The SpaceSet just a few miles outside of a Victorian seaport community, this former Greek orthodox chapel is a fabulous getaway destination in itself! Outdoor activities abound, as do many cultural activities at nearby Fort Worden, hosted by the Centrum Arts Foundation. Centrally located between Finn River Farm, Eaglemount Cidery, Fairwinds Winery and Alpenfire Cidery, you can easily take a farm/wine tour in the area. Chimacum and Port Townsend are about equal distances from the chapel. Marrowstone island is very close, too with our favorite breakfast beach at Lagoon Island park.
Best of all, you sleep on a four-poster bed, draped off on the former altar! There is a queen size luxurious bed with down comforter on the altar. The fire is viewable from the bed and quite romantic. Double bed in the private bedroom is a quality, firm bed with down bedding.
There is a mirrored dance space, too!
There is NO TELEVISION in the chapel. There is wifi for you to stream movies, if you bring a laptop.
The chapel is an eclectic and funky space. If you are accustomed to high-end, brand-new condos, this is not the spot for you! It is better suited to happy, laid-back, creative-type people, who appreciate the unique. If you are a finicky, please pass us by ;-)
Most often, I will be out of town when renters are here, so you will unlikely meet me. The key will be in the location listed in the house manual.
THANKS SO MUCH!
The kitchen is equipped with a professional Kitchen-Aid mixer, a Ninja blender and a juicer (on longer rentals, I usually take the juicer, but if you want it, please ask and I can leave it for you.)
If you want to bring a pet, please add them as an additional guest. That fee is for extra cleaning. Review the pet rules carefully, please.
I can arrange for a picnic for you, small events in the chapel and even for a fire dance performance! Just ask and we can work out the details. Guest AccessYou have use of the house and yard. If there are only two guests, I ask that you choose one of the beds and not use both, so that there is less cleaning and laundry at the end. (It's why I charge extra for extra guests beyond two.) You can use the kitchen equipment, but please don't use the food unless it's specified for you to consume perishables. And I'd appreciate if you didn't dip into the wine or booze, unless you replace it with the same. On special occasions, I leave out champagne or wine and I'll set glasses out so that you know that you are welcome to it.
The hot tub (currently under repair) is not for guest access. It has to be kept chemical-free, so it's not possible to disinfect after guests. Interaction with GuestsI am generally gone when guests are here, so there is little, if any interaction in person. Typically, I'll leave a key and we'll communicate via text and email. The NeighborhoodCentrally located between Chimacum and Port Townsend, you can easily tour the area farms, cideries and wineries. Marrowstone island is very close, and one of my favorite breakfast-time beaches is there, at Lagoon Beach county park. If you have a hankerin' to swim, this is also your best shot at warmish water! Getting AroundThere is ample parking at the chapel, for any size vehicle. Public transit doesn't run close enough to make it a viable option here; you'll need a car. It is 8 miles into downtown proper from the house (although the same zip code). Other Things to NoteIf you intend to bring a pet, there is a $25 pet fee involved (please add the pet as an extra guest for booking and this fee will be automatically added. It takes extra cleaning for me), and the usual courtesies apply; scoop your poop, do not allow dogs on the furniture, NEVER leave the dog unattended in my home, unless you have brought a crate, and be conscious that they do not chew or soil anything. You will automatically lose your security deposit if I have to clean up after your pet. I have hardwood floors and imported wool rugs that would be very expensive to refinish/replace should they get soiled. Please keep that in mind :)
When there aren't renters ahead of or after you, I can be flexible with check-in and check-out times. Just ask :)
