I have lived in the Seattle area for the last 25 years and have been in my home for 10 years now. My lab mix Roman and I live in a comfortable 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home located in a safe and friendly neighborhood. The home has very easy access to major freeways and transit center. If you are renting a car, there is street parking in front of the house. Roman and I like the simple pleasures in life; good food, good friends and good conversations. I'm happy to point out some things to do or see that may be of interest to you during your stay here.

Lower level of Olympic View Home offers serenity and views overlooking the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains and your very own hot tub just outside your door. NOTE: Stepping stone entry with steps can be difficult with rolling luggage, walkers or wheelchairs. Perched perfectly above beautiful, quaint Edmonds, WA, an adorable waterfront village just 20 minutes north of Seattle. We're at the north end of the 'bowl' of Edmonds which gently hugs downtown's Main Street and waterfront connecting you to the Olympic Peninsula on the Kingston ferry, or Amtrak train station, or scuba diving and beach access, all within a mile and a half from the house. Olympic View is just above, an easy 1.5 miles up the hill. A hot tub outside on the patio provides a beautiful, serene view of the water and back yard splendor. This unique space is a private lower level of an Executive view home overlooking the Puget Sound, neighboring islands and the Olympic Mountain range. If the patio and beautiful garden setting and grounds don't take you on a mini-vacation, then perhaps the hot tub or treed walking areas are more your style. This calming space has one 'view' bedroom. There is an optional 'office/desk' room that includes a twin day bed. The kitchen is stocked with basics, dining area seats 6 and bathroom are all within the unit. Washer and dryer are on the same level in a semi-shared area (w/owner's freezer and wine room). This is a calm, well-appointed home-away-from-home -- very private looking out to the yard and view beyond. Stay a week or stay a month, you'll love it either way… For those who are visiting for business purposes on the Eastside or Seattle, or in between, you'll love this centralized private paradise location where you can work from home with full sized office/desk set up and Wi-Fi or easily get to the office or to meetings, whether north or east of Seattle. Then, come 'home' to relax in the hot tub at night, or just contemplate your day on the patio watching a gorgeous sunset. You'll love the Zen feel of this space as an escape, a business trip or just a comfortable landing to explore our Northwest's fabulous adventures. San Juan Islands, Whidbey Island, LaConner, the Olympic Peninsula, Hoh Rain forest, Vancouver B.C. Whistler, Snoqualmie or Steven's ski resorts, Woodinville wineries, and multiple other discoveries north, south, east and west -- all within a couple hours' drive, train or ferry ride. The cleaning fee is per stay (under a month). For guests staying longer than one month, a monthly cleaning is required and an additional $75 per month fee will be charged. The Deposit is fully refundable with a clean and undamaged stay. We have yet to keep a deposit :) This home is surrounded by lush trees and gardens on the north hill of an area described as the Edmonds bowl. The entry to the lower level of the home is located on the north side of the home, through a gate, down a side entrance of several stepping stones and steps. It's well lit at night by automatic motion detection lights. It's in a very nice neighborhood with high end homes and views of the water and mountains. Trails and sidewalks available for walking, look out points and parks all nearby. Edmonds is a seaside town located on the Puget Sound. The town is as cute as they come, with lots of shops, restaurants and charm. It's great for people-watching, or as a hub to visit the neighboring area. Right downtown on the waterfront you'll find a ferry to Kingston, gateway to the Olympic Peninsula, the train station where you can hop Amtrak for a trek North toward Canada, and South to Portland and all points beyond.

