Our excellent weekly rate may also be your group's rate if you come for a shorter visit. Call to ask. With our weekly rental there is no extra "per person per night" charge.
Come relax by yourself or with your group (for 1 - 24: optimal # couples is 4) in our secluded, comfortable, cozy, and exceptionally clean 3200 sq. ft. Lodge near Lynchburg and Appomattox, Virginia, with the only vacation access to the James River in Appomattox County (between Lynchburg and James River State Park).
There are 4 full bathrooms with plenty of fluffy, white towels, excellent paper products, and bathroom supplies, a uniquely well-equipped kitchen (you will be shocked at how much you'll find there), and a large meeting/livingroom. You'll be able to spread out in the den/library, recreation room, and sunroom. We have plenty of outdoor furniture for relaxing in while listening to the soothing sounds of the woods, or for eating your breakfast, lunch, or dinner outside. If your group is larger, you are welcome to set up tents and camp around the Lodge, or anywhere else on the property.
Campers are welcome, not only around the Lodge itself, but at our gorgeous riverfront picnic area and canoe access.
We provide unlimited local and long-distance phone service, up-to-date satellite TV (Directv) in the Lodge at no extra charge, and optional wireless high speed internet access for a slight fee.
We're located in historic Appomattox County, where the Civil War ended and which is the location for the wonderful Appomattox County National Historical Park, complete with living history re-enactors, and the Museum of the Confederacy with its year-round abundance of activities for all ages. Enjoy county cooking in the Town of Appomattox, and live music and great coffee and treats at Baines' Bookstore. Come in 2015 and enjoy the events surrounding Appomattox's Civil War Sesquicentennial Celebration (General Lee surrendered to General Grant here 150 years ago).
There's a growing number of nearby wine, brewery, or history tours easily visited by renting a limousine or driving yourself. Two of Thomas Jefferson's homes are nearby, as well as many other great places to explore, and restaurants to try. Bring your children to award-winning, hands-on Amazement Square in Lynchburg for a visit.
Bring your women's group and let us entertain you for a week ($1000 + tax/person. Minimum: 4 friends).
Love fishing? We have outstanding small-mouth bass fishing, blue gill, carp, and catfish, and are seeing a welcome resurgence of shad.
Like to hike? We have more than 7 miles of trails all over our 275 acres just for you. We've seeded the trails with picnic tables so you can stop and have a picnic or make some sketches of the abundant wildflowers.
Kids love to come brush our horses or fish in our little pond. Find some arrowheads while you're watching them or take them up the hill to the historic old manganite mine.
You can rest while you're here, but you won't be bored. Raining or snowing?--That's ok, we have tons of stuff inside to entertain you and your kids with: ping pong, fuse ball, puzzles, games, LOTS of books, and recent magazines, as well as cook books and cooking magazines, and outdoors magazines for the fishermen and hunters.
Minimum fee is $350 for 8 people/night (2 night minimum), then $35/person/night (adults AND children). Take advantage of our "Weekly rate" of $1800.00 (7 nights for the price of 5), and no extra per person/night charge.

We're in the lovely rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Lynchburg, Virginia. Rockcliffe Farm Lodge is located on a private 275-acre registered tree farm and forestry conservation easement. Hardwood trees, wildlife, and wildflowers abound. A picturesque, perennial stream is a short walk downhill from the lodge, and our gorgeous 2500-ft riverfront access on the James River is found at the end of a scenic walking or driving trip via our private woods road.
Find plenty to do in the Lodge, or step outside for a short or long hike. Go sightseeing at the Appomattox Courthouse National Historical Park, the (new) Museum of the Confederacy, or hang out for an evening of music and coffee at Baines' Books. Fly in to Lynchburg Airport, a close 30 minutes away, or Richmond, Charlottesville, or Roanoke Airports. Trains stop in Lynchburg and are very convenient. The drive here is beautiful from any direction.
