorts including, Park City, The Canyons, Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird and Alta. Getting AroundThere is a bus route within a 1/3 mile of our place if needed. Other Things to NoteFor those with severe cat allergies: We do have a cat that we keep from going into your unit at all times but the venting is common to the whole house. No Pets allowed.

                The SpaceThis centrally located basement apartment is 30 minutes from Park City, 30 minutes from Snowbird Ski Resort, 17 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport, 15 minutes from Downtown Salt Lake City and just a half mile from the nearest bus station. With hiking trails starting at 2 miles away and irresistible views, this location can't be beat. Guest AccessGuests will have their own private entrance to the walkout basement through the back of the house. There is plenty of free parking in the driveway and on the street. The apartment is a two bedroom, one bath, laundry room, entry area, with a living area and full kitchen. The space is 100% remodeled, EVERYTHING is brand new. A Sony Play Station 3 with games are available for use and we have hundreds of movies if you would like to use them just ask. The living area comes complete with an uber cozy couch and 7.2 Bose Surround Sound system. Of course there is WIFI available. There is a full size washer and dryer for your use too. My husband, 15 month old and I do live upstairs so that area would be off limits, however you are welcome to use the deck, sitting area and grill on the top level. There is a downstairs patio that you will have 100% access to with a dining area. There is also a fire pit you can use (first bundle of wood is free). The bar and frig are stocked with some items to get you started we only ask that you replace what you use (with comparable items) or leave a little cash so the next guest can enjoy the same amenities. Interaction with GuestsWe can interact as much or little as you like. My husband and I both work during the weekday so we are not usually around until the evenings. You can always get us via phone, text or e-mail. We are great trip planners and love to get out and do things so we can point you in the right direction for whatever you heart desires. The NeighborhoodWe believe Salt Lake City is the best place on earth…shhhhh keep that quiet. With the mountains so close you have to do some snow shoeing, hiking, skiing (cross country or downhill), snowboarding , or just plain driving around the mountain passes. In the fall the changing leaves are incredibly beautiful, there are tons of free concerts and events year round and the city is big enough to discover some darn good restaurants and still find parking either free or super cheap. Where else on earth can you get rich cultured city life in a 10 minute drive and turnaround and be skiing on breathtaking mountain tops in 30 minutes. However now Salt Lake City has Uber. We have used it a few times and it works great. There is a great train called the Front Runner however, it is 6.6 miles away. The closest bus station is 0.5 miles away. A taxi from the airport will cost you about $30-$35 or you could get a shuttle for a bit less. Utah Transit Authority does have a shuttle to the ski resorts Snowbird, Alta, Solitude and Brighton during the winter (which is great especially if you don't have a 4-wheel drive and/or chains for your car tires, this is sometimes required to get up the mountain). The cost for the 2013-14 season was $4.50 one way and the main boarding location is less than 4 miles from the house (you could get to Snowbird or Alta from the bus stop 1.1 miles from the house for the same price). Other Things to NoteLike I stated above the basement is newly renovated however it is a basement apartment and you may be able to hear us (and the 15 month old on occasion) above you. Other items worth noting: stainless steel frig, oven and microwave; stained stamped concrete floor, granite counter tops, custom cedar cabinets, partially stocked bar (I never say fully because that is too subjective;), coffee maker, toaster oven, pots/pans, reverse osmosis water, plates (everything you need in a kitchen), Sling TV (cable comparative), Netflix, Pandora (paid subscriptions), a small fireplace inside the TV cabinet, 7.2 Bose Surround Sound system, PS3 with games. Cedar trim throughout all doors. One room has a king size bed and the second room has a queen. Four people would fit comfortably, please inquire for additional people we may on occasion be able to accommodate. The Queen bed has a memory foam top mattress and both rooms have fairly large empty closets. The lights switches operate on a slight delay (we added some extras that operate wirelessly for your convenience). Oh we do control the heating and AC upstairs only (there is only one thermostat). We will however have a fan and space heater available for your use please just ask. If it is too hot or too cold please let us know and we will adjust as needed, we are not picky on the temp so you can have the reins on that. Please note additional people will be considered upon request. The How-To TV cards are located on the TV stand. Towels, additional toilet paper and other misc items are located in the laundry room. Please remember to remove your shoes. Please note it does snow here. Guests are responsible for their own snow removal. Shovels will be provided. The street usually gets plowed around 7am.

There is great dining in the local Holladay area and downtown SLC or up in Park City. This can easily accommodate up to four people. Guest(s) will have access to the gourmet kitchen (shared) space and an entire private 1300 sq feet of relaxing living area. Guest will have their own full private bathroom. They will have a private deck, with stunning sunsets of the valley. Skis/Snowboards/bikes will have a safe place to go. If you are traveling with children then you can also have access to a fabulous (boy) toy room with Wii, Legos, and games. I would like to know who is staying in the home and meet and greet and then be on our own direction. I will be available for questions and directions and maybe a drink at the local bar. What ever is comfortable for both parties. I may or may not be home during my guests stay.