The SpaceStudio guest home with a Queen Bed in the main room, as well as two full beds in the small side rooms aka "sleeping caves" which are great for children, or as a dark quiet place to sleep deeply. Kitchenette with dishes and utensils available including a Nespresso Coffeemaker and provided coffee/espresso capsules. Flat-screen TV with Comcast Xfinity cable including HBO. Speaker system with Aux input cable so you listen to music from your smart phone. Relax directly outside the door on the elevated patio and enjoy the best views on the property. Enjoy the firepit and watch the sunset or enjoy a meal in the courtyard area. Guest AccessParking available on my driveway in the gravel area. Guests may use the full guest house and the courtyard & deck with fireplace and patio table between the guest house and the main house (as pictured). Interaction with GuestsI'll be available as needed through text/call (and will be next-door when I'm home). The NeighborhoodThis neighborhood is known as "Picnic Point Park" or "Wind & Tides" neighborhood, and features of the most breathtaking views in the Pacific Northwest. Picnic Point Park which is adjacent to my home, has a pedestrian walkway over the train tracks to a large stretch of beach, excellent for taking walks. Going in the opposite direction from my house, you have access to a half-mile-long stretch of road with panoramic views which dead-ends so it has no through-traffic. Getting AroundMy place is not suitable for using public transportation alone - you'll need a car! Other Things to NoteThere are train tracks near my house and there are usually trains passing by the property periodically during the day and night. Please keep this in mind if you are a sensitive or light sleeper. Individually packed ear plugs are provided in the guest house and it helps to close the windows at night. Some of the trains are passenger trains which pass quickly and some are long cargo trains with squeaky wheels. The guest house is located directly above the garage, so you will hear the garage doors open and close when I come and go. Sometimes I get home late so please be aware of this possibility and consider it when booking. The side rooms which I call "sleeping caves" are quite small, just like in the pictures. Please be aware the ceilings are low so you can't stand up in them. They are great for kids, or for adults who want to have a deep sleep without sound or light intrusion.

Guests could also enjoy the water view front and center from the comfort of electric recliners in the family room. Guest bedroom has an exterior slider door that gives you access to the sundeck and your car. Interaction with GuestsI am generally home all day. I could be in my office working or I could be in my wood shop building furniture. Or I could be hanging around my chicken coop in the back or fiddling around my hydroponic garden. Or I could be smoking my Alaskan caught salmon or making venison jerky from my hunting trip. Or I could be out biking along the coast and taking in the sea air. Anytime you see me, I would be happy to help you pick out attractions that I often take my friends and family to. For example, the world's largest building by volume is the Boeing Dreamliner assembly plant, only 7 miles from my house. They offer public tours. Every child needs to see massive airplanes being assembled side by side like this as it may spark some primal interests to be engineers :-) Pikes Market and the Space Needle in Downtown Seattle are 18 miles from the home. Seattle Seafair Festival, Seattle Seahawks NFL games, Tulalip Festivals are all conveniently nearby. Downtown Edmonds featuring quaint shops, eateries, completely walking friendly, and a ferry that takes you across the Puget Sound is only 4.8 miles from my house. The ferry leaves about every 40 minutes and takes 20 minutes to cross the Puget Sound. The ferry accepts foot traffic and makes for a nice romantic trip across the Puget Sound, have dinner in Kingston, sight-see, then return to Edmonds. The whole trip does not require a car. If you want to go downtown Seattle, then you can take the train from downtown Edmonds to downtown Seattle. After buying your ticket for $3.50, you literally stand on a train platform waiting for your train to arrive, just like you see in the movies (after all, Edmonds is a small coastal town). It is the quickest, and hippest way to get to downtown Seattle and avoid the hassles of traffic, exorbitant parking price, and frustration. Swedish Hospital of Edmonds is 3.5 miles from the home. Families needing a place to stay while visiting relatives in nearby hospitals, such as Hutchinson, Virginia Mason, Seattle Children's Hospital, University of Washington Medical Center are conveniently located. Vancouver, Canada is 90 minutes from home. Makes a great day trip. Remember to bring your current U.S. passport. If you want to be left alone, we will honor your desire for privacy. But if you see me doing my things and want to participate, I would welcome it. We presume that our guests want more privacy than interactions, so we will schedule family events and parties outside of your stays. But if we somehow mis-schedule and you don't mind the party, then we invite you to join in on the family event. Our photos show that we entertain friends and family. This is not to say we do this frequently, now that our two eldest children are grown and have moved out. Our house is quieter now, thus our sharing of the home with you. The NeighborhoodAcross the street is a beautiful waterfront park featuring rock climbing wall for kids of all