A getaway cabin on the North fork of the Nooksack river. 2 room Log Cabin on the North fork of the Nooksack river. 35 miles to the Mt. Baker ski area. Totally secluded on approximately 150 acres of private forest land with lots of trails along the river and through the forest. Pick mushrooms, watch salmon in the creek, lots of Eagles and birds to watch. Take a stroll down to Racehorse creek, Hike up to the waterfalls, or play in the large pools in the summer. Share fruits and vegetables from our large gardens and orchards (in season). Extremely quiet and private. The cabin accommodates 2 people comfortably We are off grid and rely on solar power and batteries for electricity. The cabin does have lights and an outlet for small electronic devices, but please don't bring hair dryers, electric coffee pots, etc. The cabin has a 3 burner cook top, a small refrigerator, and all the dishes and utensils you might need. Great fishing area. Contact us for reservations or more information. We take Paypal. We rent the cabin for those people who need a few nights to relax and unwind from the stress's of the outside world. We do not do long term rentals.No motorcycles, ORV's or guns, please. There is a $20 cleaning fee for less than 2 nights.

The SpaceComfortable NW style home on 12 acres. Close to Silver Lake, Mt. Baker (the ski lodge is 30 miles) and the Canadian Border, yet only 22 miles from Bellingham. The ranch is a favorite stop of professional nature photographers and offers unique, close-up eagle photographing opportunities. Guest AccessLiving room, kitchen and large porch are shared with owners. The bathroom may be shared, but typically is private. Guests are welcome to explore the property. Interaction with GuestsOwners both work full time (sometimes from home) and are present in the evenings. We are avid horsemen, hikers, skiers and lovers of all the surrounding outdoor activities. We are happy to share our local knowledge. The NeighborhoodThe Nooksack River Ranch is located an easy drive to the numerous outdoor activities offered in the North Cascades, Bellingham and Vancouver, BC. It is only 30 miles from one of the least commercial ski and snowboard areas in country, Mt. Baker. If you are a cross country skier or would like to try snowshoeing, even closer is the White Salmon Snow Park. The Ranch offers a unique experience – it is one of the best places to watch and photograph the eagle feast along the Nooksack River! Starting around Thanksgiving of each year, numerous wintering eagles converge to dine on the prolific chum salmon run. Our covered, wrap-around porch offers spectacular viewing of the eagle festivities. During the peak, what we refer to as “the eagle trees” are draped with eagles digesting the chum run bounty. The hub of activities truly brightens the damp and dark winter days of the Pacific North West. (Of course, the moist foothills means frequent snow dumps only a few miles away in the North Cascades.) Since nature does what she wants when she wants, make sure to ask about the current eagle activity when you send us an airbnb inquiry about booking. A Disneyland for outdoor enthusiasts, Mt. Baker and surrounding peaks are under consideration to be added to the North Cascades National Park. Getting AroundBus stop going into Bellingham is under a mile from house. It is about 10 miles to the Sumas, British Columbia Border Crossing. Other Things to NoteThe Ranch is close to the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest We are on the edge of cell/hi-speed cable service. ATT service is usually avaliable from various locations in the house/on the property. Hi-speed works everywhere!

The first floor features an open living/dining/kitchen floor plan with a wood stove and a gas stove, one bedroom with 1-full size bed, a second bedroom with 1-full size bed, and a 3/4 bath, as well as a mud room with a washer/dryer. The second floor is an open loft sleeping area with 1-queen size bed. Enjoy magnificent views of Silver Lake both from the living area, as well as the wrap around deck, with Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, and a gas BBQ. This cabin has it's own dock, so feel free to bring your row boat or Kayak! This pet-friendly vacation property will sleep up to 6-persons. The SpaceThis wooded property makes you feel secluded and far away from the city, but all the city amenities are there. There are three parts to the property. There is the RV unit, which sleeps 2, a bunk house, that sleeps 2-3 and closed off gazebo for getting together to play games and drink some brew out of the elements. As stated by prior guest if there are more than 2 guests expect longer times for water to get warm between showers. Water heater is designed for 2 quick showers before it needs to warm up again. Guest AccessGuests have access to all the units on the property. The RV is the main unit with a kitchen and a shower. The Bunk house (more like a small cabin) has one bunk bed and one regular bed. The Gazebo (with a wood stove) is a closed off area which allows for a larger community area to sit down and play cards and what not. Interaction with GuestsDepending on the day we will either have someone meet you at the property to do a quick run down, or we will have keys and instructions available the day of the stay. We will work with you to make your stay enjoyable! The NeighborhoodThis property is located in a quiet cul-de-sac. Outside, their is a full length deck with a gas fire ring, a private hot tub, and a propane BBQ...all overlooking the lake!     Snowline Cabin #47 - A rustic vacation home with modern charm and a Private outdoor hot tub. This 3-story, 3-bedroom, 1 3/4-bath log home blends modern convenience with rustic charm! The 1st floor includes a family room with a freestanding gas fireplace and a laundry room with a full size washer/dryer. The main floor features a fully equipped kitchen, an open living/dining area with a wood burning fireplace, a 3/4 bath, and french doors that access a balcony with mountain views. The 3rd floor includes one bedroom with 1-set of full bunk beds, another bedroom with 1-set of full bunk beds plus an adjoining balcony, and a master bedroom with 1-queen bed, its own private balcony, and 1-full bath. We are the last of five houses along the road, with neighbors to the north and west, DNR land to the east. 30 minutes east of the convenience of Bellingham, a half mile to Maple Fuels ("The Fuely") & Crossroads grocery, 8 miles west of the Wake 'N Bakery in Glacier (as well as Milanos, Grahams, and another 1.5 miles to Chair 9)... from Glacier, only 30 min to Mt. Baker Ski Area, with forest and trails galore in between! 4 miles south of Silver Lake Park and 1.5 hours south of Vancouver, BC (with passport and timely boarder crossing :)...). Getting AroundYou will want your own transportation, including running legs, hiking poles, skis, snowboards, snowshoes, kayaks, river rafts, paddle boards, mountain bikes, road bikes, rock climbing gear, fishing boats, horses (we do not provide boarding), sleds, and/or snowmobiles. Please note, tire chains are required Nov 1 - Apr 1 in the area. Other Things to NoteWe strive to make our space as allergen-free, healthful, and environmentally friendly as possible. Our cleaning products include baking soda, borax, vinegar, lemon oil, and "free and clear" detergents and soaps. We recently installed solar energy, a gas fireplace, and a heat pump (heating & cooling) for more efficiency and sustainability. The house has an on-demand water heater as well. All carpet has been removed and any updates are done with 0-VOC, earth-friendly products. Recycling and compost receptacles are available for use. Pets and smoking are not allowed as to maintain a low-allergen space. Wifi is available but can be turned off should you prefer a landline connection to reduce EMFs.

