The SpaceThis is a friendly cabin. You can't hurt much inside. Most furniture is hand me down. The kitchen is back to basics: no dishwasher, no disposal. Yet, of all the places we've lived or stayed, it's the easiest we've ever cleaned. Something just works about it. The real reason anyone is here is the lake. Whether reading a book on a cloudy day or sunning yourself on the dock, it's all about the lake and the serenity. Early mornings on the dock when the mist floats off the lake are my favorite time. Guest AccessThere is a dock on the property where you can tie up a boat if you are trailing one. You might consider renting one if you are there for a week. It is a lovely lake and a trip around it is worth your time. Interaction with GuestsWe will communicate with you prior to your arrival, but it will be a friend who lives at the lake who will leave you a key. You can call us if you have questions. There is limited cell service at the lake, so use the cabin phone when leaving a contact number for your loved ones: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) The NeighborhoodThe lake is 8.3 miles around. Runner Magazine dubbed it the prettiest run of the summer. Bring your bikes. It's a lovely ride. And if you have a kayak or canoe, you won't regret the time it took to pack them. Paddling around the lake is a must. Getting AroundNo public transit. Other Things to NoteLimited cell service at the lake (some carriers work fine, others do not). Cabin phone is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The closest store is either in Mt. Vernon or Arlington, both about 30 minutes away. So bring your food. BBQ on site. Condiments are stocked in the cabin (ketchup, mustard, mayo, olive oil, some spices, etc) Also will always have an extra can of chili just in case, and maybe some marshmallows, too. When packing, think of camping and you will be prepared.

The SpaceYou will have a bedroom with a queen size bed, a second bedroom with a twin bed, bathroom, laundry room, kitchenette with a fridge, toaster, microwave, an induction cooktop burner (NO oven), and living room with big windows, a fireplace, television, your own private treadmill, and a pull-out sofa bed (size 'full'). You will also have access to all 10 acres of my farm, 90 acres of beautiful hiking trails right off my property, your own patio with a fire pit and Weber charcoal grill (charcoal not provided), and super easy parking right down the path from your apartment door. You will have your own private entrance, but our spaces are connected through an open-air staircase. I live upstairs and your space is in the lower level of my house. I do my very best to respect your peace and quiet, but please understand that I do live here, and sound sometimes travels up and down the stairs. However, I NEVER enter your space while you are visiting, unless of course you need something (I am always right up the steps or hanging around the farm if you need me for anything whatsoever!). Guest AccessGuests have a private entrance and can come and go at their leisure. You are welcome to tour my 10-acre property or take the path off my land onto 90 acres of hiking trails. I have goats, horses, chickens, two small & friendly dogs and a super friendly, cuddly cat. There's a pretty stream running through the back of my property just 20 feet from your apartment doorstep, and a pretty pond just over the bridge. There is also a big, beautiful pond in the front pasture. You have a private patio with your own fire pit, Weber charcoal grill (charcoal not provided) and outdoor seating area looking out over the stream and the little "island" out back. Walk the short trail right across the bridge to see the horse pasture, or relax next to the pond while you read a book. It's quiet, peaceful and private. Interaction with GuestsI'm usually here all day, working around my farm. I'm happy to help out with directions, give tours around my farm, and introduce you to all my animals. I can teach you to properly feed a horse with your bare hands, and I'm happy to introduce you to my very friendly and curious goats if you're so inclined. Come collect eggs with me in the evening, or light a fire in your private fire pit and relax while listening to the frogs sing. If you have any questions or concerns during your visit, please let me know! I'm always available via text or phone call, or you can just come find me around the farm! Is rain in the forecast? Make sure you bring jackets and boots to tour the animal enclosures! The NeighborhoodMy farm is 6 minutes off I-5 so it's easy access! HIKING There are 90 acres of hiking trails directly off my property. HORSEBACK TRAIL RIDES Mone Farms and Training Center in Snohomish has trail rides by the hour or all day, but they do require a reservation. You can learn more about them by searching 'Mone Farms Snohomish' on the web. I do not offer trail rides at the time. GOLFING My farm is 15 minutes from Kayak Point Golf Course! You can learn more about it by searching Kayak Point Golf Course on the web. Open to the public. FARMER'S MARKET Everett has a wonderful waterfront farmer's market every Sunday May- October. Search 'Everett Farmer's Market' on the web for more info. Downtown Arlington has its farmer's market on Saturdays July-September. Search Arlington Farmer's Market or their new site 'afmwa' on the web for more info. SHOPPING 6 minutes to Costco, Target, Marshalls, Best Buy and Seattle Premium Outlet Mall, Hobby Lobby, Dick's Sporting Goods and many other stores! CASINOS 6 minutes to Tulalip Casino, 11 minutes to Quilceda Creek Casino, 15 minutes to Angels of the Winds Casino and 30 minutes to Skagit Valley Casino. TULIP FESTIVAL 23 minutes to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival FALL & WINTER Wintertime isn't without its beauty here! My farm is 20 minutes from the spectacular Lights of Christmas at Warm Beach! WINERIES Lots and lots of wineries with tasting rooms within an hour of my farm. Search 'wineries Skagit County' on the web for more info. LOCAL EVENTS Lots of street fairs, art shows, farmer's markets and music festivals happening! Search 'Snohomish Events Calendar' on the web for more info on what's coming up in my area! Getting AroundGetting to my place will require a car. I am on the very end of a dead end road out in the country with no bus access nearby. Once here, there