The SpaceThis cabin is super sweet. Our family lived in it for a couple years before building down the road. There's a decent kitchen (range, oven, fridge), a great living room with wood stove (you need permission for this), a phone, a TV that plays movies (but no reception) and great southern light, a master bedroom with king, another bedroom with double twins, and a third bedroom with a double. The bathroom has a tub with shower. Guest AccessYou get the whole cabin! And we are down the road. Interaction with GuestsWe'll be around when we have guests, although there is a slight chance that we might be unavailable in person. We'll meet you when you check in, but then we'll stay out of your hair. That being said, if you want to check out the farm and garden, we're happy to show you around. And show you where you can weed. The NeighborhoodThe cabin is on 133 acres of woods and fields. We have pigs, lambs and goats, steer, and chickens for the warm months. You may have zero interest in any of these things and just want a cozy place to stay, but it's pretty cool to check it out. Want to be a farmer? Want to work those muscles? Just let us know. I'm sure there are a dozen things you could do.
There are some decent trails on the property if you're a walker, biker, snowshoer or nordic skier (but we don't groom). Off our property is the center of Newfane (10 minutes), Brattleboro (30 minutes) and Manchester (an hour). There are lots of things to do within our small area, but if you're dying to see the big city of Brattleboro, then you'll find even more.
For downhill skiers, Stratton is about 35 minutes away, Mt Snow about 30 minutes. Bromley and Magic are a little farther. Getting AroundMost cars will be just fine up here, although in mud season you might want to check in with us. And in snow you have to have decent tires. This is the sticks, after all, but the town guys do a great job with the roads. Other Things to NotePlease leave the space clean when you leave. I'll obviously clean up after you, but I don't want to do your dishes and pick up your trash. Just make it tidy looking. Dogs are allowed, but make cleaning the cabin more difficult. If you want to bring dogs, you'll need to do more of a clean- probably some vacuuming.
