As a guest you might like to hang out in the kitchen, living room, music room or out on the porch. Each room features either a queen-sized or double bed and can accommodate up to two people. There are two shared bathrooms. We have 130 acres of fields and forest to explore. There are paths including one to a beautiful waterfall. Feeders bring birds close to the windows and porch. Other wildlife may include woodchucks, squirrels, coydogs, hawks, foxes, hummingbirds, wild turkeys or deer. There is a collection of guides to local hiking trails that you may borrow. Interaction with GuestsI love greeting and chatting with guests. Please let me know if you would like to know about the history of the place, where to shop for antiques or where the nearest ski areas are. If you prefer more privacy, or less contact, just let me know. Usually I will serve you breakfast family style with everyone in the house at the same table. If you prefer to eat alone, just let me know. I want your stay to be just they way you envision it. Breakfast is served according to your schedule whether early bird or late sleeper. At times I may need to be away or leave early in the morning. In this case, breakfast will be self-serve but will still consist of a delicious breakfast with hot, homemade food, coffee or tea and seasonal fruits and juices. The NeighborhoodStroll the country roads past cows and horses or climb the hill to the sheep farm. A two and a half mile walk takes you along the White River into the village where you will find two excellent restaurants. One is a sit down style with steak and sea food dishes. The other is a gourmet beer pub with grass-fed beef burgers, organic vegetables, and micro-brew beers. Nestled in the heart of Vermont we are just three miles from I-89 on your way up to all the ski areas, hiking trails, festivals, craft shows, art shows, Agricultural Fairs and so much more. Getting AroundAs in most of rural America, a car is the best way to travel around. The closest airport is BTV in Burlington, Vt. where you can rent a car. Buses and trains from Boston, Ma., NYC or Montreal, Quebec arrive into White River Jct. or Lebanon, NH where you can also rent a car. The Space1840's Farmhouse with amazing views from every room in the house. Each of the three bedrooms features a queen-sized bed. There is a wood stove - fireplace in the living room which welcomes guests with a warm cheery fire on cold days. There are 2 shared bathrooms. Breakfast is included and often consists of homemade quiche, coffee or tea. Please let me know if you are vegetarian or are allergic to anything. Also, please let me know if you prefer pancakes, eggs or cereal with yogurt with fresh seasonal fruit. We have free WIFI. The bed and breakfast is located just 2 1/2 miles from South Royalton where you will find a couple of nice restaurants, Five Olde and the Worthy Burger. In the summer there is a Farmers Market on the Green each Thursday afternoon with a band concert following in the evening. Vermont Law School, the top Environmental Law School in the country, is also located in South Royalton. Getting AroundBuses, trains and planes all come to Vermont but to get around in this rural state you will need a car. Car rentals are available at any terminus. We are 2 1/2 hours from Boston, 3 hours from Montreal and 5 hours from NYC. Close to several down hill ski mountains. The cabins are immaculately clean and fully equipped with all linens, cookware, as well as satellite TV and DVD players. The "east" cabin has a wilderness theme, is pet friendly, and does not have a pull out so it accommodates 2 people. The SpaceThe house has three floors. Main floor has full kitchen, dining area, living room, and half-bath. Top floor has two bedrooms and bathroom. Ground floor is a fully carpeted room with extra sleeping (one futon and full size air bed) and TV + wii. We live in the attached farmhouse. This is a working vegetable farm and so we're here all the time! Guest AccessOur guests have full access to the property, including the porch, barn, fields, and river. Bring your canoe or kayak and take a paddle...we can tell you the best stretches and where to put in and pull out. There are tubing groups in the area if you prefer that. We know all the local swimming spots so just ask! Interaction with GuestsWe will always be available, either in person or by phone, to answer questions or offer advice. We know lots of great hikes and other things to do in the area...even if you want to go farther afield! Hiking in the White Mountains? No problem, we've done tons of hiking there. Trip to Boston for the day? We used to live there (and one of us even worked for the National Park Service, giving historical tours on the Freedom Trail) so can offer lots of suggestions. We are also good at leaving people alone if you want privacy. The NeighborhoodWe are one mile from the Vermont Law School and some fabulous restaurants (5 Olde Tavern, Worthy Burger). Also, we have the best little co-op in the state of Vermont, complete with growler filling station (South Royalton Market). Getting AroundBeing in a rural area, you will need to drive to get here. The good news? Parking is NO problem.

The SpaceThe Sugar Hill Cabin has ALL new furnishings. From the mattresses, to the towels and everything in between. Everything is NEW! This cabin rental is just for the Main floor and Upstairs of a very LARGE cabin. The rental has 4 BDR/3.5 baths. Getting AroundWhile central Vermont is a great place for biking, unless you are an avid cyclist, you will need a vehicle. The gravel road is well maintained, but four wheel drive is recommended in the winter months.