are many many shops and restaurants within a 5 minute drive. Other Things to NoteNIGHTTIME Nighttime walks and stargazing are heartily encouraged! I provide a camp lamp for your midnight stroll and cozy blankets for a quiet evening around your fire pit. There are no streetlights out here so bring your telescope and count the stars! KIDS This is a great place for kiddos! There are lots of animals to visit, ponds to play in, and lots of space outside to set up a tent if your teen wants to camp out! I have a soccer ball, a basketball, squirt guns, board games, etc. However, please keep an eye on your children at ALL TIMES as there are hot-wires, unfenced waterways, and loose animals on the farm. It is your responsibility to keep your children safe. EVENTS I've had several inquiries about hosting weddings/parties at my farm. At this time, I am not set up for large gatherings and cannot accommodate weddings or parties larger than 5 people (....7 if you're willing to do air mattresses; by special request only. Even those familiar with the beautiful state of Washington will be in awe by the splendor of the lake and surrounding area. Nature abounds and one feels almost like an intruder in the serenity of the magnificent environment. The beauty of the recently constructed, custom house is only topped by the breathtaking lake and mountain views. The spacious, custom lodge is 3000 square feet with 3 bedrooms plus a private den, and 3 bathrooms, sleeping 6 to 10 (8 adults max). It is available during the warm summer months for fun at the lake with boating, fishing and water sports (great dock with a diving board and boat moorage!) and also in the winter months for a snowy get away where you can sit by the wood burning fire indoors creating memories you won't soon forget. ABOUT THE LODGE Main Floor Walk in and notice first the wall of windows that draws you to the expansive view of peaceful Lake Cavanaugh. The custom kitchen is to the left and features an amazing walnut island with custom lighting, as well as top of the line appliances and gorgeous cabinetry. It is very well equipped with everything you will need to cook during your stay. The island features seating for 4, and the dining area is just off the kitchen with seating for 6 to 8 more. The master bedroom with a king bed is on the main floor too and has access to the deck that spans the lakeside of the house. A private bathroom featuring a large tub, limestone countertop (fossils included!) and custom tiled shower is right off this large room, complete with walk-in closet. The main living area has a beautiful wood-burning fireplace, comfortable sectional sofa and vaulted ceilings with floor to ceiling windows to highlight the water views. It is just off the kitchen and dining area and also features a large flat screen TV (because the location is remote, reception, which is great, is limited to 5 or 6 main networks) - ask for further details. The private den (or 4th bedroom) is off the living area and has a full sized sleeper sofa. It has great views of the water and double doors with shades for privacy. There is also a full bath with tub on the main floor. Downstairs Lounge around in the game room with a bar, another sectional sofa and a pool table for hours of fun! There is a gas powered fireplace for just the right ambiance. Another full bath is on this level as well as two more bedrooms, each with a queen sleigh bed and views of the lake again. You can access the lake from the downstairs area as well. OUTSIDE THE LODGE Off the main living area is a large deck spanning the house. There is outdoor dining and a gas BBQ for feasts with a view that can't be beat. Just a few easy steps lead you down to the large, sturdy dock, which is complete with diving board and ladder off the end. Moor your ski or fishing boat on the private dock during your stay. You can launch about 1/2 mile from the lodge at the public boat launch. Of course, waterskiing, jetskiiing, seadooing, wakeboarding, innertubing, kayaking, sailing and just exploring this 844 acre lake provide hours of endless fun. You'd have to bring your own watercraft, as the owner does not have any boats for guest use and there is not a place to rent them on the lake. The Lake Cavanaugh water is so clear that you won't miss the fish swimming around. If you like fishing, the season is open year round so get those trout! The main species are rainbow and cutthroat trout, with others being brook trout, largemouth bass and kokanee. The surrounding area has quad trails, hiking, and wonderful biking opportunities. The SpaceRead my profile for full details! We LOVE our lake house and know that you will too! Guest AccessYou'll have the entire cabin to yourselves! We've always called this 24 year old house on Lake Cavanaugh our "cabin", but it's really a home. It's heated by a wood burning stove upstairs and wall heaters down in the bedrooms. We'll provide you with an entrance code for the door after booking confirmation. Interaction with GuestsWe can be reached by cell phone from the cabin's land line (or your Verizon Cell phone) at any time. Feel free to try us at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) if you have questions. The NeighborhoodLake Cavanaugh is a wonderful community of home/cabin owners who enjoy walking, boating, fishing, getting together, biking etc. Many people live on the lake and others use their homes as a second home or retreat like we do. You will love the peace and tranquility of this serene and majestic setting. Check (URL HIDDEN) for a community calendar. Getting AroundThe closest place to fill up with Gasoline for your vehicle or boat is Arlington, about 30 minutes away. You can go up the other way from Oso as well. If you have Verizon cell service, you will have great coverage up at the lake, but unfortunately for some (we love it) AT&T doesn't have great service up in that area. There is a land line in the cabin and that's all you will need in case of emergency. We enjoy the time "disconnected". But you can sign-in to the wifi to get online from your mobile devices or laptops as well. Other Things to NoteThere is wood available on-site. Extra wood may be purchased for $5 a bundle. We provide a bundle per day that you pay for. That's enough for hours of heat. There is also a wall- heater on the main level, as well as downstairs in the bedrooms.