    The SpaceThe Waterfront Chalet is the only low bank private vacation rental on Silver Lake. Located in the foothills of the Snoqualmine National Forest, home to Mt Baker, this 3 acre pristine waterfront property is a true gem. Custom built in 2007, our vacation home was designed for entertaining with a 35' two-story great room with fireplace, unobstructed views of Silver Lake and a gourmet kitchen with a 6 burner commercial gas range. The three bedrooms and loft comfortably sleep 10 guests. The loft, open to below, has 42" HDTV, DVD player and a foosball table (no cable TV or Satellite). With everything one could need on the main floor, the home is handicapped friendly with wide doors, low thresholds and hard wood floors and tile in the main living area (however not ADA compliant). Guests have access to the outdoor hot tub, fire pit, BBQ, private dock and the option to rent our 15' aluminum row boat. The lake is stocked each year with 15,000 trout and fishing is right in the back yard! We are local owners that live just under an hour from the Waterfront Chalet. We maintain the home ourselves and take care of all reservations and check in via email. The home is located down a mile long gravel road, home to a handful homes on the lake. It is very quiet and most homes are on acreage. Both lots, directly on either side of the home are vacant and partially wooded, creating additional privacy. Across the lake is 180 acre Silver Lake Park with a public boat launch, picnic area, beach for swimming and a new playground. From the property, you can not see any other homes. Their family has lived there for 40+ years The NeighborhoodLindell Beach is a community of 120 homes....some cabins that were built in the 50's..others like mine which are tastefully modern and built recently [2010]. The people are very friendly....and hugely family orientated. Many young children play in the playground and older children are allowed to play tennis, pickle ball and road hockey in the community facilities at no charge. Speed limits are an enforced 30km at all times. My house has parking for 4 vehichles....there is no parking in the community for non-residents. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation. It is 8 minutes to the other end of the lake...water slides, pizza , Japanese and fancy restaurant are in a mall with the waterslides , a childrens park [Dinotown], and a new theme park with a roller coaster train, merry-go-round, ferris wheel. Other Things to NoteLake is safe and quite quiet on weekdays. Swimming, diving board, kayaking and boating activities are a little busier on weekends.

The river is home to all five species of native salmon as well as steelhead and trout. Bald eagles line its banks in winter. Elk, mountain goats and bears roam the wild country of the watershed. It is currently being considered for WILD and SCENIC Designation. As a guest, you have access and time to explore! Bring water shoes since there are side channels and rocks. The Neighborhood22 Miles on Route 542 (Mt. Baker Hwy) from I-5 On the edge of the wilderness (Whatcom County is 2/3rds roadless wilderness - I love saying that to my East Coast friends!), but not far from civilization! Going East (towards Mt. Baker): Less than 1 mile to gas station and two convenience-type stores (one has a Subway in it) 3 miles to Maple Falls with two small grocery stores (some organic foods, fruits, vegetables, liquor, sandwiches) and a restaurant 12 miles to Glacier with several restaurants (at the base of Mt. Baker). Going West: 1 mile to the NorthFork Brewery which gets very high ratings on YELP for pizza and small batch beers! 7 miles to Il Caffe Rifugio 22 miles to I-5 and Bellingham (numerous restaurants and activities). Getting AroundGuests usually drive, however, there is a bus to/from Bellingham several times a day to a stop about a mile from the house.

Guests will require a vehicle to drive to the cottages. There is room for two vehicles to be parked at the cottage Other Things to NoteThe Cottages at Cultus lake is a gated community, there are quiet times from 11pm to 8am. The "TreeHouse" clubhouse is open 6am to 11pm., the pools close at 10pm. Dogs must be on a leash at all time and are not allowed at the Treehouse or pool area.