ages. Climb on top the rock wall and slide down the curved loopy slide. Your children would love the swings, slide, monkey bars, telescopes, benches, and picnic tables scattered throughout the park. The end of the street is a dead-end to vehicular traffic. The end of the road is a five-minute walk to the Meadowdale Beach Park for foot traffic only. The neighborhood is very children-friendly with beach, water, walking, hiking, ferry, and touring access very nearby. Getting AroundYou can use Uber to take you on short trips like to Everett Boeing Plant, Downtown Seattle, or downtown Edmonds. Uber cars are usually within 7-minute availability to the house. There's plenty of parking at our house. If you want to take a day trip to Vancouver, Canada, or Richmond (Chinatown) Canada, then don't forget to bring your passports. Other Things to NoteThere is a train that runs in front of the house along the water. It carries cargo from Vancouver BC Canada, to Mexico, passing in front of our home. You will not know the train is nearby as they do not toot the horn unless they see somethings on the tracks (may be once a year). Sometimes you will see an airplane part (wing, tail section, cockpit,...) being carried on the train as Boeing does ship parts between its northern and southern plants in the area. Most of the time it is Amtrak, commuter, or Burlington Northern operating the trains. Edmonds Marina (4.8 miles from the house) has fishing charters. Everett Boeing plant is 8 miles from us. Microsoft Redmond campus is 24 miles from the house. The Canadian Border is 98 miles (1 hour 30 minutes) from the house. If you are taking the Alaskan Cruises (Princess, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Carnival, ...), you can have a vehicle pick you up from the house, drop you off at the cruise ship. We would be happy to store your excess luggage while you are on the cruise and have it ready for you upon your return free of charge if you intend to come back to our home. SeaTac Airport is 32 miles from our home. Without traffic it takes about 40 minutes. You can also take the ferry to the Victoria Island, Canada, by driving to a nearby international ferry port (Port Angeles or Anacortes) and crossing to Canadian waters.

The SpaceKing-size bed in downstairs private bedroom with attached bathroom. The private guest room has it's own entrance, so you'll have your own private section of the house and won't have access to the rest of the home. Nespresso Coffeemaker and provided coffee/espresso capsules. Flat-screen TV with Comcast Xfinity cable including HBO. Mini speaker with Aux input cable so you listen to music off your smart phone. Feel free to enjoy the views from the courtyard, or walk down to the beach (Picnic Point Park). Guest AccessYou can park in front of the right-side (as you pull in) garage door. You have access to your bedroom / bathroom (not the rest of the home), and the courtyard which is between the main house and the guest house. Note: there may be other Airbnb guests in the guest house that also have access to the courtyard. Interaction with GuestsIf possible I'll greet you if I'm available, otherwise you'll be able to let yourself into the private room and make yourself at home. I'll be available for text / phone if you have questions and will respect your privacy. Going in the opposite direction from my house, you have access to a mile-long stretch of road with panoramic views which dead-ends so it has no through-traffic. Other Things to NoteThere are train tracks near my house and the trains go by periodically throughout the day and night. Individually packed ear plugs are provided in the room and recommended if you are a sensitive sleeper.

The SpaceA beautiful bedroom located in a brand new house that was built in 2013. The house has 2,300 sq. ft and tastefully decorated in a modern look. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the gorgeous kitchen with granite countertops and grand open floor plan. A private room in a beautiful brand new modern home. The house sits right on a green belt away from the hustle and bustle of cars and traffic. The room is tastefully decorated in a modern Paris theme. The location is great if you're traveling from Paine Field as that's about a 5 minute drive from the house. If you're looking to go to Seattle, the bus line is located 5 minutes from the house. The bus ride is about 25 minutes to Seattle. I'm pretty flexible about checking in and out times. A passcode will be provided to access the house through a keypad. To unlock the door, press the SCHLAGE button and enter your unique passcode. When leaving the house, press the SCHLAGE button and the door will close. The room is also under lock and key. There is an ADT alarm to the house so a temporary access code will be provided while you stay here. Don't worry, the code is changed with every guest. I work the night shift at Seattle Children's Hospital. What that means is that I'm asleep during the day but not to worry my brother is available to help. On my days off I make myself available and I'm pretty flexible with guests. If you're up for it there is a huge 72 inch TV to watch in the living room and a gorgeous kitchen to make some food. The house is located in a great neighborhood that's close to a lot of things. Safeway grocery store is 2 minutes away by car or bus. There is a bus line right off the street. Starbucks is also in the same complex of Safeway along with a teriyaki, burrito, pizza, and burger place. I truly love the location because it's so convenient to so many stores. The best way to find