There are two major towns (Logan and Ogden) less than an hour away for major shopping and entertainment destinations, but there is a quaint feel to the town. Major retailers/national chains are not all present in town. Many of our stores and shops are locally owned and operated. You will find a lot of interesting things in the "mom 'n pop" shops around town.
Surrounding us is a large farming community. Fresh vegetables and fruits are available at local markets and stores. Rodeos, roping competitions and other events at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds are a highlight of our community.
We are a popular stop for travelers going through northern Utah to the Pacific Northwest, Yellowstone, and Canada. If you are traveling South to Arizona, Texas or other southern states, or if you are traveling East through Wyoming to the Midwest or beyond you likely will find the shortest route brings you past Tremonton, Utah.
Home of the Golden Spike where the Eastern team of the railroad construction met up with the Western team and completed the first transcontinental railroad, this community is still a must see. Getting AroundDo not anticipate being able to rely on public transportation. There are no buses, trains, or taxis in the area. Most everything in Tremonton is within a one mile walk of our apartment. Greyhound and an airport shuttle are available, but likely you will need a vehicle (your own or a rental) for transportation. Other Things to NoteWe live in a neighborhood that is filled with a lot of multi-family homes and apartment buildings. The neighborhood is typically quiet, but this is not a country lot or a small residential neighborhood.
Tremonton is small town living. There are limited options for shopping and restaurants. We find we are able to get most of what we need, but some items may be unavailable. There are VERY limited options for night life. Most of the town closes by 8pm, grocery stores are typically open later until 10 or midnight. There some restaurants open 24/7.
There are some family friendly activities in the area. Lots of parks, a bowling alley, outdoor activities, and Crystal Hot Springs is not far away. There is a community swimming pool (indoors) for year round use. There are a variety of gyms and exercise classes nearby and even within walking distance.
