The SpaceIf it's Peace and Relaxation you're in search of, you've found it! Direct, Private Beachfront Property. "Water's Edge" is located in the private unincorporated community of Pickett's Harbor. Nestled within a private setting, amongst the unspoiled landscape of Virginia's Eastern Shore. "Water's Edge" is direct Chesapeake Bay-front on a private, white sand beach. With its open floor plan, this 4 bedroom, 3 bath luxury home is a sure (shore) hit! This home boasts spectacular views from each and every room. Enjoy panoramic (220 degree+) views from the wrap around deck where exquisite sunsets are the norm. Relax in a hammock or walk for miles, as the nearest neighbor is over a half-mile away. Whatever your fancy; whether it's sipping your morning coffee as you listen to the gentle waves lapping the shore or imbibing in your favorite cocktail while watching a beautiful sunset, you'll find the enclosed portion of the deck the utmost of relaxation. Or perhaps it's grilling your fresh "catch of the day" then stargaze from the bubbling hot tub. Let the sounds of the gentle Bay waves lull you to sleep at night. Whether you choose to sleep on the screened porch, pitch a tent in the yard or lay beneath the linens in any of the four bed rooms, you will hear the sounds of the Bay. Sunrise is special at Picketts Harbor. Due to the lower-shores geology of the bay-side sand dunes, the rising sun lights the sky with colored twilight. Picketts harbor stays cool and dark for about an hour as the light migrates across the water from the western shore over the water to finally illuminate the beach.. Enjoy this spectacular sight during your peaceful morning walk or for the less ambitious, just leave the blinds up and enjoy this from bed. This is the best alarm clock that nature has to offer. Walk on the Beach for miles, past unspoiled sand dunes, nature preserves and sand cliffs. Walk all the way down to Kiptopeake State park. Weekly Rental only, Saturday to Saturday Tax rate 10.5% is added into the daily rate Cancellations w/in 30 days of arrival will be billed in full unless we can re-book Interaction with GuestsWe remain availble by phone or text.

We are ONE BLOCK from a pristine sandy beach on the Chesapeake Bay! How long does it take to get there? Watch our short video -- search "youtube cape charles southern breezes a walk to the beach" Folks tell us that after a long drive, arriving at a house they've never seen before, when they walk inside SOUTHERN BREEZES the first word they utter is 'Wow!' How loud the 'Wow' expresses how charming, spacious, and clean the house is. Cape Charles is a Victorian village, and our grand old four-level brick duplex epitomizes the character of the town. Built in 1923 for two families, that's the way SOUTHERN BREEZES remains today. Choose between the NOR'WESTER for up to 8 people (maximum 6 adults) or the NOR'EASTER for up to 10 (maximum 6-8 adults). Each side is the same size; only the bed configuration differs. The Nor'wester and Nor'easter each include a living room and front porch, dining room, eat-in kitchen and half bath on the first floor. An easy walk up the presentation staircases brings you to three bedrooms and a full bath. The full basement includes a laundry room with stall shower and sink on each side with four bicycles and crabbing gear, just a few steps down from the outside entrances. The Nor'wester has 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds (can become a king), and 2 bunks. The bunks are on the sleeping porch sun room for kids old enough to stay downstairs by themselves. (And they will be thrilled -- there's even a TV!) Over in the Nor'easter there's a king and a twin in the front bedroom, a queen and a twin in the middle bedroom, a queen in the back bedroom and 2 bunk beds downstairs for kids. Every room has cable TV/DVD plus online movies & music from Netflix, Pandora, Amazon, Hulu, and more. And the living rooms have Angry Birds and Pac-Man games as well. And of course, we have high-speed WIFI Internet! The kitchens seat 6, and the formal dining rooms up to 8. The living rooms each have both a sofa and a love seat -- ideal for watching movies on the flat panel TVs. Each room has a window AC, (6 per side) so everybody can be happy at their own preferred temperature. Or, open the big windows and catch the breezes! The bedrooms also have ceiling fans and transoms over the doors. There's a shower/bath on each second floor, another shower in each lower level laundry room, and a private hot shower outside (our favorite). Kitchens include a double-door fridge with water and ice dispenser, dishwasher, disposal, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, electric teapot, TV, etc. Four cruiser bicycles on each side, and four more in the carport. Full-size washer and dryer in each laundry room. Bed selection ranges from firm to plush, with memory foam toppers and lots of pillows. Enjoy Cracker Barrel rockers and wicker furniture on the divided front porch, stainless steel pots and pans in the kitchens, and both gas and charcoal grills in each separate picnic area out back. Premium quality sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels (including beach towels), soap, dishes, silverware, and pots & pans. Also lots of books and magazines -- plus the town library is a 5-minute walk away! Arranging to stay at SOUTHERN BREEZES is easy: You'll receive a welcome letter with everything you need to know, including the lock box combination on the front door. When you depart, just return the key to the lock box -- that's it! This house has it all: historic charm, perfect location to beach and town, and reasonable rates -- all geared toward families looking for a relaxing, spacious, clean but not too fancy old homestead for gatherings up to 6 adults per side plus their children and the family dog. (No cats, please -- they prefer to stay home anyway!) PARENTS -- This area is perfect for children! There's a huge park and playground just up the street. Bikes are the way to go! There's a skateboard park, tennis court, basketball court (at Baptist Church), beach volleyball games every night, fishing and crabbing. For a change of pace, take a day trip across the bridge to Virginia Beach, Busch Gardens, and Williamsburg. Cape Charles is also golf cart legal. If you rent a cart, you can keep it in the carport out back. Guest AccessWhole house Interaction with GuestsAvailable but not underfoot! The NeighborhoodMaybe we're biased, but we think Monroe Avenue is the best street to live on in Cape Charles! It starts at the beach and runs to Central Park, where it stops, so there is no through traffic! You can count the cars that pass in an hour on the fingers of one hand -- and they drive about 10 mph. Getting AroundWalk to almost everything: beach, fishing pier, park & playground, shops, restaurants, library. You will need a car to get to the grocery store.