where you're going is to use the Moovit app. You can also plan your trip using the website (URL HIDDEN) The 119 bus is right off of 148th St that you can catch. You can also walk to highway 99 and grab the 101 bus that takes you Aurora Village Transit Center and from there you'll take a bus directly to Seattle. Nearby fun things to do include: Mukilteo Lighthouse beach, Meadowdale Park & Hike, Flight Museum, Edmonds beach, Alderwood Mall, and much more. If I'm available I can also take you around locally so that you can get your bearings. Guests will be provided two things; a temporary access code to the alarm system and a key to the house. I like to be present when you arrive so that I can give you a tour of the place. In the unlikely situation that I'm not at home, a full set of instructions are provided to guests in a organized booklet. Interactions with guests are really up to the guest. I'm more than happy to sit and chat and give you recommendations of where to go. It's really what you want. I'm flexible. The house is located in a beautiful neighborhood and the house itself is tucked away next to the greenbelt. The neighborhood is very quiet with very little traffic. There are no bright lights from the street to distract you when you're sleeping. The overall noise level is amazing. It's one of the reasons why I really like living here. If you have specific sleeping conditions that you like please bring with you the things that will help. We can only do so much to accommodate everyone's sleeping habits. Other Things to NoteThere may be other guests during your stay. We rent out another room as well through AirB&B. It should not be an issue since they are separate and the other room is only has one or two guests at any given time. Sea-Tac Airport is 26 miles, approximately a 45 minute drive. To Guests with Limited Mobility - The Lake House has one step to enter. If you have limited mobility, there are two bedrooms on the main level. You’ll probably want a car to stay here if you’re on a schedule. The bus line is only 2 blocks away, which whisks you to the new Light Rail Orange Line within a few miles, and so you are probably 30-45 minutes or more away from downtown Seattle by bus + light rail. Car commutes are 20-45 minutes to much of Seattle and Bellevue (depending on time of day.) Note: Our goal is to make your stay as fun and comfortable as possible. However, we ask you respect the quiet enjoyment of the lake. If you are looking for a venue to have loud and boisterous parties, the Lake House will not be a fit for you. No pets & no smoking, please. Sorry: no exceptions to our pet & smoking policy. Guests with allergies can be assured your Suite has been pet and smoke free.

Then feel free to park anywhere in the turnout, pulling forward behind any other cars that might be there. Entrance is through the French doors on the grassy and lower deck level. Guests will be given custom digital door access codes of their choice to enter the house. The door remains locked and will need the combination to re-enter. The NeighborhoodThis neighborhood is known as "Picnic Point" or "Windandtide" and features one of the most breathtaking views in the Pacific Northwest. Picnic Point Park is nearby which has a pedestrian walkway over the train tracks to a large stretch of beach as well as a grassy area with BBQs for family gatherings. Getting AroundYou can use Uber (usually within 7 minute availability to the house) to take you on short trips in the area. If you want to take a day trip to Vancouver, Canada (98 miles from the house), or an overnighter to beautiful Victoria on the Clipper from downtown Seattle, don't forget to bring your passports. Places of interest: Everett Boeing Plant - the world's largest building by volume is the Boeing Dreamliner assembly plant, only 8 miles from the house. They offer public tours. Mukilteo Lighthouse and Park - a great family destination with a large park and beach area to explore (8 miles from the house). You can also take your car on the ferry to Clinton for a day trip up Whidbey Island to Oak Harbor, Deception Pass and Anacortes - gateway of the San Juan Islands. Downtown Seattle - Pikes Place Market and the Space Needle are 18 miles from the home. Instead of driving, you can also take the train directly from downtown Edmonds - quick and fun! Downtown Edmonds - features quaint shops, eateries, completely walking friendly, and a ferry that takes you across the Puget Sound is only 5 miles from my house. The ferry leaves about every 40 minutes and takes 20 minutes to cross the Puget Sound. The ferry accepts foot traffic and makes for a nice romantic trip across the Puget Sound, have dinner in Kingston, sight-see, then return to Edmonds. If you are taking the Alaskan Cruise, you can have a vehicle pick you up from the house and drop you off at the cruise ship. We would be happy to store any excess luggage while you are on the cruise and have it ready for you upon your return free of charge if you intend to come back to the house. Other Things to NoteWith the BNSF tracks passing between the lake and the Sound, train enthusiasts can enjoy the Sounder, Amtrak, Boeing and a variety of passenger and freight trains that pass by periodically during the day and night. Although the sound isn't very loud inside the room, please keep this in mind if you are a sensitive or light sleeper. Also, the home is on a septic system, so please place all garbage and food scraps in the trash under the kitchen sink and dispose of all feminine products in the trash can provided for that purpose in the bathroom.
