The SpaceOne double bed upstairs in private home. Bathroom for their use is downstairs. Foam mattress available on the floor if a double bed is not a good sharing option. Wifi available. Your hosts are seasoned international travelers who enjoy meeting and hosting others. We do have 2 cats for those who have concerns about allergies. Guest AccessWe make our kitchen available to those guests who would like to make their own meals. We provide coffee or tea but the incidence of dietary restrictions is so great these days that we choose not to provide breakfast. Also our morning schedules are quite variable so we are not always available. I like to know if people are planning on food prep so I can make room in the fridge and am happy to share the incidentals like oil, spices, sugar, etc. Living room and TV room is open to them as well. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to share our whole home with guests - they are welcome to our kitchen and living areas - but are also respectful of the fact that some folks need to have their own space. We always enjoy some conversation and if we need our own space are upfront about communicating that. We also try not to be too demanding on their time as we realize they have come to the area with specific events to attend - but this can be a challenge as our curiosity leads us to want to know them better. AirBNB is such a good way to remind us all that there are lots of good and interesting people in the world! The NeighborhoodQuiet. Open space. Easy access into Middlebury. Close to ski areas for winter fun and to Lake Champlain or Lake Dunmore for summer recreation. Getting AroundSadly not! This is semi-rural Vermont! Other Things to NoteWe are willing to rent the whole house out for events at Middlebury College. The house could accommodate 3 couples - one room with king-size bed, one queen and one double. Mattresses can also be put on the floor if here are more folks. Please contact me for pricing.

The SpaceOne of the wonderful things about this apartment is the expansive view of the Green Mountain National Forest that also includes the local farmers' hay & corn fields, their grazing pastures, and the old hedgerows. In addition, the wildflower meadows and transitional wetlands make great wildlife habitat and add color to the landscape. Enjoy all of this from the deck while relaxing in the two rocking chairs. If you want to avoid the restaurant crowds, cook your own dinner where you have the choice of eating on the deck or inside. Both dining tables seat 4 people each. I like to stock the kitchen with staples you may need in small quantities. Everything I offer is clean and fresh, so you can feel safe using it. You can expect.... coffee & tea salt & pepper flour & sugar oil - olive & vegetable vinegar - balsamic & red wine butter ketchup & mustard honey & lemon juice basic spices like... garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. In the bathroom you'll find the basics like ... towels soap & bubble bath shampoo & conditioner cotton balls & Q-tips hair dryer Guest AccessThis apartment is part of a large custom-built home. The entire apartment is on second floor and can be accessed privately with an outdoor stairway. In times of inclement weather, the entrance of the main house is available. The house is located just ½ mile off the main road (Rt. 30), down a private drive, at the end of the road. It is a secluded setting, but enjoys very easy access to Middlebury, even in winter. Guests are welcome to walk the paths in the fields or the road to enjoy the property and stretch their legs. People in the main house come and go throughout the day and are happy to say hello and chat a bit if they have time, but I like to reserve the front & back porches for their use and enjoyment. Guests may use the laundry room upon request (so we can ensure the washer/dryer is available), otherwise we ask you observe the privacy of those living in the main house. Interaction with GuestsEither I or my property manager will greet you, get you set up, answer any questions you may have and then leave you on your own. We're always happy to help with information, directions, and recommendations about the area. Also, we respond quickly to any questions or problems that may occur with the apartment via text, cell or email. The NeighborhoodAlthough I'm only 2 miles from Middlebury, my location is very private. Views from the apartment show off Vermont's working landscape, changing seasons and dynamic weather patterns. No need to use the blinds as the neighbors are few and far between. Middlebury is 5 min away with many good restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Some favorites are The Storm Cafe and Two Brothers Tavern. Best cup of coffee is Carol's Hungry Mind. My two favorite sandwich places are Costello’s and The Grape Vine Grille. My favorite breweries in town are Drop-in Brewery and Otter Creek. Woodchuck Cider and Vermont Hard Cider have tasting rooms, as does Lincoln Peak Winery. Main street has a nice smattering of shops, including clothing and jewelry, along with galleries and bookshops. If you plan to cook while you are visiting, we have conventional grocery stores and a great natural foods store referred to as 'The Co-op." Farmer's Markets on Wed and Saturday morning at the Marble Works area near the Otter Creek river. Getting AroundYou'll want a car or bicycle to get to town, which is 2 miles away. Burlington, VT is closest airport (1 hr away) Amtrak runs into Rutland, VT (1 hr away) Ski Areas are between 30-90 min away. -Snowbowl - 30 min -Sugarbush - 75 min -Killington - 70 min -Rikert/Breadloaf Nordic Center - 30 min Other Things to NoteIn this location, wildlife comes in many sizes. Expect to see and/or hear, deer, coyotes, wild turkeys, fox, rabbits and squirrels. You may also hear rifle shots in the distance during the Fall hunting season. Once in awhile, during the summer, the smells from the local farms let us know they are busy fertilizing their fields, but that is rare. Depending on the time of year some insects like to find their way inside, no matter how diligent we are. We think this is a small price to pay for enjoying such a special corner of the world. But in any case, I provide a variety of products and suggestions to help deal any unwelcome visitors.

We can recommend restaurants in Middlebury or perhaps we cook dinner for you upon request at an additional charge per person. We built a Smokehouse as our hobby and enjoy smoking fish and meats for dinner. BellaVista is located on the face of Snake Mountain, access to hiking is in walking distance. Getting AroundYou will need to have your own transportation. We are in a rural area. There is always artistic, musical, theatrical and College sporting events on going. Please check out on the Middlebury website "things to do in Middlebury". Other Things to NoteWith 3 private rooms and mudroom entrance that constitute BellaVista your privacy will not be interrupted. Providing we have snow, "Think Snow!" you will be able to Nordic ski or snowshoe on 16 acres of privacy right out the front door. We have 2 pairs of shoe shoes available, but not Nordic Ski's. Ice skating on our pond, depending on Mother Nature's cooperation is also available. You will need your own skates. On days or evenings when the wind cooperates, a bonfire in our fire pit goes great with a cup of hot chocolate or glass of your favorite beverage.
