The SpaceMy Uncle's Place is a 2 level brick town home located in a quiet tree lined TH community. Each bdrm offers a queen size bed. The blue room boasts a Tempurpedic mattress & the green room has a Select Comfort Sleep # bed (so if you have a bad back or are considering a purchase, come & sleep here first:-) We have space for up to 4 guests (i.e., 2 couples or 1 couple & 2 kids, 1 or 2 singles etc.). Both bedrooms are located upstairs & both the bdrms & stairs are carpeted. The bathrooms and the entire downstairs level are tile.
My Uncle's place has a full bath w/tub & shower combo, dbl sinks, makeup mirror, hairdryer, and towels. There is also a half bath on the first level.
We have a fully equipped kitchen with pots & pans, toaster, waffle maker, coffee pot, and a Nutra Bullet for Smoothies! There is also a full size dishwasher, fridge, oven, stove, & microwave. A full size washer & dryer is also available at no extra charge, so guests wont have to worry about running out of clean clothes, towels or linens.
A small patio is located outside the kitchen back door.
If you should have need of anything else, Wal-Mart, Kroger, Food Lion, Target, CVS, & Walgreens are a mile or so away. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire home.

* Please note: Restrictions- the outdoor shed and 1 of the 2 closets in the blue bdrm will remain locked as these areas are for owners use only- thanks for respecting our space. Interaction with GuestsJohn & Traci live in a neighboring county and will assist with checking in & out as needed. When we are in town, we prefer to greet our guests, answer any questions, and walk them through the home.
My Uncle's Place is available with you in mind therefore we offer a 24hr keyless entry. Check in/out times of 10a & 1p are general guidelines. Please let us know your needs and we will accommodate as much as we are able. We are available by phone or text to assist in making your visit as comfortable as possible, We do not anticipate being actively involved in day to day interactions with our guests. We respect our guests privacy and allow you the opportunity relax, play a game, read a book, or to go out and explore the great city of Lynchburg, without worrying about someone coming by unannounced to check in. It is helpful to us to know your check in/ out timeframes so we can schedule cleanings ASAP. The NeighborhoodWhat we love about our neighborhood is the L-O-C-A-T-I-O-N. My uncle’s place is located close to everything that’s anything in beautiful Lynchburg Virginia.
Liberty Univ. has a wonderful campus with many exciting sport events, theatrical performances, concerts, snow flex the Lehay ice center- all open to the public! Lynchburg has many museums, bike trails, a small lake and so much more. Randolph College has a wonderful art museum. Lynchburg College also has symphonies, concerts, plays. The Old City Cementary is a nice place to go for a walk or picnic. Visit the farmers market down town on Sat. & stop by for delicious hand made treats from "ms joy". Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest plantation is close by. The National D-Day memorial as well. If you are interested in Civil War History... VA is the place to be- Appomattox Surrender Grounds is about a 30 min drive down Rt 460 E. Monticello is in Charlottesville. The Blue Ridge Parkway is always a favorite drive, as is hiking through the many trails in Crab Tree Falls- for the more energetic hiker, there is the Appalachian Trail. Lynchburg has a couple hundred places to eat and there are plenty of box stores, malls, boutiques and shops in which to play. For those who like small aircraft there is Falwell & New London airstrips, also a small race track in New London. Each year the Lock in Fest features multiple live bands in nearby Nelson Co. Lynchburg is home to a variety of religions and there are many churches located in the community and there are many nationalities of people, culture, & food represented here as well. Lynchburg was voted one of the best place to live in 2012 & 2014, it's a great place for families, the young adult and the elderly. Lynchburg also touts a large medical community and 2 expanding hospitals, Lynchburg General Hospital & Virginia Baptist Hospital. Getting AroundMy Uncle's Place has 2 assigned parking spaces in front of the unit.
It is located on the GLTC bus line, and within I mile are Hwys Rt. 501, Rt. 29, & Rt. 460. The Amtrak Train depot is located downtown (825 Kemper st.) as is the Grey Hound bus. My Uncle's Place is only 3min from the Lynchburg airport (350 Terminal Dr.) Lynchburg airport rents vehicles should you need one for your visit. Directions from the airport- make a left turn onto Rt. 29 N business/Wards rd. Make a left at the light onto Wards Ferry Rd. Make a right into the Fountain Gate sub division (abt 2 miles). If you get to Timberlake rd. you passed Fountain Gate... turn around by making a rt turn on Timberlake then an immediate rt onto 501 S. Exit 1st rt CVCC, keep rt to Wards rd. take a rt at Harvard (notice LU is on the left) pass CVCC, then take another rt at Wards Ferry. Turn rt into Fountain Gate townhouse commuunity. Other Things to Note1. Breakfast is likely the best meal of the day. When available farm fresh eggs & sausage. will be in the fridge for you to cook. Hot cereal. Herbal tea, coffee & coco will also be available for guests to prepare.
2. We feature Keyless entry so the combination code is designated with our guests in mind and changes after each guest's visit.
3. MY UNCLE'S PLACE NOW HAS WiFi, however, in this techno savvy day & age it is important to note that we do not have a TV, computer, printer, fax or telephone. Of course we do have clock radios. If as a guest, one cannot survive life without a TV, we recommend renting a movie via Red Box to play on your laptop.
4. WE RECOMEND THAT OUR GUESTS BRING A SMART PHONE and/or A TABLET/LAPTOP. If guests should need to use a copy machine, printer, fax, etc. Central VA Community College & Liberty University are not a mile away and both have libraries in which to print.
