The SpaceThe studio apartment is the downstairs level of a unique log cabin set along the Palouse Trail on the edge of Pullman, walking distance from downtown and the WSU campus and a short drive to the U of I campus. The space will comfortably accommodate 1-4 people with a queen bed and up to two twin mattresses that can be provided for additional guests. I list the max guests at 5 because I have had a few families with small children who have made 5 work. Guest AccessGuests access the downstairs studio apartment, which has a separate entry, full kitchen, and bathroom. I live with a roommate in the upstairs unit. There is ample parking space for multiple vehicles if necessary. Interaction with GuestsInteraction with guests depends on the dates of your stay and your preferences. Guests have joined us for outdoor recreation and s'mores around the fire pit, while other guests have kept to themselves with busy trips to the area. The NeighborhoodThe location can't be beat. The property provides a quiet getaway off the beaten path, yet it is about a mile from downtown Pullman and the WSU campus with trails that lead you there from the front steps. Getting AroundThere is quick access to all the businesses in Pullman, and it is about a ten-minute drive from the University of Idaho campus in Moscow, ID. There is also a convenient bus stop one block away. Other Things to NoteOnce you book, you can get more detailed directions to the house and get the WiFi info in the "Directions" section of the listing. I also provide recommendations for a few local spots in the Guidebook and I am happy to talk with you about getting around and places to see as well.

The SpaceModern eco & sustainably designed home. Energy Star certified. Large open living. You are free to enjoy all the common space, living, dining, etc. The kitchen is well-appointed (everything but a microwave), the 4'x7' dining table supports great group meals, & the adjacent glass wall can open to a full 11' wide on pleasant days. The patio is nice for morning cup of tea or evening BBQs. Two private bedrooms available upstairs. Guest Room #1 primarily, Room #2 secondarily. There is a foldout couch/bed in the upstairs office that can be made up comfortably to sleep additional guests, but auditory privacy is limited. Room#3, our Master MIGHT be available with special arrangements + cost increase. You can ask me. The views are stellar, & the masterbath is lovely indeed. We have 2 offices and a library nook, so plenty of space to get away if you need it. Guest AccessThere is always coffee and tea to make, & typically some bread and fruit available for a quick breakfast grab. Wifi of course. 55" TV has internet, basic cable, & Netflix subscription. Hulu/Vudu downloads possible. On-street parking; driveway available with coordination. Interaction with GuestsLots of maps & printed information about the town/region available. Ask me questions on restaurants, coffee houses, bars, local art, Farmer's Markets, Moscow, bike rides, etc. I can likely point you toward what you need. We want you to feel comfortable and make yourself (respectably) at home. We live here, so it's likely we'll be bumping into each other mornings or evening. As a busy family of three, with an ever-changing schedule, we rarely know much in advance when we're having a home dinner, doing take-out, or absent. We're friendly & inclusive, so you are welcome to join in our meal if we cook, or make your own, however suits your fancy. If you're more of an introvert, privacy is yours, we will restrain our gregarious personalities, but I cannot assure you that the cats will. Annapurna & Miko seek head scratching & tummy rubs if they like you; they reciprocate w/ voluminous purring for your pleasure. We do keep the cats out of Room#1 (mostly). Getting AroundHouse is 1 mile from Main Street and similar distance to WSU campus. It can be a pleasant walk, but the community is definitely car dominant. Pullman has public bus service for easy access downtown or campus., as well as taxicab availability. There is no public transportation between the towns of Pullman & Moscow. Though there is a wonderful 7 mile bike trail paralleling the highway. The local airport is only a few minutes out of town. Spokane Regional Airport is about a 90 minute drive and Lewiston 45 minutes. Other Things to NoteIf you are curious... ask me about the hydronic solar panels on the roof, advanced frame construction, or maybe, how 24" of sand insulated under the concrete floor radiantly heats our home. Or, ask about the passive solar design, the passive stack & cross-ventilation cooling, how the 14" thermal mass of the 1st story walls keep our home temperature stable. Or enjoy the induction cooktop, super silent dishwasher, and if you need, my front-load clothes washer that extracts 90% of water during high-speed spin, leaving minimal need for the dryer. Or, simply enjoy the beautiful quantity of daylight and lovely Palouse views from our triple-glazed windows. There's more...but I'll stop. :)

