VISION: we're creating an urban microfarm complete with multiple gardens and animals, which at this time consist of dog asha, seven hens, one mini-mancha goat, and two ducks. Guest Accessthe guesthouse has two private bedrooms (each available as a separate rental--one room has two beds for 3 guests and the other has one bed for 2 guests, for a total of 5 guests permitted at once) and one bathroom. we and the guests have access to all common areas (kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry, outdoor deck, yard, and parking lot).
NOTE: DISCOUNTED WEEKLY RENTAL RATES ARE FOR ONE PERSON. add $10/night per extra person. 'extra person' includes children who are mobile and walking.
NEED MORE SPACE? book the other room--access 'my other listings' via my profile. Interaction with GuestsVIBE: we may or may not meet, depending on our schedules. i give all the self check-in info in your itinerary and on many helpful notes throughout the house for guidance. if you want to visit, let us know when you're available, or join us while we're feeding the animals or working in the yard.
ASSISTANCE: i'd love to help you get the most out of your visit to seattle by helping you choose and find activities such as tango, yoga, adult ballet, permaculture, running, capoeira, flying or static trapeze, parkour, adult gymnastics, coffee houses, local farmers markets, hiking, acrobatics, swing + blues dancing, road trips, skiing, beaches, parks, meetup groups, rollerblading, public transportation, great restaurants, + shopping. if there's something i don't know about, the internet will come to our rescue! The Neighborhoodthe farmlette is less than 10 minutes from seatac airport and a 15-30-minute drive to downtown, depending on traffic. we're in a middle class hilltop suburban neighborhood that is only a few minutes' drive from all 8 major highways yet offers a peaceful place to lay your head after a busy day, or a retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.
a 5-minute walk leads to:
--the neighborhood bus stop
--the green river/duwamish trail (bike/run/jog/walk/rollerblade/float on a raft in the river for 20+ miles)
--the foster links golf course
--the joseph foster memorial park (tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields, jogging trail, playground)
--four casinos (24-hr entertainment)
--a family-run local italian restaurant
--7-11 (snacks/red box)
starbucks is a 10-12-minute walk away/2-min. drive and the drive-thru is open 24 hours.
the starfire soccer complex is 1.5 miles away and hosts major soccer competitions and daily/nightly pickup games. one can walk here in 20-30 minutes via the green river/duwamish trail.
2 miles away (#150 bus southbound) is the biggest mall in washington (westfield southcenter), with movies & IMAX theater, restaurants, seafood city, iFly, + bowling alley. nearby is REI, target, many major banks, nordstrom rack, cost plus imports, fedex/kinkos, and many, many more stores and restaurants.
10-min. drive north is the georgetown seasonal saturday farmers market/flea market and hip hangout notable for antique/decor shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants.
kubota gardens, boeing field, and the museum of flight are also a 10-min drive north. Getting Aroundwe are 4.5 miles from the seatac airport via:
