The SpaceWhy share your space when you can have privacy? 12' x 18' solid, free standing cabin with queen-sized bed and bathroom with shower. View of Mt. Hood with breeze in the trees and babbling of Big Buck Creek down below. **Crazy weather update: lots of snow but we have a neighbor who is diligent about plowing. We highly recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles, however, we have happily shuttled guests up and down the road. We have been shoveling a path to the cabin daily so it is accessible. The view is also incredible right now with the snow on all the trees.** Room includes: --heater with wall themostat --wi-fi (works now but getting upgrade as soon as internet guy gets here!) --mini-fridge --linens, towels, and beach towels --dishes & utensils --Keurig coffee, tea, and hot chocolate --ceiling fan --bedside clock with USB dock & outlets for easy phone charging --"ThingCharger" for iPhones --access to covered grilling area and grill with side burner --maps and info on local tourist attractions and hikes --nestled between Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood; take advantage of what the mountains have to offer without having to worry about the drive home We sit on 1500' of Big Buck Creek, just a short walk down from the cabin. We are 35 miles from Mt. Hood Meadows and 25 miles Mt. Adams. Trails for hiking and skiing and waterfalls are in abundance. If you have your own kayak, you can launch north of us, enjoy a ride down the White Salmon, and pull out at Northwestern Park. Even in the winter, we have avid kayakers in abundance. NW Park is less than a 1/3 mile to the cabin. We can assist in transportation to or from launch site. Got pets? Let us know. We have free range chickens so please keep dogs leashed by the house. We have miles of trails so there are plenty of places to take your four-legged friends for a walk without leashes. Also, please keep pets off the bed. We recommend bringing some extra bedding for your pet. We do have plenty of "dog towels" for wet pets so just let us know if you would like a few. Large driveway that circles around can easily accommodate RV's, campers, and horse trailers. You can pull up and park nose-in in front of the garage (between the flags). The Guest Suite is 20' down the hill and 150' to the right of the grilling area. If you arrive when we are not home, the door will be unlocked and there is a Welcome Sheet on the back of the door. Make yourself at home. Guest AccessGrilling area, trail down to Big Buck Creek Interaction with GuestsWe love to meet the Guests at check-in otherwise we "wing" it. We've had a few guests join us on the deck for a drink & good conversation (super fun), but we like to respect the Guest's privacy. The cabin is separate from the house so it allows Guests to come & go at their leisure. The NeighborhoodPrivate but not isolated Getting AroundPublic transit in the Gorge is anything self-propelled (biking, jogging, kayaking, etc). :) There are limited taxis. Bingen train station is six miles from our house, and we can possibly pick you up/drop off if arranged ahead of time. Other Things to NoteYou may be greeted by "Phoebe," a 3 year old dottie-lab mix. Sometimes her greeting is a little loud, but she is harmless, will greet you, and then leave you alone. For guests with dogs, please be aware that we have 2 free range chickens, a rabbit, and 2 horses.

The SpaceAlthough this listing says private room and airbed, it is actually for an awesome camping spot! You supply your own tent, but we do have two cots you can use... just let us know. Find your very own spot anywhere in our orchard. Enjoy the peace and solitude, as we only book one camping spot a night. This is timber country, so you may occasionally be greeted by logging trucks driving by. Stay out among the trees, or retreat from the sun into the coolness of our old farmhouse. Enjoy a glass of wine on the porch or from the hot tub. Use our kitchen to cook up a tasty meal. Outside, you'll have close access to a rustic composting toilet. Or come inside for full bathroom facilities. Kids under 12 are no extra. Please Note: - farmhouse is typically open from 8am - 10pm. If your day is starting earlier, just let us know and we will gladly open up! - we do have dogs. Despite our efforts, you may find occasional fuzzballs floating around the house. Guest Access- our farm is your farm. Our mini donkeys, pigs, chickens, and pear trees love attention! - our kitchen is your kitchen - our living space is your living space. Use our living room, dining room, and porch as you'd like (we may or may not be home to enjoy them with you) Interaction with GuestsOur work schedules are very irregular. During your stay, it's hard to say how much we'll be around. The NeighborhoodWe are 3 miles north of "downtown" White Salmon/Bingen, right across the Columbia River from Hood River, OR, and a very close drive to Mt Hood and Mt Adams. We love our Gorge and all it has to offer. Getting AroundFor most people, a car is a must. Amtrak does stop in Bingen. And, ambitious souls do frequently bike from downtown White Salmon (we've had a few campers do it!) Other Things to NoteThis is an active family home, which we love sharing with travelers. Both of us work outside the home, so best not to expect a very refined property, as most things here are still a work-in-progress.

The SpaceOur getaway cabin is a few miles from White Salmon, which is just across the river from Hood River, OR. It feels remote, but it's really not that far out into the wilderness. The house sits on 5 acres and is adjacent to 190 acres of Paper Company wooded space. Walk around the grounds in the summer and you'll see that it was once a vineyard. The cabin is newer, clean, and cozy, with 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath upstairs, and a half bath and open kitchen/living area downstairs. There's a small hot tub on the patio that also has the amazing view of Mt. Hood you see in the photos. 1 Bedroom has a King bed and set of twins (sleeps 4), plus TV/DVD player. 2nd Bedroom has 2 Queen beds (sleeps 2-4). There are heated concrete floors downstairs, and bedroom heating units upstairs. Stays warm and comfy in the winter. Sorry, no central air conditioning, although we do have a window unit in each bedroom and a portable AC in the living room. It helps, but isn't perfect on really hot days. Luckily it usually cools off in the evenings. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, wine glasses, pots and pans. There is a coffee maker, coffee grinder, a blender, a griddle, a food processor (in garage), toaster, and a gas grill. You're welcome to use any spices and condiments you find, just let us know if we're running low on something. No guarantees on any specific items, though salt and pepper is a given. Although the house could officially sleep up to 8, that number is best with a couple of families. If you would like to have more than the max of 7 as listed, just ask! Note that we use this cabin often and have personal items there. It's very clean and there's plenty of space for you and your things, but it's not totally empty. Inside we have board games, and lawn games for outside. Many guests never leave the property all weekend! Guest AccessThe whole house is yours and it is very private, no other houses are close. We will send you an email with the key code prior to your arrival. Interaction with GuestsWe will communicate with you via email and give you directions, key code, etc. before your arrival. The NeighborhoodThe cabin is just a few miles from White Salmon, which is across the river from Hood River, OR. It takes about 8-10 minutes to get to the house from "downtown" White Salmon, or about 15 minutes from Hood River. Things to do in the area: Hiking in the gorge--there are books and maps at the house that you are welcome to use. We love Catherine Creek, the longer trails are on the far side of the river and are beautiful...this area is on the way to Lyle. Wine tasting--our favorites in WA are Syncline (25 minutes away), Domaine Pouillon, and Aniche, but there are a number of great ones near Lyle, WA, or across in Hood River (Marchesi is wonderful). The town of White Salmon has a small but nice "Harvest Market" grocery store, a nice new brewpub called "Everybody's Brewing", Pioneer Pizza, and a coffee shop. Henni's is a great restaurant in downtown White Salmon that is a bit more upscale than the brewpub and they have excellent happy hour. The small Deli/market called "Feast" has organic food and excellent sandwiches to go. Check out the local consignment jewelry/craft store in town. It's surprisingly cool, though it doesn't look like it from the outside. The jewelrymaker designed the pendants for the movie "Twilight" and can show them to you. Getting AroundThe driveway is gravel and up a hill. Any car can make it up in the summer, but in winter, all-wheel-drive recommended. Other Things to NoteThere is a nice BBQ grill, and TV (but no cable...only movies via Amazon, Pandora, etc. or bring your own.) It's not the fastest internet connection, so if you're planning a movie night, you might want to bring some DVD's. Please bring your own towels for hot tub. We charge a low cleaning fee and don't want to do a ton of laundry. Bringing your own towels for showers would be even better! Note that the hot tub is smallish, great for a few people, but not a large group.

The stereo accommodates cassettes (for which we have an eclectic supply) and CDs, but does not have Blue-Tooth, USB ports, or a dock for iPhones or iPads. Rustic Lived-In Feeling: This peaceful, rustic cabin is definitely not the Taj Mahal in the trees or a tony resort. However, if you are looking for a place with that comfy, lived-in feeling where you can unplug, relax and enjoy nature, this is the place for you. Lothlorien Woods Tree House is more than 40 years old (built originally by a couple who raised their family in the tree house), predating the current tree house rage. The Tree House complements (rather than dominating) the surrounding forest and landscape. Entering our Tree House is a step back in time to a simpler time and place. Children: All ages welcome with some cautions - Please advise ages of children. Dogs: Most dogs welcome. Some restrictions and cautions apply. Our Big, Loving Farm Dog Bruiser lives on the farm and welcomes guests, happily providing hiking companionship if desired. Bruiser can be a bit of a beggar, but goes home when told. Pets: There is a $25.00 + 7% tax Pet Fee due at check in. Or, we can modify your reservation to pay in advance. We allow well-behaved dogs only and require that dogs not be allowed on the furniture or beds. We do have a big, loving farm dog (Bruiser). But if guests are unsure whether their dog plays nice with strange dogs, let us know in advance so arrangements can be made for Bruiser. Communications and Technology: There is only sporadic cell-phone access on the property and internet is not provided. The stereo accommodates cassettes (for which we have an eclectic supply) and CDs, but does not have Blue-Tooth, USB ports, or a dock for iPhones or iPads.Rustic Lived-In Feeling: This peaceful, rustic cabin is definitely not the Taj Mahal in the trees or a tony resort. Only a short drive (80 miles) from Portland, Oregon, Lothlorien Woods Tree House Hide-A-Way is nestled in the towering firs in the foothills of majestic, glaciered, and snow-covered Mt. Adams -- the only snow-covered, volcanic peak in the northern Cascade Range which is entirely within a Native American wilderness area and on which no commercial ski-resorts have been or will be constructed. On clear days filtered views of Mt. Adams can be had from the kitchen and from the barbecue deck of the treehouse. The Native American Yakamas, for whom Mt. Adams holds great spiritual significance, graciously make Tract D of the their land available to non-natives to experience the awe and wonder of the natural world. Bird Creek Meadows (accessible from May to October) is one of the most spectacularly beautiful high-mountain wild-flower meadows in the world -- At the top of Bird Creek meadows is one of the world's few double (side-by-side) waterfalls gushing off Mazama (formerly Hells Roaring) Glacier into the depths of Hells-Roaring Canyon hundreds of feet below. A hike up Hells Roaring Creek from below along game trails takes you past miniature wild-flower meadows and small tarns. During mid-week hikes, hikers often encounter few, if any, other hikers and often have the meadows or the Canyon to themselves... Lothlorien Woods is only a short drive west to the rippling white water of the White Salmon river and the white-water rafting, kayaking, and swimming of this glacier fed wild and scenic river. A trip to the White Salmon may not be complete without venturing to the quaint village of Trout Lake and the treat of a wild-crafted mountain huckleberry slice of pie with ice-cream or a delicious huckleberry milk shake. Just a little further away, to the east of Lothlorien Woods, is the Klickitat River which is one of America's most beautiful Wild and Scenic Rivers. As with the White Salmon River, river sport activities abound. In addition to rafting, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming the Klickitat is renowned for it's fishing and fishery resources. Local drift boating and fishing guides are available for hire -- however, we do request that fist be cleaned "before" returning to Lothlorien Woods Tree House Hide-A-Way -- we do not allow fish or game to be cleaned or butchered on premises. Waterfalls permeate the landscape. In addition to the glacially fed waterfalls and the waterfalls on both the White Salmon and Klickitat Rivers, the Columbia River Gorge is a Waterfall Lover's Nirvana. You can book-end your days with essence of water - spending days hiking, boating, fishing while returning to the quiet of your very own hot-tub to relax and recover from a day's adventure. Whichever direction you go from Lothlorien Woods, or whether you choose to bask and relax in the serenity of the Tree House and its environment, your days will be full and your spirit invigorated with the wonder of one of Planet Earth's truly special natural splendors.

The SpaceOur 850 square foot cabin in the woods is cozy but very open. The main floor has one bedroom (queen bed), full bath (+ washer/dryer), kitchen, wood stove and couch (pulls out to a full size bed). The loft (access by ladder) is furnished with a full size bed and a big comfy chair that is perfect for curling up with a good book. You pass through the main bedroom to get to the bathroom so our cabin is probably best for families or close friends :-). Our kitchen is stocked with all the tools you need to make delicious meals or enjoy the gas grill on the front deck. We love our vintage 1950s stove (she's old so please treat her nicely). We have a full size fridge and farmhouse sink. We do not have WiFi but the cabin receives most cell service. The cabin comes stocked with plenty of firewood. The cabin does not have A/C (most of the cabins in the area do not) and it can get warm in the summer months. We have several fans that cool the place down and the breeze from the river is pleasant in the evening. Guest AccessOur cabin sits in a private setting but is among five other small cabins. It's a special spot and we love our neighbors. It's important that guests respect the peace and quiet that we all love in our cabin community. Our cabin is best suited for folks who want to relax, unplug, and listen to the river. If you are looking for a party cabin this is not the place. Interaction with GuestsWe are a phone call away but will not be nearby during your stay. The NeighborhoodIf you enjoy the rushing sounds of a Wild & Scenic River then our cabin will be heaven. Our cabin was once on the banks of Northwestern Lake which was drained after the removal of Condit Dam in 2011. The former lakebed, outside our front windows, has been transformed into a meadow and is gradually returning with native grasses and plants. Out the front door are also riverside hiking trails as well as the kayak/raft take out at Northwestern Park. In the spring/summer there's nothing more thrilling than a raft trip with one of the outfitters in Husum or BZ Corner just a few miles up the road (we are partial to Wet Planet but they are all great). Trout Lake is 25 minutes away and is the gateway to Mt. Adams and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest (much less crowded than Mt. Hood). We are within easy driving distance to so much that makes the Columbia River Gorge a stunning vacation destination: wineries, breweries, cideries, waterfall and wildflower hikes, bald eagle watching, winter sports, windsurfing, and meandering on some of the countries most beautiful back roads. Getting AroundWe are about 12 minutes from downtown White Salmon which is a lovely little mountain town with drop dead views of Mt. Hood and some great dining options (Everybody's Brewing, White Salmon Baking Co., Pioneer Pizza, and Feast). In the Summer, stop by Ringleman's Orchards just down the road for incredible berries, peaches, nectarines, apples, and pears. We have a very good grocery store--Harvest Market-- which is well stocked (plenty of local ingredients and everything else too). Downtown Hood River is about 15 minutes away. Other Things to NoteOur cabin comes with one parking spot. Please park directly in front of the cabin and no where else. We have two hound dogs but we try our very best to limit the amount of fur in our lives. Let us know if you plan to bring your dog. Also, please use the sheets we provide to cover the couch if dogs are sitting with you. We have two dogs beds that can be used on the floors.

The SpaceThis beautiful slice of the Columbia Gorge is in a secluded and rustic setting. Currently, there is a camp shower and a honey pot for a toilet. The only lighting at night is from the moon and stars (i.e. there is no electricity). We do, however, provide a full grill for cooking, drinking water, and comfortable beds and lounge areas. Our beds are made from natural materials that won't off-gas (made of cotton and wool), and bedding is either a 100% wool comforter with organic cotton shell, or a lighter down comforter. We use edible ingredients for cleaning (vinegar, TG essential oils, etc). We will provide you with biodegradable soaps for washing. Well behaved pets are welcome, though bear in mind we are located in a remote area surrounded by nature with wild beasts about - so small pets should be watched carefully. Also, even though we are in the Pacific Northwest, it is very dry here in the summer, and campfires are banned by law. Although our location is wild and remote, we are only a 15 minute drive to downtown White Salmon, where you can find restaurants, grocery stores, and supplies. We ask that you keep food in a cooler in your vehicle to reduce bear traffic and for your safety. We also recommend bringing flashlights and headlamps. There are two tipis located on our farm, but they are secluded from one another so you will feel as if you have the place to yourself. The road here is bumpy and not suitable for vehicles with low suspension. We look forward to meeting you! Guest AccessBring your mountain bikes or your hiking shoes. Or book a horseback riding trip with Northwestern Riding Stables, or a rafting trip with any of our amazing outfitters on the White Salmon River. There are so many trails and waterfalls to explore! We also have wonderful wineries, breweries and cideries throughout the gorge. The wild flower hikes on Mt Adams in the summer time are unbeatable. Or you may just choose to stay on the farm and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It's a true paradise. Interaction with GuestsI love showing off the Columbia River Gorge, and am happy to make recommendations for things to do and see in the area. The Neighborhood15 minute drive to White Salmon, WA. Or cross the bridge (another 5 minutes drive) to Hood River, OR. We are approximately 1.25 hours from Portland. Other Things to NoteThe biggest things to note are the following: 1. Fire danger is always a concern in our neck of the woods, so please be responsible. Do not park vehicles in the grass, and absolutely no campfires. 2. We have bears, mountain lions, mountain goats, etc grace our farm. Please be cautious and respectful to all of nature's creatures. We provide bear proof trash cans. Food should be kept in vehicles. 3. Again, this is rustic. There are no smooth walking paths or lighting. Please be capable of walking on uneven terrain.