The SpaceFALL BIRD HUNTING EXTRA! If you like to bird hunt but don't have a dog, I have a deal for you. Book my space, or any space, and bring your bird hunting gear. My dog Annie is a top notch upland bird dog (German short haired pointer) and she's ready to hunt. $50 for a half day and $100 for a full day you'll have Annie and I to find 'em. Note: I am not a hunting guide. Fees are for dog rental. If you have a location, we'll help you get birds. Guest AccessYou will have access to the bathroom and laundry room via a hallway that is not private. I need access to the hallway but your room is private with a deadbolt lock. Interaction with GuestsI am very busy but glad to support you in your stay. I will help you get in or make arrangements for you to enter with ease. Other Things to NoteYou should know that I have a dog named Annie. She is very friendly and adorable but if you're skiddish of dogs this is not the place for you. Also, your room is on the lower level. Some noise from walking above is inevitable and Annie will occasionally bark at night when people are walking by. Make sure that when you use the hallway between your room and the bathroom that you are aware tha I have access to that hallway during your stay. I will use it as little as possible. Not fancy or luxurious. Simple but comfortable.

The SpaceThe apartment includes a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and newly remodeled bathroom. We affectionately refer to the apartment as Vaatchernoggin (watch yer noggin) because the ceilings and door frames are a smidge low. If you are taller than 5'10", just duck a bit as you make your way from the living room to the bedroom. We have a queen sofa bed in the living room that can sleep two people, a queen bed in the bedroom, and a full mattress that pulls out from the under the bed. Sleeps six pretty comfortably if people don't mind sharing a full mattress. If your family is larger, please let us know and we are happy to provide sleeping mats to accommodate an extra child or two on the floor. Guest AccessThere is one parking space dedicated to the apartment alongside the fence in the front of the house. Guests enter the apartment through the gate to the side patio, which includes a barbecue which you are free to utilize during your stay. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the house above the apartment, so we are available to help with any needs you may have. The NeighborhoodWe are located on the edge of Military Hill, one block from the Tot Lot playground with easy access to the Chipman Trail. Getting AroundThe Pullman bus stops right in front of the house, and costs 30 cents to ride anywhere in town. Very handy for game weekends so you don't have to deal with driving and parking! We are also walking distance from downtown, and about a ten-minute walk to the edge of campus. Other Things to NoteThe apartment is in the basement of our family home, so we are easily accessible to help with anything you might need. (We also have three kids and two cats, so there will be some amount of regular house activity noise above. We provide a fan for white noise.)

The SpaceWhile near campus, the home is modern, homie, and spacious. I'm only interested in responsible individuals or couples. Guest AccessLiving room, dining room, kitchen, and driveway. You are welcome to watch TV (no cable, but, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and, Sling TV are available). I also have WiFi for your use. Finally, kitchen appliances are also available. Interaction with GuestsIt depends. I work on campus and tend to have some pretty late evenings. During the weekend, I try to be out of the house, but, may stay in on Sunday's. The NeighborhoodThe house is on historic College Hill. While the neighborhood has a reputation of being loud, it's not bad. More so, because we are next to campus (next to the Women's Soccer Field) it can get loud with fans, etc. But, it's an exciting place to stay! Getting AroundPublic transit does not run here, but, you are steps away from being on the WSU campus.

The SpaceThis space is a self-contained apartment located in one corner of the host home. Bright and cheery, you can enjoy complete privacy from the host family in comfortable surroundings, and we are just a few blocks from amenities like grocery/ restaurants/ coffee and the WSU campus is an easy drive of just a few minutes. This space is listed with the option of just one bedroom and bath ("The Music Studio"), but we rent to only one group at a time, i.e. the calendar for The Music Studio is closed if this 2-bedroom listing is booked. Guest AccessGuests have their own separate entrance to their completely private living room (sorry, it contains my pianos and not much room to sit), full kitchen and dining nook, two bedrooms with queen beds, and two baths (all linens are provided). The bedrooms and baths are located on individual hallways that are separated by the living areas, so this is a comfortable space for two couples. Kitchen includes microwave, toaster, dinnerware service for 8, pots & pans, all cutlery and cooking utensils--or you can always borrow something from the hosts upstairs! Weather permitting, guests may choose to relax outside, but we do not host parties to extended visitors. Interaction with GuestsInteraction with guests can be minimal, although hosts will be home and available to answer questions, recommend restaurants, campus parking and buses. Breakfast options are negotiable, from guest-prepared in the kitchen to continental items left in the apartment. Coffee and tea are always stocked (k-cup style brewer). The NeighborhoodThis is a quiet, established neighborhood with views toward campus. Getting AroundWe are located one block from the bus route and on-street parking is readily available on our quiet street. Guests arriving from the airport or bus depot can discuss transportation arrangements with the host. Other Things to NoteThe Studio is a working piano studio during weekdays and only available to Airbnb guests on weekends. Travelers wishing for a longer-term rental will need to contact the host to determine if the Studio is available and a good fit for their needs.

The SpaceYou have access to our entire basement, including bedrooms, tv, Netflix, Hulu, shower, restroom, and laundry. Entry to the house will be through the garage and you may come and go as you please. We have coffee, tea, water, and snacks available for you downstairs. You have full access to whatever you need upstairs in the kitchen, including fridge, microwave, and a second restroom. This space allows for you to be as involved or uninvolved with us as you please. We are friendly people and love to chat, but also understand that privacy is golden :) Guest AccessEntire basement. Garage entry, bedroom, downstairs living area with TV, bathroom, shower, coffee pot, hot water, laundry. Interaction with GuestsWe are more than happy to help, offer suggestions, and get anything you need within reason. As far as privacy and interacting with us, choose your own adventure. During peak seasons we rent out both bedrooms downstairs. This still offers a fair amount of privacy. We will always inform you beforehand if our second bedroom has been rented and we are more than happy to work with you with any questions or concerns. Both rooms lock for additional privacy! The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is one mile from campus and town, but quiet and family-friendly. Getting AroundThe Pullman bus route is close by and regular. We are in walking distance of much of the town. Travel by bike is possible but challenging with hills. If you'd like to rent our bikes for the weekend, let us know! Other Things to NoteWe are excited to open our home to you! A small town with big events like football games and graduation can make it challenging to find space and we'd love to have you! We are quite open-minded, if you'll be imbibing or partaking in substances, that's fine! Any marijuana use needs to happen respectfully and outdoors. No cigarettes on the premises. Alcohol use in the home is fine, but we ask that you are respectful. Having a couple beers - great! Having 4 dozen beers and being loud and rude - not great! Coming home a little toasted from the game - great! Coming home from the game totally slammed and being loud, rude, or vomiting on our things - not great!

The SpaceWith an open floor plan for entertaining, lots of space, easy access to everywhere in town and an awesome view of WSU, our place is a great choice. Our home was built in 1986, and while fully updated, maintains the old quality of thick walls, making our home great for keeping quiet bedrooms while some guests remain awake chatting. Two separate living spaces give guests options for relaxing and conversations, and being on the park is great for a game of basketball, tennis, baseball, and letting the kids play. Just up the hill is Lawson Gardens - perfect for an evening stroll. Guest AccessWe have a TV (no cable) with access to DVD player, PS3, original Xbox, games and movies. We have lots of board games too you are welcome to use. The washer and dryer will also be available. Closets, dressers, and the garage are off limits to guests unless otherwise stated or labeled. Interaction with GuestsWe will have coffee and breakfast foods available for you during your stay. Depending on the weekend, we may be in town, so please let us know if you have any questions or need any help with the home. Urban chic meets country living! The Wesson Barn Loft is an 860 sq. ft. totally unique, unexpectedly modern, studio style lodging on the second floor (20 steps) of our barn. We designed and built the space with great attention to detail and function; it imparts an open, but intimate feel. The Loft boasts a fully furnished, jazzy kitchen; just add food. The full bath has plenty of storage and full-sized laundry facilities. The open living area sleeps two in a queen-sized bed and also sleeps two in a queen-sized, trundle-style/pop-up (NOT hide-a-bed) couch. There is a spacious, relaxing, south-facing deck with the best views of our country property and our chickens and sheep or as a place to enjoy great views of the sunrise or sunset. Also furnished are high-speed, wireless internet, a big screen TV with Blu-ray DVD, CD, iPOD dock and Bose sound system. Parking is right outside the door. We are located one mile from downtown Pullman, two miles from Washington State University and 10 miles from the University of Idaho just across the state line in Moscow, ID. We are about 45 minutes from the Snake and Clearwater Rivers which offer boating and fishing as well as jet boat trips on the Snake River up Hell's Canyon. There are extensive mountain biking trails on nearby Moscow Mountain as well as a 30-mile paved trail system that connects Pullman and Moscow and continues on to Troy, ID. This trail system provides easy-access, cross-country skiing in the winter time. There is a tournament level golf course on the Washington State University campus plus two more golf courses in Moscow, ID (only 10 miles away). In general, we offer a peaceful country setting with a twist. The Loft is a place to slow down and enjoy all that a small, university town has to offer.
