The SpaceNo Ferry to Beautiful Camano Island Washington! 60 miles north of Seattle and 100 miles south of Vancouver BC. This is our family home- built by us and our children. We love to share it with like spirited people who want to gather as friends or family and have an eco-conscious experience. it is a great place to have a party but not a "party house" :) 3,000 SF Rustically Elegant Hand-built Timber Frame House set on a 20 acre pond wildlife sanctuary at the north end of Camano Island, WA. The Island House offers a luxuriously private gathering place for friends and family, retreat groups, workshops, and more. This gorgeous custom property sleeps up to 16 people and is surrounded by 360 degrees of forest and wetlands at the end of a private road. Outside includes 2.5 acres of both landscaped and natural habitat, a 6 person hot tub, a large fire pit, table seating for up to 20, 2 barbecues, horse shoes and nearby state parks and beaches. There are no houses within sight so you have total privacy close to all Island amenities. We rent the whole house and a 250sf dome. Currently the DOME is included for any groups of 9 or more at NO CHARGE if requested, until the end of October 2016. After October 2016, the dome is available to rent for an additional $50 a night with groups. The dome has a queen bed, a kitchenette and a half bath. The dome is a great spot for persons wanting more privacy or a family with a small child or baby. Wi-fi access is not currently available in the dome but cell phone access is and we working in it. Bring bikes, boats and outside games and enjoy the Island House as a destination spot. Guest AccessStandard check- in time is 3:00PM and check out is 12:00PM, however, we are open to being flexible when possible; please ask ahead of time and we will do what we can. Guests have full access to the property and all amenities as well as acres of woods behind the house and a 20 acre beaver pond next to the house. . Interaction with GuestsWe view the Island House as both a business and a service- an opportunity for our guests to experience what might not, otherwise be available to them. We like to greet our guests when we can but that is not always possible, so guests have access with a key code to the house without our being there. Occasionally, we might stay in the dome, but we would let guests know ahead time. There is a fence between the dome and the home so privacy is maintained. Most important to us is that staying in our home is a delightful experience for our guests . The NeighborhoodBeauty, quiet and opportunity to enjoy nature are what is so precious about our neighborhood. From our house you can walk in one direction to a quaint corner store for those immediate necessities and walk the other direction through the woods. It is a place where children can play freely and explore; a rare experience these days. Getting AroundMotorized vehicles or bikes are required to get around the island. There is very minimal bus service during the week and none on the weekend. Other Things to NoteWe are a shoes off house, whenever possible. Please bring slippers or inside shoes to honor this. We have well water and it is of high quality so don't worry about bringing bottled water. We also have a septic tank so please be conscious of what goes in the toilet. We use only enzymes in the hot tub so that your hot tub experience is healthier for your body. We ask that you shower before going into the hot tub to maximize enjoyment. Because the house is a traditional timber frame home- it is made of wood and wood is very live. Some people find it has more house noise than makes them comfortable. Please ask about this if you have any questions or concerns.