The Neighborhoodmany secluded cabins here, with great neighbors. other cabin owners and their guests will sometimes walk by on paths, as the whole area is open to community access. Getting Around10 minutes from downtown white salmon, fifteen minutes to Hood River. Other Things to NoteThis Cabin has a short path to a great little beach, that gives access to the river. This beach serves as a personal put-in to the lower-lower section of the white salmon river, or a takeout for the lower section. There is a wood stove, but due to damages done in the past and insurance costs, it can not be used by guests. This cabin comes with an environmentally friendly composting toilet. works great, no odors, simple to use. No sink in the bathroom, but a beautiful shower and tub, and plenty of counter space. Internet is available, though a little slow at times.

The SpaceWe are tucked in the woods, only 12 miles from Hood River. You will be surrounded by wildlife as well as domesticated animals. Our yurt offers you a Glamping (glamorous camping) experience. We hope you will find just what you need to be comfortable. Winter months do not allow shower or water amenities. February- October, bring shower shoes and a robe for outdoor shower!! If you book in the winter, please be advised we are not sure how 'winterized' we can be. We are still figuring this out and this will be our first winter. Keep in mind that this is still considered camping. Although comfortable, please don't expect it to have all the luxuries of a home. Bring some cozy slippers to keep your feet warm as we prefer to minimize the impact by leaving shoes at the door. It is like dry camping during the winter. Bring your own water or jugs to fill and haul like you would at any dry camp site. Guest AccessYou have access to an outdoor shower/toilet, however it is still a work in progress, and not available for showering in the winter months. We know that now is the time guests want to be in the Columbia Gorge so we want to open our yurt to you. You will need to be physically fit enough to walk down and up a moderate to steep hill for 500 feet. Water is a limited resource that must be hauled to site so we ask guests to be conservative with their usage. Please be advised that the winter months limit the use of the shower due to freezing. It is an outdoor structure exposed to the elements. Guests are responsible for firewood to heat the yurt. You will need all-wheel-drive to reach our location during inclement weather and winter conditions. You will also need boots to walk down the 500 foot path to the Yurt. This is definitely a winter wonderland during the month of November, December, January. We are close to cross country ski areas. Interaction with GuestsI will help at check in and out as well as be available to answer any questions you may have. The NeighborhoodYou can howl and scream as loud as you want!! We live in the woods. Some would say in the Deepwoods! It's a dirt road to our house and although the county does care for it during winter months, you will need AWD to even make it up our driveway. We have a great proximity to Mount Adams. There are plenty of trails and fun winter sports to do up there including cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Please be advised, we cannot offer you a warm shower during winter months. You need to be OK with roughing it a little bit :-) also, we are parents to two very small children. Out of respect for their bedtimes as well as the neighborhood we ask that guests arrive during daylight hours. If this is not possible, we ask that you arrive before 8 PM. We will not be able to assist you past that hour for your arrival. The area is too challenging for you to navigate on your own in the late night. Getting AroundYou must be willing to walk down and up a rather steep 500ft hill. A car is necessary to reach our home and to bring you to and from other local destinations. Winter months will likely require all wheel drive just to make it to our house. You will not be able to drive down to the structure. It is also preferred that you arrive during daylight hours during winter months. Other Things to NoteAgain, I want to express that our yurt it is a work in progress. We believe it to have all of the comforts that one would need but are continually adding more. Our bathroom structure is finally finished!! However, being that it is outdoors, freezing temperatures will not allow the shower to function properly. Think of the experience here as a step above dry camping. Bring food for simple camp style cooking or to bbq outside. Grill provided but you need to bring charcoal. Headlamps, slippers, shower shoes, maybe a robe for walking too and from bathroom/shower are all good items to consider. Now that the winter months are upon us, it can get a bit chilly at night. If you would like to use the wood burning stove to keep yourself cozy, we ask that you bring your own fully cured firewood. In the winter it is dry camping- you will need to bring your own water or jugs to fill up at the main house. Wood and water are our precious commodities! Winter reservations will be without shower. We will not be able to offer other water commodities during freezing temperatures. This is still considered a primitive living style.
